This is definitely one of the better Zelda games released in some time.
Pros
-Open world sandbox feel
-Beautiful graphics that really flesh out the world
-Controls are easy to use and easy to learn
-Easy to play on either TV mode or on the tablet
-Game saves automatically and you can also manually save
Cons
-Weapons break in like 5 hits, very annoying and requires you to constantly gather weapons
-Some of the monsters are a bit goofy looking, a little over the top.
Great Game for a Great Console *Possible Spoilers*

Absolutely love this new Zelda game! The graphics are great, it has a wonderfully smooth art style, and great characters. The only thing I don't like is the fact that weapons have durability factors, although it does lend it a sense of realism. People have expressed disappointment with the music, saying it isn't flowy, and that it isn't Zelda-y, but the music, especially the Hyrule Castle music as you climb it, fills me with emotion, and sounds full of purpose. I LOVE the music.

Nintendo was really smart to include this game at launch time. The graphics, gameplay and story are well done! It's awesome being able to take this game on the road! But to be honest, after playing for two and a half months I have lost interest in the game. The replay value is gone and the fact that the new game line up is so thin, I have stopped playing the Switch and I am considering selling it. They set the bar so high with this game that everything else looks boring and weak.

Not since Ocarina of Time have I loved a Zelda game so much. There is so much to do, and such a beautiful landscape to explore. Nintendo put their magic touch into this game. I do loathe the weapon-braking, and weather effects can get quite annoying, but they don't detract from my love for this game. I've put 150 hours into and it and purchased the DLC. I've completed all quests, and I still turn it on and play around in the world just to visit and enjoy myself.

I have always liked the Legend of Zelda series, but ambivalent about open world games. Somehow, this mixture turned into something I truly loved. I never felt to overwhelmed with potential missions, and I always felt like I was doing something valuable when I'd wander off the beaten path. This game lived up to the hype for me, and made ever cent I spent on my Switch worthwhile.

There are not enough words to describe the enormity or awesomeness of "Breath of the Wild". This game is a revelation. It shows an open-world that other games can learn from. There are so many times while playing that I just have to stop and stare in wonderment at the amazing vistas spread out before me, or I'll just be stunned by the unique things I was able to accomplish in the world or one of the shrines. This is a game that everyone should play. It's challenging, yet rewarding.

Certainly the best Zelda game ever. Arguably the best single player open world game ever! Hours and hours of fun honestly. I still haven't completed the game and am still finding all kinds of new interesting areas of the map. I have 120+ hours into the game at this point.

Amazing game-play. From shooting arrows floating in the sky to cutting grass and breaking pots (and much more), this game brought what I remembered from my childhood playing A Link to the Past and today's modern open world concept together beautifully. I've put over a hundred hours on it, beat the game, and still can't put it down. Can't wait for the DLC to come out later this year!

I've been a fan of Zelda for years, so my review could be a bit biased, but believe me when I say it takes a lot for any video game to contest with Nintendo's most famous entry into the Zelda franchise "Ocarina of Time". "Breathe of the Wild" not only contests with "Ocarina of Time", it builds upon what made "Ocarina of Time" great, and expands it immensely. The game is also incredibly moving at times, and the story is classic Zelda.
This game gets my highest recommendation.

Breath of the Wild is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the Zelda universe. I will admit that i was a bit sad to see the tradition of the new items we got to unlock each dungeon go away, and the dungeons themselves have been replaced with small shrines riddled throughout Hyrule. There also aren't any large, difficult Temples to fight through either. This installment of Zelda definitely took a big leap away from what it was before, and built itself from the ground up again. But i don't mean that in a negative way! I have noticed myself time and time again getting into that RPG style A.D.D we all have where we try to get from one side of the map to the other following a waypoint for a mission we were tasked to complete only to find ourselves WAY out of the way about an hour later because we saw something interesting along the way and got distracted and completely diverted our course. I have also noticed that the combat feels very open ended in the way that you can go full force into a group of enemies and swing and chop your way to victory like we always have, or you can play it smart and use the environment to your advantage and push a boulder down a cliff and thin out the enemy presence with ease. I also have to say that the physics of the game surprised me as well- Fighting an enemy when a thunderstorm rolls in makes you want to change your weapons to something that doesn't conduct electricity, or perhaps you want to throw your metal sword at someone when lightning is about to strike, so they get the hearty shock instead of you!
All in all, even though it isn't the classic Legend of Zelda we all grew up with, it is an amazing change of pace that breaks all the traditions in a fantastic way and will provide hours of fun. So much so that you miiight lose track of time and end up accidentally playing until 4am and not realize it!

I love this game, by far the best Zelda game so far, and I’ve played most of them. I like the open world aspect, you can complete things in any order you want. The combat is fun, especially when you use the special abilities. The graphics a good for a switch game, I like the cell shaded quality. My favorite aspect are the shrine puzzles. I love puzzle games and there are hundreds in the game.

Breath of the Wild is a beautiful game. Lots of world to explore and hidden things to discover. Shrine puzzles vary from simple to complex. I purchased the day it was released and have not put the controller down since! I love to see the familiar characters/ monsters/races from previous games and how they reinvented the designs. I've been playing almost all the Legend of Zelda games since the NES and it thrills me to see how far developement has come on this fantastic series.

It will eat your life, but real life is overrated anyway. It has all the expansiveness of an open world game like Skyrim, but keeps the Zelda-style temples and puzzles that make the series what fans know and love about it. I had a copy as soon as it came out for WiiU and just re-bought for Switch. It's worth it for the koroks alone!

Zelda has always been one of my favorite gaming series. Breath of the Wild has taken the Legend of Zelda to new heights. There are some many things to do and accomplish, so many hidden secrets and the depth of exploration is phenomenal. I have yet to finish it, but I always look forward to playing this game every time I pick up my Switch. This game definitely deserves all the Game of the Year awards it has received. Pick this game up as you won't regret it.

This is the same Zelda that we all know and love but now in an open world. You can explore everything right from the start and new gameplay features have bee added. You can now ook food and collect monster parts to raft items adding some elements of rpg. The game is gorgeous and the combat is better now. Recommenced for any fan and those who love a good adventure game.

Got this for my son for his birthday. He played for a week straight until I was able to get a chance to play.
I’m so addicted I want to buy my own switch so I don’t have to share with him.
There’s no reason why this game didn’t get the game of the year award.
Game play mechanics are smooth. Story is excellent. I haven’t been addicted to a Zelda or Nintendo game since the ocarina of time on the N64.
Get a switch and get this game. Period.
