Game offers a HUGE world to explore, with the freedom to complete quests on your own terms/timing. The graphics are great, the story-line is good, the puzzles are challenging. It is both a strategy game and a skill game... I would certainly buy it again. I am very pleased with it.

The Game to Buy for the Switch

First off, I was never a Zelda fan. I've tried some of previous installments such as Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, and the handheld installments. None of them really made me want to continue playing. Breath of the Wild on the other hand has impressed me on multitudes of levels. The Design of the map is pretty flawless with encounters of shrines, enemy's, and NPC's that all felt necessary in this huge open world. The abilities and equipment you gain throughout your journey gives you many options to tackle many obstacles differently (using a boulder to obliterate the enemy or chop a tree down to do your dirty work). The music is sprinkled throughout the game's open world adventures and changes depending on circumstances (fighting a bokoblin or traveling on a snowy mountain). I can go on and on about this game now that I've dived pretty deep into the game, but I don't wanna spoil much and rather let you enjoy the game to the fullest with tons of moments of awe. All I can say is this is the game you'll want to get a switch for atm. It offers enough to cater to newbies, those who've tried past installments but never liked it much, and veterans (they probably already have the game so this review is more for the other two categories).

The last time I played Zelda was a several years ago, now playing on switch is just a great experience all around. Keeps me occupied with the story and challenges. Wish there was a little more tips on the go for a new(refresher) user.

I have played every Zelda since the original on the NES and I can say confidently that this is the best in the franchise. I have been playing for well over 150 hours and I still find new things! The art is beautiful, the story is powerful, and the gameplay is king. This is easily my favorite game of 2017 and probably in my top 5 games ever!

For an actual open world Zelda game, really captures you. Plus, how the heck does Link cook like that, I mean really? It's very tough to get started with in the beginning, but I'm pretty sure it'll get better as you progress.

Link to the Past on the SNES is one of my favorite Zelda games of all time. I've also enjoyed playing Link's Awakening on the GB and Minish Cap on GBA. I tried to get into Twilight Princess but it wasn't doing justice. Yes, I've skipped out on all the Zelda games like on the N64 and Gamecube. They were great games, just never really got back into Zelda until now. OPEN WORLD! I mean I know that's half of what games are nowadays, but in Zelda? Wow. I mean everything about the game is different. The fighting mechanics are intuitive now, need to think about your strategy before going in because the AI are pretty smart in this game. You can customize Link now(not sure if you were able in previous Zelda games, grab random weapons in the game, but I think the biggest feat of all is to go about how you want to play the game. It really doesn't lead you by the hand. Your experience will differ than someone else's even though you are playing the same game. I could go on about this....in the end you're just going to have to play the game yourself in order to understand. If you have amiibos, certain ones give you awesome items in the game! Previous items you can get are from previous certain Zelda games, but I won't spoil what it is ;)

Have poured in 200 hours plus and still haven’t found everything. Such a massive game with incredible mechanics. My only complaints, if there needed to be any, were that the dungeons and shrines were so repetitive and the weapons were not legendary and fragile as toothpicks. And where is my hook shot?!?

Excellent game! Fans of Legend of Zelda will love this game! At first I was hesitant because of the open world aspect, and thought it was gonna be overwhelming but I was so wrong! There’s so much to do in the game and just makes you want to keep playing!

This is an absolutely incredible game. The areas are so vast, bigger than skyrim. Great game play innovative story line. The best of the Zelda series to date. Plus expansion packs coming!!! This is a must have title for the Switch. Can't say enough good things about this game!!!

This game has exceeded my every expectation. I was not a huge fan of Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword so I was worried that this would be more of the Same. I couldn't have been more wrong. The sense of exploration is amazing. And it's not just an empty world, there are things to collect and discover along the way. I can't recommend this game enough!

Breath of the Wild is by far one of the best games I have ever played, with beautiful art, amazing music, and a stunning world with so much to explore you could spend hours in just one town and keep discovering new aspects of it. Combining direct combat, strategy and puzzles, this game has a balance which can suit numerous gaming styles.

I really like this game, and can easily recommend it to others. I know many other games go over its strengths such as the graphics, open word exploration, call back to the earliest title, and more. And, while I agree with most of the praise, I do not care for how it asks for so much patience from the gamer. Whether it is traveling on foot to a land far away, searching for a really well hidden shrine, cooking food on dish at a time, or painfully, slowly climbing up mountains (Just to be knocked off half way up by rain), this game demands quite a bit of patience on your part. While not a deal breaker, this type of stuff stresses me out, rather than relaxing me or challenging me in meaningful way. Still,it is fun and you should not miss this if you own a Switch.

This is an excellent game. The gameplay mechanics are superb and the world is filled with more to see and do than we've ever seen in a Zelda game. It's true that this game does make a number of departures from the Zelda franchise that disappointed me...Breakable weapons, in particular, are a frustrating addition. But the game is excellent overall.

The legend of zelda a does not leave you dissapointed the game keeps you wondering and interested in the story right from the start. There is no shortage of places to explore enemy to kill and treasures to find. The map is HUGE and yet it oozes rich content from coast to coast.

I’m not going to lie. I’ve owned this game since I bought my switch, but about a year ago, I sold it because I didn’t play it much at the time. Over the months, I grew to really miss the game. I realized I sold it prematurely and obsessed over gameplay videos for weeks until I finally caved in and bought it again. I really don’t regret buying it again even though I could have bought something I needed like a microSD card had I just waited to sell it. The fact of the matter is that I needed this game back in my life. When I first bought it, I would have said it was wildly overrated, and I do think it is somewhat over what overrated; however, I do have to say, it’s a really great game. I wouldn’t spoil it for anyone, but it takes mechanics from other games and just incorporates them in the Zelda universe. It’s basic enough, but it works. I would rate it 4.5/5, but I’ll go up to 5 stars over 4.

TLDR Buy the game and get a battery backup if you plan to play the game on the go. I really enjoy this game. It is different than any previous Zelda game and at first I was hesitant. As time went on I really began to enjoy the game and starting becoming immersed in the world. After an hour or so through the tutorial area you are given free reign to go wherever you want. As time went on I began to really enjoy the world and going around doing things. As a fan of Zelda from the classic NES days I can say that this is a great change for the series. It takes a few hours, but after that time you begin to find yourself wanting to try out new things and do things previously you never could in old Zelda games. This game has lots of item you can invest in it and I really enjoy it. The only things about the game that is frustrating has to do with the switch itself. I found myself not quite used to the two trigger buttons and had to get used to them with my sausage fingers. The other is that this game sucks the living life out of the switch. Even plugged into a portable battery the game slowly dies. I play this game when I fly for my job and have to plug it in the battery ASAP so it drains the battery slower.

So much fun and brings back memories for me having played the original “legend of Zelda” I haven’t even played this. I watch my kids play it and have so much fun strategizing and exploring for the things they need to accomplish.
