My wife got me this to try out for fun. The camera works pretty well I have taken several short videos and pictures. The drone can be difficult to control, I still cant seem to get it to fly in one place for very long, even after trying to adjust it, it likes to move/turn, and I cant get it to adjust correctly. But for the price it works okay, runs for about 5 minutes before battery is too weak to stay up.

GREAT LITTLE DRONE - FOR AVERAGE LITTLE MONEY

I'm a fairly avid drone user at this point, and currently own 15 drones of all sizes, models, brands, number of rotors, capabilities, etc. This particular drone is actually one of my favorites due to the following:
1) It's lightweight enough to be extremely maneuverable, agile, and best of all quick(there's a difference between "quick" and "fast"). It's also compact and dense enough to have enough weight to not be affected to much when operating outdoors in windy conditions.
2) It has bright enough LED's to maintain visual contact in lower light, as well as your directional control or orientation (green is forward, red is backward) so your not running into things.
3) It's constructed of high enough grade plastic that a few inadvertent crashes won't break it (I've had to shut it down before I lost it in a tree and it's crashed from a height of about 30-40 feet straight down, and the WORST damage it's sustained was a broken lower landing leg, which is easily replaced and comes with replacement parts).
4) It syncs flawlessly with the remote every time, and responds to commands from the remote with no delay. Ie, it does and goes where you want it to when you want it to.
5) Battery life if consistent, you get about 15 minutes of actual flight time. It takes about 45 minutes to fully charge. Oh, and the LED's on board will actually flash at a different/faster interval when the battery is running low so you'll know when it's time to bring it in and not have the thing just drop out of the sky on you.
6) The camera on board is a nice feature, and takes fairly good photos and video.
You can buy this drone with confidence, it'll take a beating, it's fun, it does exactly what it's supposed to right out of the box.

This drone is definitely a good drone for someone who plans on upgrading to something more serious. There's no point in spending 500 dollars or more if you can't fly a 100 dollar drone! As stated, it certainly has some nice features you see in more expensive drones such as a built in camera (although it's not quite HD, I believe it runs at approximately 640 i but don't quote me on it) and has a nice remote control which allows for doing 360 flips, snapping photos and recording 45 minutes of video (make sure you have a decent amount of sunlight as this isn't a night vision camera.) One of my favorite features about this set up is the ability to change speeds. There are 3 different speeds you can go which is a lot of fun. The drone goes quite high for it's size and does a great job due to the 6 axis remote and the built in gyro. It's got a great chrome finish as well as bumper guards to protect your drone from breaking it's props and believe me, when you're starting out, you're going to crash A LOT! They are also nice enough to include 4 extra props as well as 4 MORE rail guards. Battery life is short as expected (about 7 minutes on a 45 minute charge.)
All in all, a great beginner drone which will allow you to have a ton of fun and learn the basics of flying a drone!
**** NOTE: Unlike the description, this drone comes equipped with a 2 GB Micro SD card, not a 1 GB. ****

Small Drone

The drone flies ok indoor and outdoor. only thing is it is small. The battery is very small and must be pulled out of the housing to charge. Also, the charging ports are very small and can be difficult to separate. It does not charge simply through a usb port. It is difficult to use the pic and video options of the droid.

After about 15 flights, you get the hang of it. The video and photos only works well in good outdoor light; one of the landing feet broke after multiple crashes (expect a lot of crashes at first). It is fun to fly; wish the battery lasted longer than 7 minutes; take about an hour to charge and you have to unplug the battery each time. This was the first drone I've used, so I would say it's average.

Great RC with great capabilities for its size. Fast and fun to fly in the yard. Fairly durable after a few crashes and I'm used to flying but everyone crashes at some point. Still working great too. Wish it came with 2 batteries or longer battery life. Under 15 mins flight time is just not enough. But fun RC anyhow.

This drone is pretty small. My son was able to fly it right away. We haven't taken it outside but I am skeptical if it can fly in Oklahoma winds. The fly time is pretty short and the battery takes longer to charge than the amount of flying. It doesn't stream video to a phone or tablet.

Weellll this is our families first drone. First off it's really small for the price lol! But hey that's ok... Then we got to reading the manual...
We were really disappointed that it says you only get 7minutes of flight time for 1 hour of charging..
And you really get only get 7 minutes..... We charged it for little over an hour and went to the park and it died sooooo fast!
Granted we have not charged it for longer to see if it will give us longer flight time, but it sucks that the instructions say not to over charge it but yet you don't know how long is too long....
Hopefully we can get longer flight time with more charging if not I plan on taking it back if I can! What a waste...
Flying it was cool and easy though!

This item is much smaller than it looks. Make sure to go to a Best Buy and look at it before you buy it. The camera is cheap. Overall pretty good but it will be nice to see the price of these drones come down.

Thanks to the store specialist on this one! I was considering another drone and he quickly suggested I take a closer look at the Protocol unit. It has been very good for a first time drone pilot. The controls are well organized, not too sensitive, and the unit was small enough to fly in the garage - important for a snowy Christmas day! About the only way this could be better is if the battery held a longer charge.

I enjoyed flying this little drone. Takes good pictures. Be careful when just flying for the first time to adjust the trim tabs. After that it's easy to fly. I even fly it indoors. Would recommend for an inexpensive and fun quad copter.

I received this quadracopter as a birthday gift. It is a lot of fun to fly. I've only flown it indoors as it is prone to climb and keep climbing until it hits the ceiling. I can only image that if I did that outdoors that it would keep going until out of sight and out of range. After a few hours of flying indoors though, it became easier to fly it and keep it from hitting the ceiling. The photos and video that the camera takes is very basic quality (certainly not HD), but acceptable enough to use in a simple iMovie trailer video that my daughter made.

This drone seems to be on par with other "beginner" drones I've seen. I've had a lot of difficulty getting this one to operate the way I would want. I don't like the short battery life either. If I had to do it over again, I would have searched around a little more carefully. This drone is very average.

I only had this drone for 4 days before a motor broke apart. The battery life is only 5 minutes so i didn't get much use out of it in that time. I noticed the body of the drone started to separate after my first few flights, but the plastic body that the screws went into were already stripped out of the box. I am returning this and will buy a different brand. I would not recommend this. The video wasn't bad, but that was about it.
