I paired this with Polk S15’s, an Insignia NS-STR514, and a Denon DP-300F, and this thing absolutely SLAMS for the price. I’ve always wanted a subwoofer to complete the feel of R&B records and music with funky bass and this was on sale, so I decided to complete my collection and purchase. A little bigger than I imagined however it’s such a nice sub, and the look matches the other Polk speakers I have. The connection ports are simple and nice, and the auto off feature is slick. Pro tip: make sure you read the instructions unless you’re super pro; we were a little confused in the beginning with the inputs & outputs, but once we figured out the slightly wacky instructions we were good to go.

The price point along with performance for me is a no brainer. This sub hits the low tones nicely and if you like to not only hear what you are watching/listening to but like to feel it as well this sub is perfect. I am actually considering getting another just because I like it so much. I definitely don’t need 2 and 1 works perfectly fine but it’s such a good deal imo it’s worth having a 2nd either to use now or maybe even as a back up or in another room on the other side of the house. I love it, highly recommend.

I was looking at the 500.00 one but I've known Polk audio to be good in the past. I was not wrong. Paired with my 1700 watt home theater this thing drops clear Bass during explosions, music, and even commercials rock the house. Nice and clean design goes with an all black set up. Thanks Polk for delivering and saving me more than half of what I was going to spend.

I honestly did not need a sub because i felt that my elac speakers gaved me enough bass for my music needs. I have a small room where i have my music/gaming 2.0 set up so i do not really need a lot of bass so i bought this on sale for a little kick in my bass. I use this sub only when watching movies and tv shows where bass is needed. As far as music goes i have this unpluged. The music i listen does not need that much bass. Over all i enjoy this sub but get on sale. This was gets pretty loud and could shake the walls in any room. Note bass is muddy but for the price is fair. If heavy bass is the only thing that matters then yes, buy these but if sound and balance is important then look else where.

I use this sub in the bedroom and have it hooked up to my Yamaha yas106 soundbar. It really compliments the soundbar perfectly and adds just the right amount of bass for watching movies.

I come from a long line of cobbled together sound systems, followed by home theater in a boxes, soundbars and Bluetooth workarounds. When I purchased my first home I decided to go for an actual sound system. A real home theater and while everything I purchased is considered entry level by price everything sounds much more expensive including this subwoofer. Simply put this subwoofer is a great deal. It's affordable without shirking on power, clarity or features. I was looking for a solid preforming sub and I found it. Clear solid bass with plenty of umph! (I actually lowered the sub's volume to around half.) Great sub for a great price. My setup for reference: 4x Polk Series 2 Monitor 60s 1x Polk Cs1 Center Channel 1x Polk Psw108 Subwoofer Yamaha Rx377bl receiver

Despite low cost, and even lower-cost as I bought an open-box item, this little sub does no harm, and has no negative traits. I feels subs can be broken into two categories: Music OR Theater. This will NOT rumble your rafters during explosions in action movies, but, will add pleasant bass presence. It is better suited to fleshing out the low-end sounds of music when using main speakers with woofers less than 6" in diameter, in moderate or small rooms. Controls are logical and intuitive, with multiple hook-up options. Noise floor is dead quiet. Neutral-looking, can be placed discreetly in the room. Do not over-use your sub. Most people do. A little sub volume goes a long way. If you are listening to CNN and the newscaster's voice is booming and rumbling, turn the sub down, and/or lower the crossover frequency….both easily done on this sub. Your regular speakers should produce 95% of your normal audio. When a low frequency bass note occurs in a song, or in a movie or TV show, a properly set-up sub will suddenly make it's presence known, and you will smile. Like an alligator or shark gliding just below the surface of the water, you shouldn’t notice the sub until !BAM! it strikes. This sub does that nicely.

Replaced an old Vizio 5.1 soundbar that was starting to malfunction after 10 years of usage. Went with the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 as the primary component. Decided I needed to get some punchy bass added, and saw some intrepid individuals had been successful in getting the Bose 600 bar to recognize Polk subs as the much more expensive Bose Bass Module 700 via 3.5 to RCA stereo cables. Rolled the dice, picked up this here PSW108, and now I've got a room shaking monster of a sound system and a big smile on my face.

I waited until it came on sale before I bought it, and for the $125 I paid for it, it is worth every penny. The speaker has crossover and volume controls on it, which are perfect for getting the sound dialed in. I am using it in my home office, connected to a Sony 5.1 Dolby surround sound receiver and an Onkyo 6 disc changer. The sub is paired with the new Sony SSCS5 3 way bookshelf speakers with the new super tweeter, which are also amazing little speakers that, for my tastes, are superior to the comparable Polk or Klipsch bookshelf speakers for the warmth of sound and dynamic range. It took a few hours to break in the Polk Audio sub, but once it was broken in, it didn't take long to get the system dialed in to add enough bass and low end sound to really round out the audio experience. I usually listen at lower levels since I am often on the phone, and I was able to adjust things to still get that great bottom end without interfering with my work. And after hours, if I want to crank the system up, it will shake my chair. LOL This is a great sub for the money, but wait to buy it on sale.

During 3/2017, my Yamaha YST-SW215 subwoofer burned out after 12 years of satisfying use, so I needed a replacement subwoofer. Originally, I wanted to replace this Yamaha subwoofer with the exact same unit. Unfortunately, Yamaha did away with this unit as it existed. The nearest new Yamaha subwoofer that I could use as a replacement lacked the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass in the sound input to the subwoofer. During 4/2017, I found the Polk PSW108 (PSW108) at Best Buy, and it did have the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass sound in the sound input to the unit, so I bought the PSW108 at Best Buy. Best Buy had the unit on sale at a special price! The Polk subwoofer is bigger, the subwoofer is 10 inches versus 8 inches for the Yamaha subwoofer that I replaced. The overall enclosure of the Polk subwoofer is bigger than the Yamaha subwoofer as well. I am using this Polk subwoofer with a Yamaha surround sound receiver RX-V679 in a 5.1 surround sound speaker setup. This Polk suboofer is a great value. It offers good bass response, and I was able to tailor its sound and performance to my liking by using both the controls that exist on the Polk subwoofer and some settings on my Yamaha surround sound receiver. This Polk subwoofer performs well when playing music or when you view a movie that has special effects with explosions and booms.

While upgrading my 2 channel stereo system for music listening, I needed to replace a 35 year old Polk passive subwoofer. After researching many powered ones, I decided to try the PSW108. Connecting the new 14 gauge wire to the spring clips was a sure thing. Powering it up, there was an immediate sense of the glass being full as the whole musical scene was being completed by the great roundness of the bottom end. In my case, I have noticed that the subwoofer needed about 2 weeks of play to "burn in". The low bass notes became more concise and more in tune - so much so that I had to reverse the phase switch from 180 to 0 (180 sounding better initially). The volume is now set right at 50%, with anything over that just producing a bit of overkill. The low pass control is set just off of the bottom - about 85. I have experimented with these controls as the sub has broken in, and have now found the sweet spot. It is very pleasing to have added this Polk sub to the system. It is quality made and heavy. It is a great value, as it came up on sale as I was researching subs. I am completely satisfied with my purchase of the PSW108. Give it time to break in, listen/adjust, listen/adjust and it will provide that great finishing touch to the musical image. Thank you Polk Audio - I have used your speakers for a long time and will continue to do so.

I'm very happy with my purchase of this subwoofer. It was easy to setup, although I had to purchase a subwoofer cable separately. I love that the power plug is small and doesn't take up much room on the outlet. Plus, the length is great so that you can set it far away if needed. Sounds great with my setup and packs a nice punch in my system!
