I guess I'm odd man out on the rave reviews. I liked the sound of this sub, but I had it only eight months in my home theater setup and it popped a fuse and went dead. I tried another fuse and that got me smoke and a bad electrical smell. Board is cooked. It's under warranty but I have no desire to mess around with it (you get what you pay for, and this was an inexpensive sub). I just bought a Kef sub, which I should have done in the first place (all my other speakers are Kefs). Cost was much higher but I'm sure it will last longer than eight months (I've had Kefs in my home audio and home theater systems since 1978).

This is a very slick looking and if it works a nice subwoofer. However, mine did not work--The box was previously unopened, and even the geek squad guy who set up my new av tuner could not get it to function.

I am an at home music producer. Having a subwoofer is essential for my day to day work. I am not pleased with this purchase. The sound quality was decent for the price. But the fact that the subwoofer blew within 2 months of purchase says a lot about the quality of this product. Would not recommend. On to the next one.

Got this and instantly took it back. Go with the BIC F12. Price matched through Amazon and had it shipped to my house. Hits deep deep bass. Taking this polk back was the best decision ive made. Bic F12 FTW!

Waste of money , goes on sale never tried after a month or two , I’m just 10 minutes or less suddenly heard a distortion after that never ending hummmzzz , tried all in the forum but now im convinced it’s broken even there’s no connection just plugging it . Your hear the Polk sounds hummmmzzzzz . So if you like sound of the bees , get this one !!!

The third party Geek Squad was very polite and did what they could. However I was not sold A cord thst is needed to hook THIS up to my system. Spoke to a couple of people but nothing yet....purchased 6/4th...mostly installed 6/18th..not finished by the cheek Squad yet. Still waiting.....i can't recommend or give stars until it is hooked up.

I went in to Best Buy In muncy and Philadelphia PA needing a surround sound for my store. Nobody had any knowledge on receivers or anything. Only what speakers are the loudest. Awesome... I can't get the other speakers to run through this with any sound other than bass. The people at the store wouldn't return it because it was "open box". This just sucks

1st day I had it hooked up it sounded 'ok' wasn't the deep bass I was hoping for 2nd day it cooked itself. spend a little extra and get a little extra

I purchases an Onkyo amp as part of this whole system. The speakers sounded great the whole 38 days that my amp worked. I'm pretty sure that I'm done with Best Buy. They refused to repair or handle the freight to get it fixed.

I am very disappointed with the subwoofer. I can't really tell if it working as the sound does not change.

It may be my configuration, but I can't get much sound out of this at all. If I can resolve the problem, I'll update my review.

This subwoofer is not good for a high fidelity amp. Can not handle the power.

This subwoofer shouldn't be called a subwoofer because it weak don't take much volume to Max's it out no good deep bass

The speaker is not loud enough for me. I was expecting strong sound for the surround system I purchased.

Returned it, had a boomy sound, not the deep rolling bass. Expected more from a 100+ watt powered sub.

The worst subwoofer, it has a empty sound not a full sound as it should be

This is a low end sub that is better suited for low budget audio system

Purchased this sub woofer to compliment a bedroom 5.1 setup. The sounds that came out of the port on this unit were anything but musical. Even at low volume it sounded like there were squirrels inside the box. Best Buy rep said it must be defective, and replaced. Second unit sounded just as awful. Returned second unit, spent a bit more for a Klipsch. Happy now. :)

I bought this sub to replace my aging jbl sub and it just did not perform well. I already own an excellent pair of Polk towers and this would have completed the set. At lower volumes or gain settings it just would not produce enough bass . Toggling the phase switch made no difference . Turning the reciever volume or the sub’s gain to get any significant bass response would cause the sub to produce a loud sound when the output of the reciever peaked. Having some experience building car audio systems it appears that the port is not properly designed and/or positioned. The odd sound is produced when the sub cone is at or near the extremes of its travel. My old 10” Jbl sub outperformed it with much less cone travel. I returned this sub and bought the Sony Core series 10” sub and it worked flawlessly. For only $10 more the Sony is well worth the money.
