I bought this PrimaPhoto tripod because I left my old tripod at home, and I needed one fast. This one looked OK, I never heard of the brand, but the demo model looked as solid as the Manfrotto tripod, but the Manfrotto wasn’t available, so I bought the PrimaPhoto. It is a sturdy tripod and held my camera very solidly. It is quite versatile and compact when stored. It also doubles as a mono-pod, so I can leave my mono-pod at home now. Yay me!

    Strong Little Tripod

I bought this tripod to use with a large digital camera specifically to capture a moon photo during the "Super Moon" event. I was looking for a minimum size tripod with ability to hold a larger camera. This tripod does the trick. Very strong and rugged. I like the quick release features of the ball head. Plus it accepts my other Manfrotto PRO ball head. I wish there were a bigger/taller version of this tripod to hold a 25-30 pound camera lens combination for portrait and wildlife shots. It is well worth the money. I did mount a camera and 200-500mm lens just for weight test. (See photo...don't laugh at mounting... it is just a test) PS the moon photo turned out great!

I was looking for a good midrange travel tripod that could support greater than 10lbs. Found it. Solid tripod securely holds my heaviest setup- Canon 7D with 1.4xTC & 70-200. Decent ball head. Smooth adjustment and quick and solid lockdown. Rubber on adjustment knobs could be tighter fit, but still provides enough grip while turning knobs. My arca swiss plates fit fine. You may have to remove the bottom setscrews on smaller/shorter (50mm) arca plates for plate to fit in clamp. I have a 60mm plate that fits either way but easier to mount with setscrews removed. It's a minor annoyance. Still give five stars since it exceeds my expectations for a midrange tripod.

This turned out to be incredibly useful. Compact, portable, fairly light... It was the perfect tripod to take on a trip and even more perfect for use with a small camcorder or camera.

For photography on the go or just local pictures this tripod is a must have. It is compact, light, portable and has a slick feature where one of the legs convert to a monopod. It also comes with a great ball head with adjustment markings for when complete accuracy is needed. If you need a tripod and don't want to spend $600 then this model is definitely for you.

The tripod is very light but feels very solid. The structure/design is simple and feels very reliable; there is no complex mechanism that leaves room for error on this tripod. A very compact, capable travel tripod in general.

We own a commercial photography company and we have pretty large cameras and mounts, we needed something that was more than just regular use. After trying several, we got this one and it's been really great. Additionally, because we're doing a lot of 360 photography, not having pieces stick out saves us a lot of post production time.

I have purchased many different tripods over the last couple years and I have to say this is by far the best one I bought. It is super stable and solid. The semi pro head and rail are metal and properly sturdy. Definitely recommend as a solid buy!

I have to say that I'm impressed by this tripod. The break down and setup time is much better than my old tripod. I particularly like the leveling bubbles incorporated into the mount. I didn't think much of it at first, but when I started using them, I found them to be very useful. Mounting of the camera plate could have been quicker, but it's not a deal breaker. I use the tripod with my video camera for taping sporting events and it is great for that application. Every now and then a ball will find it's way to the stand, but the stand has held it's ground and not fallen down.

The Positive: I was looking for a tripod that could be converted into a monopod as well; this item has fit the description. I was looking for tripod that is very compact and portable, yet could be extended; this unit has fit the description. I purchased a first one about 2 months ago and I liked it, that's why I ran to purchase a second one when I noticed that it was on sale. The cons: It seems a bit flimsy and I can see the multi-position head (ball) becoming somewhat loose after some or heavy usage.

I bought a cheaper silver tripod before this one and it broke within days. This one is set up all day everyday and still stands firm. It doesn't wobble. It's a great tripod.

This is no super sturdy tripod but I knew that when I purchased it. It serves my purpose for a light portable tripod when on the go in City parks and downtown.

Great tripod for the price, comparable to my $300 tripod. I use it for travel with my Sony a99ii with a 70-200 lens, no major issues. Only slight issue and I think this is true of all ball head is that when thightening the tripod the camera moves just so slightly that sometimes the framing is off, you will only notice this on macro or at 400mm and up. Not a deal breaker but like i said most low to mid range ball heads will have this issue. If you want something without this issue then go with highend pro stuff or go with pan head. The monopod is nice touch but not the easiest to access, so don't plan on changing back and forth between mono and tri, you find it more troublesome than it's worth, instead pick one format and go with it. Last issues is that the legs are very stiff, they provide a hex wrench to adjust but it's hard, a slight turn and it becomes too loose and slight reverse and it's too thought again, maybe others will have better luck than me. Overall still a great tripod for the price. And I would buy again if I ever lost it, or broke it.

The Tripod I think has sturdy legs and the weight is good enough to support a Canon Vivia Videocam. To support an SLR camera, I think the shoe connector should have been constructed more sturdy than currently is. That is the reason I only give it four stars.

This tripod is light and easy to adjust and use. I like the ease of attaching and removing the camera from the mount. I can tilt it in any direction I want, turn it into a monopod and it even has a built in level. Love it.

Bought this tripod to use for travel and so far, it's exactly what I needed. Very stable and easy to setup. Seems comparable to more expensive models but at half the price.
