As far as laptops go, the 2020 Razer Blade 15 Advanced is definitely in the top of it's class. The biggest issue with ALL laptops is intel 10th generation CPUs. They are mostly rebranded 9th gen cpu's pushing higher voltages yeilding higher watts, higher temperatures and overall poor performance for being a step up from 9th gen. Razer is unique. Razer is the only manufacturer this year to produce one of the best coolers of any laptop I've ever worked with (which includes ASUS, MSI, Apple, Dell, Alienware, etc.). Razer chose to wrap their chassis around Intel's 8-core i7-10875H CPU (re-branded i9-9980h CPU with better clocks and higher voltages) instead of the i9-10980h/k. Even with a vapor chamber, Razer's cooling system was no match for the 10th gen i9 class mobile cpu's. Look at some MSI reviews of the gs-series with the 10th gen i9's (nicknamed fireball for all the thermal throttling). Long story short, the hardware was chosen appropriately, the cpu boosts past 5ghz as advertised, temperatures are elevated but considering the class of hardware and the form factor of the laptop, elevated temperatures should be expected. I experience no thermal related issues with the hardware and have been working and gaming on the laptop for the past 6 months everyday. The included 2080Super mobile max-q is powerful enough to play 4K games, although the FPS will be around 60 in moderate detailing. The biggest change that didn't get enough attention in my opinion were the changes Razer did to the ports. Now I can finally use my CalDigit TS3+ Thunderbolt dock which lets me connect a single cable to my laptop which offers 95w of charging, connects all my peripherals and video out to my exernal 4k monitor. This is a new feature I've begged Razer to add and they finally did (which was one of the only reasons last year I ran an MSI GS75 Stealth 9SG. Goodbye MSI and Hello Razer. No looking back.

I had originally purchased the blade 4k OLED base model and loved it, but that 60hz refresh rate killed it for me, so I returned it and picked the 2020 Razer Blade advanced 15 RTX 2080 Super and this machine is a beast!! It's excellent for playing games and its compact sleek design is perfect for school as well. However, I do miss that mercury white and that beautiful OLED panel, but ultimately I am beyond satisfied with my decision. I'm currently running Doom Eternal at 150-200 fps, Overwatch 150-200 fps, COD Warzone 130+ fps, and it just makes the overall feel and looks of games much better. The fans are great, they can get loud while gaming but it's not an overwhelming annoying loud, the RGB keyboard and trackpad are best in the biz lmo, screen resolution, and color is awesome, and the speakers I feel are pretty decent. Overall, this laptop is incredible and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end gaming device as well as a laptop for productivity.

I also have an Asus Zephyrus GA503. Both are excellent. Razer has a superior quality, the RTX 2080 Super is clearly superior to the RTX 3070 from Asus, however Asus has the processor (Ryzen) that is clearly superior to the Razer (i7). So for gaming this Razer excels. If I needed more processing power for some work, and I was going to play without demanding the best possible graphics, I would choose Asus. Now if I want the best graphics, and a little better quality, the Razer. I upgraded to 2x 16Gb 2933mhz of Ram, and changed the NVMe for another 2Tb Samsung Evo Plus. The laptop looks amazing!

