Bought the speaker to replace my old poke audio 8-in powered subwoofer. 10-in gives a much deeper base a lot of rumble and fills my room. I have an 18 by 13 room it really rocks the house. I like my base to rumble specially watching Jurassic Park and sci-fi shows. This really fits the bill and is far less than some of the more expensive ones I've been looking at. I paired this with my Sony receiver and 85-in Sony TV this sounds better than the movie theaters

Polk Audio - PSW Series 10" Active Subwoofer - My system has experienced yet another upgrade and the sound clarity is hard to distinguish from the higher end model of the same brand. I was very surprised as to how little of a difference it made compared to the 110 model It's hard to believe this is an entry-level woofer. I would recommend it to someone with an average size room such as mine that is looking to stay within a safe budget. I got one to add to a 7.2 surround sound system. There is now a left and right woofer set up.

The Polk PSW108 (PSW10) subwoofer is a great value

During 3/2017, my Yamaha YST-SW215 subwoofer burned out after 12 years of satisfying use, so I needed a replacement subwoofer. Originally, I wanted to replace this Yamaha subwoofer with the exact same unit. Unfortunately, Yamaha did away with this unit as it existed. The nearest new Yamaha subwoofer that I could use as a replacement lacked the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass in the sound input to the subwoofer. During 4/2017, I found the Polk PSW108 (PSW108) at Best Buy, and it did have the automatic power on feature when there is heavy bass sound in the sound input to the unit, so I bought the PSW108 at Best Buy. Best Buy had the unit on sale at a special price! The Polk subwoofer is bigger, the subwoofer is 10 inches versus 8 inches for the Yamaha subwoofer that I replaced. The overall enclosure of the Polk subwoofer is bigger than the Yamaha subwoofer as well. I am using this Polk subwoofer with a Yamaha surround sound receiver RX-V679 in a 5.1 surround sound speaker setup. This Polk suboofer is a great value. It offers good bass response, and I was able to tailor its sound and performance to my liking by using both the controls that exist on the Polk subwoofer and some settings on my Yamaha surround sound receiver. This Polk subwoofer performs well when playing music or when you view a movie that has special effects with explosions and booms.

This budget Sub is worth more than twice the price (when purchased as an open box item for $125). The sub produces good low frequency sound and is MUCH bigger than I thought it would be. I was looking for a second down firing unit for my home theater setup, but this was too cheap to pass up. The controls on the rear of the unit are easy to manipulate and the connection is easy

For their smallest and lowest cost subwoofer, this packs a punch! I was very surprised at how much depth and volume this produces with no distortion or flutter. This can truly pound it out and yes, even shake the walls. You can adjust the input level on the back of the cabinet as well as being able to adjust the roll-off. You also have a phase switch and another switch for auto-on/off. you have a choice of inputs: regular line level inputs or direct speaker inputs. I've seen reviews where it was said that there's too much distortion or not enough bass (or none at all), noise, etc. This has to do most likely on your choice of inputs and how you adjust the subwoofer and your receiver. To get the optimum performance you need to adjust your levels, roll-off, phase, etc. Once you have them set properly to how you like it I think you'll be pleased. This thing is large, and heavy. It's a sturdy piece of equipment. I love this thing, Polk makes great products. I've used their products before, they have great quality.

I'm very happy with my purchase of this subwoofer. It was easy to setup, although I had to purchase a subwoofer cable separately. I love that the power plug is small and doesn't take up much room on the outlet. Plus, the length is great so that you can set it far away if needed. Sounds great with my setup and packs a nice punch in my system!

I used to have huge floor speakers but wanted to minimize the items in my living room. I have two bookcases and put two Polk bookshelf speakers on the bookcases but was missing good bass so I purchased this sub-woofer and the sound is clearly better with this. Now I have the low end sound that was missing with just the bookcase speakers.

This is a great small subwoofer I can use in a condo with someone living below me. Our walls are relatively thick, but some sound can make its way through so I was on the fence about getting a subwoofer. This one seems to be doing fine providing a little bit of bass without rattling the floors much and without disturbing my neighbors.

Bought this on sale for $100 and it is worth every penny!! I replaced my 8” Polk sub that came with my 5.1 surround system and this was a huge upgrade. Much deeper bass with this unit and the box looks much nicer. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

Love this subwoofer so much, for a moderately cheap price compared to some other high end brands this is worth every penny. I have a Sony sub that is the same size and it doesn't touch this sub. When cranked up the house shakes, and I love it. Most definitely get this if you want to really make your bass boom. Not to mention it looks and feels great the wood texture and chrome and black sub looks amazing.

Bought it to supplement my vintage HK-20 speakers. I'm not driving it hard or loud, but rounds out the low end nicely. Larger than most subs, but I like it for the sound.

This is a powerful subwoofer. I have been very impressed with the sound it puts out. I think there may have been a discrepancy between the online listing and the owners Manuel but in terms of frequency response it will produce sounds as low as 35 hertz. It really shakes the room. This unit was on sale when I purchased it but for the price it really delivers a good punch.

I recently purchased this sub woofer for my new TV/family room setup. I have not owned Polk Audio speakers before - but boy, was I happy. This was a great value at just over $100. It's pretty big (but fits in my corner) and subsequently, pumps out a deep bass. Great way to round out the sound from my 7.1 system. I would recommend this to friends and colleagues and I might even get another one for my downstairs system.

Purchased this product due to brand loyalty. Not disappointed at all! Did have to return the first unit purchased as one of the dials turned with difficulty. Small yet sufficient source of lows to complete my home theater. Much more enjoyable to view my favorite action movies.

Decent subwoofer at a really good price. The room I had it in is really big I felt it wasn't putting out enough power. I ended up returning this model for a bigger 12" sub. For the average sized room this is a perfect subwoofer, especially if you are upgrading your HTIB sub.

I upgraded from a complete speaker set that I purchased 15 years ago. This allowed me to go from an 8 inch 50 watt speaker to a 10 inch 100 watt speaker. There was a massive improvement in sound quality. This gives you plenty of thump without going to overboard with a larger speaker. This is more then enough for your average size space.
