Bought the speaker to replace my old poke audio 8-in powered subwoofer. 10-in gives a much deeper base a lot of rumble and fills my room. I have an 18 by 13 room it really rocks the house. I like my base to rumble specially watching Jurassic Park and sci-fi shows. This really fits the bill and is far less than some of the more expensive ones I've been looking at. I paired this with my Sony receiver and 85-in Sony TV this sounds better than the movie theaters

Polk Audio - PSW Series 10" Active Subwoofer - My system has experienced yet another upgrade and the sound clarity is hard to distinguish from the higher end model of the same brand. I was very surprised as to how little of a difference it made compared to the 110 model It's hard to believe this is an entry-level woofer. I would recommend it to someone with an average size room such as mine that is looking to stay within a safe budget. I got one to add to a 7.2 surround sound system. There is now a left and right woofer set up.

This is a great addition to our surround sound setup. It really enhances the impact of movies and immersiveness of video games. I'm sure you'll like it for music as well. I don't hear any "mudiness" even out-of-the-box with crossovers set as recommended in the manual.

This is an awesome powerful subwoofer! I purchased it it enhance my powerful surround sound speaker. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments with the sound. It’s very easy to set up. It is twice the size of my subwoofer in my bedroom, but that’s not a problem. I am so glad my brother-in-law recommended me to purchase this subwoofer!!!

Bought two of these to expand my Onkyo TX-NR3010 A/V Receiver to 7.2 channels (the .2 being the subs). Only 50 watts sustained each, but x2 = 100 watts. Works well for this system.

I have had this subwoofer going on 4 years now. I purchased on sale in store for $99 dollars. The bass overtures are spot on and can be easily be adjusted. This is not your everyday subwoofer due to the weight and sturdiness. The black accented wood grain is a nice touch. Whatever you play through it the sound and bass just come alive. Movies sound like cinema now. If my family loves then how do I go wrong. Overall this is a A+ purchase and so glad that I found it.

Great Subwoofer for beginner Home Theaters!

I am an @ Home Theater Beginner myself. I’ve never had anything more than a typical 2.1/5.1 Home Sound system with typical “small” speakers. After purchasing a new Home with a room built specifically for a Home Theater, I knew I had to upgrade. So, I found Polk had decent reviews and found these subwoofer/speakers to fit my current budget. Went with a 5.2 setup (2 subwoofers) with a supportive Sony Receiver, and I was quite literally blown away! Never experienced sound like this at home. And I am pretty sure by no means are these the best there is out there. I plan to eventually upgrade my setup in the future. But friends and family all have stated the same “Truly Great Sound” experience. Reminds us of being in an actual Theater. Crisp & detailed.

I mated this sub with a denon receiver. Placed it just to the right of my TV. Sent all low frequency below 80 to sub. Love it. Room size 10x12. At these prices buy 2 if your receiver has 2 outs. Next project? Atmos!

In my opinion this is probably the best sub-woofer for the price. The low's on this are great for movies & even better for music!! If you have a medium to small room/area then it's going to definitely Shake the walls !! The quality of the speaker is very good & not cheap ((Yes there are better subs)) it's a versatile sub at a great price.

I replaced an older sub woofer In which I loved but it had a short. The back of this sub is very similar to my old one. Bought it and it fills the job adequately. I have a large finished basement and with the right calibration it fills it up adequately. I would buy again.

Replaced an old Vizio 5.1 soundbar that was starting to malfunction after 10 years of usage. Went with the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 as the primary component. Decided I needed to get some punchy bass added, and saw some intrepid individuals had been successful in getting the Bose 600 bar to recognize Polk subs as the much more expensive Bose Bass Module 700 via 3.5 to RCA stereo cables. Rolled the dice, picked up this here PSW108, and now I've got a room shaking monster of a sound system and a big smile on my face.

I waited until it came on sale before I bought it, and for the $125 I paid for it, it is worth every penny. The speaker has crossover and volume controls on it, which are perfect for getting the sound dialed in. I am using it in my home office, connected to a Sony 5.1 Dolby surround sound receiver and an Onkyo 6 disc changer. The sub is paired with the new Sony SSCS5 3 way bookshelf speakers with the new super tweeter, which are also amazing little speakers that, for my tastes, are superior to the comparable Polk or Klipsch bookshelf speakers for the warmth of sound and dynamic range. It took a few hours to break in the Polk Audio sub, but once it was broken in, it didn't take long to get the system dialed in to add enough bass and low end sound to really round out the audio experience. I usually listen at lower levels since I am often on the phone, and I was able to adjust things to still get that great bottom end without interfering with my work. And after hours, if I want to crank the system up, it will shake my chair. LOL This is a great sub for the money, but wait to buy it on sale.

While upgrading my 2 channel stereo system for music listening, I needed to replace a 35 year old Polk passive subwoofer. After researching many powered ones, I decided to try the PSW108. Connecting the new 14 gauge wire to the spring clips was a sure thing. Powering it up, there was an immediate sense of the glass being full as the whole musical scene was being completed by the great roundness of the bottom end. In my case, I have noticed that the subwoofer needed about 2 weeks of play to "burn in". The low bass notes became more concise and more in tune - so much so that I had to reverse the phase switch from 180 to 0 (180 sounding better initially). The volume is now set right at 50%, with anything over that just producing a bit of overkill. The low pass control is set just off of the bottom - about 85. I have experimented with these controls as the sub has broken in, and have now found the sweet spot. It is very pleasing to have added this Polk sub to the system. It is quality made and heavy. It is a great value, as it came up on sale as I was researching subs. I am completely satisfied with my purchase of the PSW108. Give it time to break in, listen/adjust, listen/adjust and it will provide that great finishing touch to the musical image. Thank you Polk Audio - I have used your speakers for a long time and will continue to do so.