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Razer Blade 15 Advanced and the Razer Bade 17 Pro though both versions have the same specs besides the display resolution and size, the Razer 15 Advanced includes a 15.6''inch Full-HD(1920x1080) - 300Hz display while the Razer Blade 17 Pro has a 17''inch (4K) - 120Hz display, both versions are equipped with 16GB Dual-Channel (8GB x 2) DDR4-2933MHz, 1TB SSD (M.2NVMe), 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10875H 8 Core (2.3GHz/5.1GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER with Max-Q (8GB GDDR6 VRAM).
The end result was I ended up returning the Razer Blade 17 Pro as an exchange for the Razer Blade 15 Advanced because it runs most if not all games at Full-HD/Ultra/High settings getting around 60-120 FPS while the Razer Blade 17 Pro performs (Okay or Badly) depending on the set Resolution scale and a video-games set graphical settings.
Keep in mind if you plan on buying the Razer Blade 17 Pro
it's not (recommended) playing new games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Star Wars Battle Front II at 4K resolution with graphical settings set to Ultra and Ray-Tracing turned on if so expect to get around 15-28 FPS. Now you can obviously lower a video-games graphical settings to High/Medium/Low at 4K without Ray-Tracing turned on but only except a small FPS boost of around 28-30 FPS or maybe slightly higher while the other solution is to lowering the native resolution to 2304x1440 or 1920x1080 but expect some icons and Images to look smaller and some video games may look somewhat blurry, this is because you would be lowering the recommended Native 4K resolution to a non-native resolution such as Full-HD 1920x1080p.
So my best advice for most hard core gamers is to opt-out from buying the 3,699 dollar Razer Bladed 17 Pro laptop and buy the Razer Blade 15 Advanced or wait 6 to 10 years till Nvidia releases the next generation RTX 40 series Max-q graphics.

This laptop is a beast. It’s gorgeous, packs a great GPU/CPU, and runs all the games you could want at solid settings. The 300hz panel has some backlight bleed but overall is really nice (and extremely fast). On battery, the laptop only lasts about 2ish hours, which is to be expected when running such high end hardware.

A really great laptop, all around. Everything works as advertised, with no pre-installed bloatware or other nonsense. Perfect for day-to-day use in addition to hard-core gaming. It runs Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption II at higher settings, getting 60+ fps at 1080p. Older games look super smooth thanks to the absurd 300 hz refresh rate. The SSD is spacious and lightning fast.
The fan is relatively quiet. It does get a little hot when the GPU is in use, but that should be expected with a beast like this. Invest in a good lap desk if you’re planning to do any gaming on the sofa.
I also appreciate the understated design, which lacks all the embarrassing “gamer” frippery found on similar laptops. The keyboard layout is improved from earlier models and feels good to use. There are plenty of ports and an SD reader.
All in all, an excellent desktop replacement that should get you through the next generation of games, provided you’re content with 1080p (I am). Pricey, but definitely worth it.

Fantastic high end gaming laptop

This is hands down the best high end gaming laptop on the market in terms of design aesthetic, cooling, travel/portability, performance, and features. There are other laptops on the market that can beat this out in performance, but they suffer in some area to compensate whether it's cooling, portability/weight/size, or functionality. Razer gets very close to some of the best performing gaming laptops on the market all while fitting it into a lightweight, aesthetically pleasing fully aluminum unibody chassis. Now that they've improved on the 2019 model by upping the refresh rate to 300 Hz, increased the size of the right shift key to a normal sized shift key, and included a SD card slot and USB-C port I don't see a competitor that comes close to the Blade 15. My only gripe is not to buy from Razer directly due to their horrible customer support, and to purchase from a third party like Best Buy. Their warranty and support are better as long as you purchase an extended warranty (which is a must on a high end product like this). If you don't purchase the warranty you're doing it wrong.

This laptop is an absolute beast. Can run almost any game at high framerates and high detail and can double as a solid workstation if needed. When it comes to gaming laptops, nothing will match the sleek look and thin profile of the Razer Blade. And since it's Razer, you know it will be a high quality product. I will say that the standard $3000 price tag for this is pretty high all things considered, so if I wasn't able to get this for about half off I probably would have gone with a more budget option.
Also beware: this laptop runs very hot, even when not under any intense workload. The fans on the bottom of the laptop are very effective though, and they are placed where your hand would likely be when gaming, so while the laptop heats up, you don't really feel it unless you move your hand off of the WASD keys.

This is my second gaming laptop and it’s a beast! I play modern warfare and it’s night and day from my previous laptop. Keyboard and touch pad are top notch quality. It does get hot but it’s expected. Graphics look great and crystal clear. I love how you can use the software to tweak the GPU, CPU and fan settings to get the best performance. It is pricey but you get what you pay for.

I've been a fan of Razer laptops, and this is probably one of the best (if not best) gaming laptop in terms of aesthetics, performance, and design in general. However, it comes with a hefty price. I would definitely give it a 5 star if it wasn't for the price.

