I replaced an HDD with this SSD on an old PC. It made a world of a difference. I also changed the OS from windows 10 to Linux Mint. The OS is fast and I’m able to use multiple apps at once. The HDD was super slow and would freeze up with just 1 app. The price was also just right.

This drive has been running well in my Ubuntu 18.04LTS Acer notebook for about 6 months now. I'm not a big-time, log-auditing, whetstone-compiling, super user administrator of Linux, but I have to say this was an easy HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to SSD (Solid State Drive) swap out and operating system reinstall on my Acer 5755 notebook. My main desire was to get a quicker boot time. That goal was accomplished. Power-On-To-Login time went from 53 seconds when the traditional HDD was installed to a much quicker 19.5 seconds with the SSD installed. The reinstallation of Ubuntu from my installation pen drive was so fast! It installed onto SSD way faster than it had ever done before. I put my removed HDD into a USB interface to transfer my user data files back onto the /home folder of the new installation of Ubuntu on the SSD. It was noticeably quicker at copying files than previous HDD to HDD transfers. I really noticed that it was a lot quicker when I transfered music and photo files from a couple of huge SD cards. Faster speed. Lower power consumption. Less weight. Good upgrade! ~Paul K.

Acquired an old used Mac pro which had a mechanical hard drive I wanted to upgrade it to an SSD a store had this particular drive on sale so I bought one and so far it's been awesome it's nice and fast and the price was right

This item was purchased with the expressed purpose of installing it into my older Playstation 2 SCPH-3500x floor model and I would have to say, after the purchase of necessary hardware, it worked very well for the storage and replay of disk images. Granted, it is not large enough to replace my entire library of older PS2 titles, but it is ideal for the more difficult to find and horrendously expensive to acquire games that the platform supports as well as select homebrew applications. Still trying to get it to play original PS1 disks but that is not the fault of the hardware. It's unfortunately on the software side that I have yet to solve adequately via YouTube tutorials.

Good for the price. It is not a huge drive but it is large enough for daily tasks. Been ssd makes it fast and reliable

i got this on sale for only 30 dollars, amazing bang for the buck. i used this in my 2nd pc that was still running off a hdd so switching to this felt like night and day. but seriously... 30 dollars for 500gb? what a good year it is.
