i saw this movie when i was younger.. so i did not like it since i thought it was goofy and the story didnt make sense to me. fast foreword to now and i have to say, it is better than i remember! the characters are god and funny the music is great the effects still hold pretty well over all this movie still holds up great as a family movie

Looks amazing in 4k just wish the other movies were sold too

An Original Classic......Really enjoyed this one.........just bought on Blu Ray.

This release contains 2 disc, a slipcover and a digital code. The bonus disc with additional features from the previous Blu-Ray release was dropped and those features are not included on the 4K disc. The transfer is the same 4K transfer being shown currently on Disney+ and a lot people are not happy with it. The film is a classic.

I was really looking forward to this movie in 4k. Big disappointment in the color.

The 4K re-release of this film is, at best, disappointing. There is a very artificial look to the picture as if you were watching an upscaled Blu-ray—with all the enhancement algorithms turned all the way up. The movie sound makes poor use of Atmos. it seems the soundtrack was just re-released—without any optimization for Atmos' capabilities. There was no use of the height channels that I could hear and little in the way of directional sound. All in all, this felt very much like a letdown from a highly anticipated title.

Loved this movie growing up and finally happy it’s on 4K, it looks good!

The transfer on this bluray is dark and lackluster. If you are just showing this to the kids, it is OK. If you are a videophile, it will probably not meet your standards.

Didn’t know if 4K would make a difference just wanted a digital copy because when this movie first came out on Blu-ray did not have one ….. however I’m so very glad I got this upgrade the picture the sound is astounding well worth getting if you love this series!!!!

Good movie. Don't waste your time with the sequels.

The one that began it all... one of the few times Disney took a ride, made it into a movie, and then had to update the ride to incorporate the movie because it was so loved. I love any film featuring Jack Sparrow (that's CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, mate!).

Not the best 4K transfer, but I don’t think it is the worst either. If you don’t already own it, then you should buy the 4K, but if you already have the blu-ray, I would hold off.

Disappointed with 4k quality, not an improvement over standard blu-ray as far as video and HDR. Not happy with a purchase

The first of the Pirates of The Caribbean series in a stellar 4K upgrade. When you rewatch it, realize how great this movie is. Johnny Depp is fantastic as the pirate and the whole cast and story is just a classic from Disney

This movie was great. I have the old blu-ray so I updated to the 4K movie and the picture was great and sound effects were excellent. Very good acting by all. Would like to see all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in 4K

Nothing else to say apart from everything in the title. Luckily i bought it on a sale, + a 5$ coupon

I really enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean films. I've watched them several times. I remember when I heard this was getting a 4K Release & I was excited. I still have POTC marathons to this day.

What can I say about this movie? I feel the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie is the best so I was very excited to see it re-released in 4K. Definitely an exciting adventure that everyone should watch.

Is great film starring Johnny Depp as a pirate however they just want to milk the money Disney they could have easily put this in a Box set however they want to put the last movie out and now the 1st movie what next