Been using this for the last two or so years. It can run everything in high settings if you use the laptop’s monitor. I highly recomend gettjng the laptop stand razer has for any of their laptops. It really allows the computer to cool off and breath during game play.

Been using it as my primary gaming machine for the last month. 0 problems. Doesn't come with preinstalled bloat (with the exception of Razer's own software for RGB). Fans aren't too loud. 300mhz refresh is amazing. I've pumped up everything to highest levels gaming-wise, and since it's 1080p everything is silky smooth. Great machine. Only complaint would be that it's a finger print magnet. I really wish this version came in the white configuration.

The 2020 Razer Blade 15 RTX 2080 Super is a great computer that is improved upon in several key area compared to it's predecessor. The inclusion of things like a larger right shift key, power over USB-C, and an 8 core prosesser are a much welcomed addition. The computer also performs quite well with a level of power on par with flagship desktop computer from only a years ago with the 2080 Super Max Q being on the level of a GTX 1080 Desktop card. The only place I think could be improved upon is the display. While it is very good there is some degree of backlight bleed that is noticeable when watching darker content but is by no means a deal breaker.

This machine has performed well for me over. While I don't think Razer is consistent across product lines, they deliver the best build quality when it comes to windows gaming laptops.
While I didn't end up upgrading any of the components, it was nice to know I could upgrade storage and memory.
The performance is what you would expect. Very capable at playing games on the go. Good for productivity too. Battery life is not something you are going to get, even if you are just web browsing or doing basic office tasks. I've hardly ever used it not plugged in.
While the 300hz screen is nice on paper, the hardware is not going to be able to take advantage of it. So I always lowered the refresh rate to save power. Only case I can say it was a benefit was if you really want a smooth snappy desktop and work app experience.
It does get hot, and easy to get the fans revving up and making a fair amount of noise. I bought little feet to stick under it which helps in a couple ways. The added room to breath allows better airflow for better cooling, and less turbulent airflow so it's also less noisy and less annoying of a pitch.

The build quality of the razer rivals that of the macbook. No cheap plastic. Powerful GPU and flawless screen. The only complaint I have is the power brick is rather large and uses a stiffer cable to the laptop. Rock solid unit that performs like a racecar.

Great choice for content creators or 3D modelers

I am a content creator and work with 3D models. I need a lot of horse power. So when I had to return my (3 yr) work issued Dell "workstation" laptop, I looked at getting a comparable model and nothing was cheaper than $5K!
So I focused on "gaming" style laptops. They give you a lot more bang for your buck compared to "workstation" laptops.
I shopped around for some time and found a lot of good choices from MSI, Asus, Gigabyte etc. But all had varying levels of a "plasticky" feel to me. The fit and finish was good but not great. Alienware was great but just as pricey as Dell.
Now the Razer Blade to me is on-par with Apple quality. Everything about it is top notch including the packaging. I have two MBP and it was an experience to open up that cool white box. The Razer doesn't disappoint in that department. It's body is made from one solid piece of aluminum. As soon as you pick it up, you feel the quality in your hands. BUT, it is a finger print magnet! I am wiping it down almost everyday.
The other thing I like about this laptop is that it has a more professional appearance. The others (MSI, Asus etc.) have a ton of RGB lighting everywhere and look like a fighter jet taking off. The Razer Blade keyboard does have RGB with Razer Chroma to control of colors, patterns etc.
The keyboard is probably its' weakest link. It's ok. Not as good as MBP but close. If you do a lot of typing (which I don't), then you may want to try before you buy.
I like the port configuration with USB-C and Thunderbolt 3.
Keep in mind that the Advanced model does not have an ethernet connection but does have a full SD card reader. The Base model is the opposite (no SD reader but does have ethernet).
My current setup has Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Blender, Lumion, Twinmotion, Gimp, and Davinci Resolve. All programs run great with out any issues.
Overall, very happy with my purchase. In the PC gaming laptop world Razer is leading the pack.
