Bought the speaker to replace my old poke audio 8-in powered subwoofer. 10-in gives a much deeper base a lot of rumble and fills my room. I have an 18 by 13 room it really rocks the house. I like my base to rumble specially watching Jurassic Park and sci-fi shows. This really fits the bill and is far less than some of the more expensive ones I've been looking at. I paired this with my Sony receiver and 85-in Sony TV this sounds better than the movie theaters

My system sounds great! Nice clean bass without the rumble that I was living with for too long. Fantastic addition to my system for a very fair price too.

I waited until it came on sale before I bought it, and for the $125 I paid for it, it is worth every penny. The speaker has crossover and volume controls on it, which are perfect for getting the sound dialed in. I am using it in my home office, connected to a Sony 5.1 Dolby surround sound receiver and an Onkyo 6 disc changer. The sub is paired with the new Sony SSCS5 3 way bookshelf speakers with the new super tweeter, which are also amazing little speakers that, for my tastes, are superior to the comparable Polk or Klipsch bookshelf speakers for the warmth of sound and dynamic range. It took a few hours to break in the Polk Audio sub, but once it was broken in, it didn't take long to get the system dialed in to add enough bass and low end sound to really round out the audio experience. I usually listen at lower levels since I am often on the phone, and I was able to adjust things to still get that great bottom end without interfering with my work. And after hours, if I want to crank the system up, it will shake my chair. LOL This is a great sub for the money, but wait to buy it on sale.

The Polk PSW108 (PSW10) subwoofer is a great value

During 3/2017, my Yamaha YST-SW215 subwoofer burned out after 12 years of satisfying use, so I needed a replacement subwoofer. Originally, I wanted to replace this Yamaha subwoofer with the exact same unit. Unfortunately, Yamaha did away with this unit as it existed. The nearest new Yamaha subwoofer that I could use as a replacement lacked the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass in the sound input to the subwoofer. During 4/2017, I found the Polk PSW108 (PSW108) at Best Buy, and it did have the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass sound in the sound input to the unit, so I bought the PSW108 at Best Buy. Best Buy had the unit on sale at a special price! The Polk subwoofer is bigger, the subwoofer is 10 inches versus 8 inches for the Yamaha subwoofer that I replaced. The overall enclosure of the Polk subwoofer is bigger than the Yamaha subwoofer as well. I am using this Polk subwoofer with a Yamaha surround sound receiver RX-V679 in a 5.1 surround sound speaker setup. This Polk suboofer is a great value. It offers good bass response, and I was able to tailor its sound and performance to my liking by using both the controls that exist on the Polk subwoofer and some settings on my Yamaha surround sound receiver. This Polk subwoofer performs well when playing music or when you view a movie that has special effects with explosions and booms.

Awesome bass. Easy set up. Great price point. Have a 25 year old Boston sub that was $500 new and this one sounds just as good for less than half of what I paid for the Boston.

I bought this subwoofer for our gameroom. It isn't a huge room(16x14), so I figured this might work well for the space. I'm glad to say I was right. I was worried that the subwoofers amp might not be enough for the room, but it's perfect. For the price, it's a great value. There's lots of deep punchy bass for movies, music, and video games. It doesn't have the clarity or output of my SVS sub, but it's fine for the gameroom and a lot cheaper. If your looking to add some good bass at a reasonable price, check this one out.

I had a 10 inch Klipsch Subwoofer that I quickly returned when comparing it to the Polk Audio PSW108. The PSW108 Bass Clearity at low frequencies was Crystal Clear Thunderous Bass. I liked it so much, that the very next Day I purchased a second one. To make my Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System 7.2.2 But I will warm people. This may look similar to the Polk Audio PSW 10. But it's not. The PSW 10 has too many bad issues with them. That's why Polk Audio Re-Newed the PSW108. I am a very consciences shopper. So after I picked up the Polk Audio PSW108 that was on sale. And compared it to the Klipsch 10 inch Sub. The Polk Audio PSW108 plays much better and was selling at an Amazing Price. Now don't get me wrong. Nearly My entire System is Klipsch. And Klipsch Circuit Board was far Superior, But when I noticed when comparing the 2 Subs, that the Polk Sub played Clearer at a Lower Frequencie. Around 20Hrz. I didn't hesitate to ship back the Klipsch. Now after a few weeks of breaking them in. My surround sound system Complete, and plays at any volume Completely Clear. I highly recommend the Polk Audio PSW108. But I don't recommend the PSW 10 Silver faced Front Firing Sub. Because even though it may look the same. It is not. I'd rather pay $200.00 for the PSW108 then $129.00 for the PSW 10 which is truly a Gamble. I also recommend The Polk Audio Signature Series S35 Center Channel Speaker. Because it is another truly great product.

Love this subwoofer so much, for a moderately cheap price compared to some other high end brands this is worth every penny. I have a Sony sub that is the same size and it doesn't touch this sub. When cranked up the house shakes, and I love it. Most definitely get this if you want to really make your bass boom. Not to mention it looks and feels great the wood texture and chrome and black sub looks amazing.

This subwoofer replaced a 25 year old Yamaha subwoofer which had served well, but it was time to replace it. This one provides clear, un-distorted base in ample quantities. It looks great, and the price was very reasonable.

Excellent speaker for my surround sound amp. Great lows with plenty of sound. Makes everything that we watch sound better, whether it be te!evision, streaming, or DVD\blue ray, no drop in volume or bass. Easy to set up and appears unobtrusive in our living room. I have no negatives to express for this speaker. For its price, it's a winner.

Subwoofers are interesting to review.. They just make low frequency noise. Some are obviously better than others. This unit is different than some others in the bass port is forward firing rather than out the bottom or back. I am not sure of the impact on performance, but in my configuration (3.1) the unit performs well and provides excellent presence in movies and music. For its relatively low price, the unit is a great value.
