Excellent game fantastic graphics for anyone who loves shooter games you will thank me when you play it!

This is a difficult game, there's is a checkpoint system and you have don't have health/shield bars. Rewards accuracy and memorization like most shmups, waited a long time for this one and I was not disappointed.

Classic R-Type side-scrolling shooter (yes, the true shooter genre) action; just as hard as you remember. I do prefer sprite graphics to the 3D stuff, but I'll take what I can get! Loading times are kind of annoying on this, but not sure if it might be better on other systems. Wish the first stage music energized you like R-Type III's rendition of the original R-Type's 1st stage music. This one tends to slog along like R-Type Final did. Not really a fan of the atmospheric stuff. Plenty of ships to unlock and customize. Seems like a bunch of negatives, but then this is tried and true R-Type game play, so good on that.

It's not the best R-type by any means, but it's a worthy addition to the franchise. It's very difficult, as most SHMUPS are, so I would probably only recommend it for fans of the series or SHMUP fans in general. It's a good game, though.

Great game. A must if your into these types of games. Also comes with some extra goodies in ghe box besides the game itself.

I’ve been waiting for this and let me say, it was beyond worth it!!! Growing up in the arcades during the 80s and 90s, this brought back so many memories. Nostalgia helps this game, but it’s also a very well done remake. Glad I bought it. The additions are cool, but loving the music and gameplay of R-Type!

R-type is a classic series and this game continues its wonderful legacy. Tight gameplay with an even paced difficulty, you won't mind playing through the game multiple times to unlock the over 100(!) ships. Crisp graphics, a cool soundtrack, and even frame rate make this game a winner.

Brutally hard! Tons of ships and a nice modern look to this entry in the R-type series. This game is super hard and pretty long for a shooter making it one of the hardest games to beat that I've played. There's a ton of ships from the other games and lots of customization aesthetically you can do to them as well.

Great game, brings back the series soul. A bit hard for some players its going to give you a run for your money. Good graffix and great soundtrack. worth a buy in anyones collection. Unlocking new ships is easy, NOT costly.

Wow love this collectors edition!! A must own for all switch physical game collectors and players! I baught two! One to play and the other to keep sealed! This is a must own and such a great deal!

This is a must have if you are a R-Type fan. It is very faithful to the series. It looks and plays great on the Switch. Having the art book and soundtrack is am awesome bonus. I highly recommend.

Was doing the R-Type thing back in the arcade days, then on to the Sega Master system and Turbografx! Then over to the Super NES. You get the picture.

This was the first shump game i purchased. It is very fun. A little difficult to learn at first but eventually get the hang of it after blowing up 20 times.

This game...this game is as difficult as ghost n goblins. Get ready to be frustrated. Once completed.....you will be happy
