Polk Audio - PSW Series 10" Active Subwoofer - My system has experienced yet another upgrade and the sound clarity is hard to distinguish from the higher end model of the same brand. I was very surprised as to how little of a difference it made compared to the 110 model It's hard to believe this is an entry-level woofer. I would recommend it to someone with an average size room such as mine that is looking to stay within a safe budget. I got one to add to a 7.2 surround sound system. There is now a left and right woofer set up.

Bought two of these to expand my Onkyo TX-NR3010 A/V Receiver to 7.2 channels (the .2 being the subs). Only 50 watts sustained each, but x2 = 100 watts. Works well for this system.

I mated this sub with a denon receiver. Placed it just to the right of my TV. Sent all low frequency below 80 to sub. Love it. Room size 10x12. At these prices buy 2 if your receiver has 2 outs. Next project? Atmos!

I honestly did not need a sub because i felt that my elac speakers gaved me enough bass for my music needs. I have a small room where i have my music/gaming 2.0 set up so i do not really need a lot of bass so i bought this on sale for a little kick in my bass. I use this sub only when watching movies and tv shows where bass is needed. As far as music goes i have this unpluged. The music i listen does not need that much bass. Over all i enjoy this sub but get on sale. This was gets pretty loud and could shake the walls in any room. Note bass is muddy but for the price is fair. If heavy bass is the only thing that matters then yes, buy these but if sound and balance is important then look else where.

I have a Man Cave Extension where I have four Polk Audio Outdoor Speakers wall mounted, two Bookshelf JBL's and this Polk Audio Subwoofer. If gives me that much needed bottom end. All powered by an Onkyo Receiver.

Despite low cost, and even lower-cost as I bought an open-box item, this little sub does no harm, and has no negative traits. I feels subs can be broken into two categories: Music OR Theater. This will NOT rumble your rafters during explosions in action movies, but, will add pleasant bass presence. It is better suited to fleshing out the low-end sounds of music when using main speakers with woofers less than 6" in diameter, in moderate or small rooms. Controls are logical and intuitive, with multiple hook-up options. Noise floor is dead quiet. Neutral-looking, can be placed discreetly in the room. Do not over-use your sub. Most people do. A little sub volume goes a long way. If you are listening to CNN and the newscaster's voice is booming and rumbling, turn the sub down, and/or lower the crossover frequency….both easily done on this sub. Your regular speakers should produce 95% of your normal audio. When a low frequency bass note occurs in a song, or in a movie or TV show, a properly set-up sub will suddenly make it's presence known, and you will smile. Like an alligator or shark gliding just below the surface of the water, you shouldn’t notice the sub until !BAM! it strikes. This sub does that nicely.

This budget Sub is worth more than twice the price (when purchased as an open box item for $125). The sub produces good low frequency sound and is MUCH bigger than I thought it would be. I was looking for a second down firing unit for my home theater setup, but this was too cheap to pass up. The controls on the rear of the unit are easy to manipulate and the connection is easy

I bought this sub to replace the small sub that came with a pre-packaged Yamaha suround system. The Yamaha system worked great but I like by bass and my dad is hard of hearing and likes to crank it up when he is visiting and I was afraid he would damage the small Yamaha sub at higher volumes. The Polk sub is a great upgrade to a quality boxed surround sytem. The bass is clean and when needed, it shakes the walls. I am amazed at the amount of sound that comes out of this little box.

This sub is a great choice if your current sound system lacks the bottom end of the sound range. You'll be surprised at how much fuller your speakers sound when you add this sub. It is very easy to set-up and sounds great for the price. It adds to both music listening and movies. I've heard better subs for a lot more money, but nothing as good at this price.

Purchased this product due to brand loyalty. Not disappointed at all! Did have to return the first unit purchased as one of the dials turned with difficulty. Small yet sufficient source of lows to complete my home theater. Much more enjoyable to view my favorite action movies.

Decent subwoofer at a really good price. The room I had it in is really big I felt it wasn't putting out enough power. I ended up returning this model for a bigger 12" sub. For the average sized room this is a perfect subwoofer, especially if you are upgrading your HTIB sub.

There are better subs out there that have several fold more power and respond well below the 35 Hz that the PSW108 minimum frequency is rated at. Unfortunately I can't afford those subs and find this sub is more than enough for a small to medium size room.

I bought this for my bedroom to have a small theater system in there. I'd say this sub was more than enough to fill my room. It'll get pretty loud and has a decent bass tone. I'd recommend for budget home audio and small home theater settings.

My first subwoofer I've ever owned... Still testing it with Polk Audio Bookshelf speakers... Sound is deep and good....Not sure what will happen if I crank it up to 100%....I'm saving that for STARWARS movie...It's connected to THX Onkyo Amplifier

Worked great with my older sony reciever. Added plenty of thunder. Love the adjustments on the back of the unit makes set up easier and the power saving feature will shut off automatically when the reciever is shut off.

Got this product during a black friday sale to supplement tower speakers in my living room, hooked up to a 1200 watt 7.2 receiver. I did not expect huge sound from the 10" woofer, but it surprisingly fills the 20'x18' living room and another 20' into the kitchen. If you're an audiophile looking to complete your THX theater surround, this is not it. Anything less, this product more than gets the job done.
