Customers admire the Blade 15.6" Gaming Laptop's performance, build quality, and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its ability to handle demanding tasks and deliver excellent frame rates. However, some users express concerns regarding battery life, overheating issues, and the noise produced by the cooling fans. The laptop's speakers also received negative feedback. While some found the weight acceptable, others noted the susceptibility of the device's surface to fingerprints.

I have really been enjoying my Razer Blade. Nice & Quiet, 1920 X 1080 resolution and runs cool with it’s double fans. I thought it might be a little faster with the i7 ninth generation processor, but it’s still good. I like it more than my MacBook.

There are plenty of reviews about how good this is for gaming from both professional media sites and purchasers, so I won't duplicate them and just say it's great for that. My primary need was for laptop with great video/audio editing and this fills that need almost perfectly. This is replacing a 13-inch HP Spectre 2-in-1 Ultrabook that weighs about 3 pounds. Even though this is 50% heavier, at about 4.6 pounds, it still seems light and is comfortable when being used on my lap. With a very narrow bezel around the screen it is not that much bigger than the 13-inch HP even with a 15-inch screen that is 2.3 inches larger diagonally than the HP. It does not have a numeric keypad on the right, so that also saves space. Speakers are on top next to keyboard and provide good sound. The HP was not purchased for video/audio editing and was not purchased for that reason, so this is fulfilling new needs that the older HP could not fulfill. I also looked at HP but found the Razer 15 gave much more bang for the buck. Razer's pre-sales support via online chat was excellent, the best I've had in a long long time and definitely gave me the confidence to purchase this laptop. I found only three things that don't care for and cause me to drop this to a 4-star rating: 1) Great cooling with fans on the bottom, but the screens over them are thin and flexible. If you pick up the laptop while fans are running, and your fingers hit the cover screens, they will flex and you will hear them scraping on the fans. I don't like this but now that I know it I'm just pay more attention to how I pick it up when it is running. 2) As some others have stated it shows fingerprints so easily and distinctly. 3) My biggest gripe is about the labeling of the number keys and punctuation keys... they are labeled backwards. Most computer and typewriter keyboards for over 50 years will show punctuation marks over the numbers, like the @ symbol over the "2". This means you get the "2" when pressed alone and you get the "@" when you hold the shift key. But this keyboard is backwards showing you the @ symbol UNDER the "2". Not so bad there, but it can really mess with you on the keys with periods, commas, quotation marks, colons, and more. These are shown opposite from conventional keyboards. This, to me, is designing something different just to be different. It adds no value and actually detracts from the functionality as it might make you have to ask yourself "do I hold the shift key down or not to get the period character?" You don't, but the period is shown above the ">" key so you might think you should. None of this is enough for me give a bad rating. Still highly recommended and I would purchase it again. But I hope Razer will address these issues in upcoming models.

Got this laptop a few days ago and I'm loving it! Great size for work and gaming. I've listed a few pros/cons so far. Pros: 1) Very, very fast 2) Lots of customization options for the keyboard 3) Slim, thin design 4) Beautiful display 5) No fps issues with the games I typically play (BDO, FF XIV , L4D2, DQ, etc.) Cons: 1) Fingerprint magnet 2) Keyboard/key placement 3) The bottom half can get pretty HOT 4) Short battery life (little over 2 hours on battery, with keyboard lights on and watching videos)

This is an amazing laptop with excellent performance. The laptop built is excellent and my, how gorgeous it is. Now reason why I didn't give 5 stars. There are a few things I don't like so much about this laptop. For starters, the battery doesn't last 5 to 6 hours on low load. I left it many times running nothing on the system with no background apps and the most I got was 2 hours at best. Another thing I dont like, the right FN key is in a very weird place, I use different types of laptops at work every day and when I use this one at home I always hit that right FN when I was reaching for the right arrow key. Lastly, this one is at least understandable, it gets Hot! This laptop gets real hot when running games. Other than those issues all else is positive if you don't mind the price tag lol.

This is a great laptop. High refresh rate. Battery life is so so (much expected from a windows laptop with a dedicated gpu). Build quality is by far the best for a windows laptop i've come across. 512gb SSD is too small, but easily upgradeable with an ifixit kit and a new NVME SSD. If used for heavy gaming, would go for the RTX 2070 instead of the RTX 2060

Had this for about a month now and love it so far. Upgraded from a 7 year old HP Pavilion to this hot rod. It Felt like stepping out of a Yugo and into a Ferrari. My local Best Buy had an open box for $1,850 and I managed to haggle it down to under $1,700 so I got a pretty good deal on it. As far as performance, it handles everything I can throw at it. Usually a mix of some moderate gaming plus some YouTube and Netflix. It can get pretty warm, borderline hot, running some of the newer games but keep the underside clear so it can breath and it’ll do fine. The build quality is very nice, comparable to my wife’s MacBook Air. The screen is great as well with small bezels and excellent picture quality. An added bonus is that most of the hardware inside is user upgradeable. Overall I’m satisfied with it. Only question mark I have left is the durability/longevity of it. Would be great if it can last as long as my old faithful HP.

Not that impressive as I expected. It runs really really slow without power cord plugged in. This is the biggest issue I've had with this machine. This laptop can't even run Chrome smoothly when it's running on battery. The battery life is almost like if there is no battery (a little more than 1 hr). The whole point of the small form factor is that you can take it out easily. If the battery doesn't last long enough, what's the point of taking it out? I just can't get by with that battery. The resolution is too low on this device. I can easily see the individual pixels on the screen. The color accuracy isn't that good either. I had to calibrate the screen before I can really trust it. Not a great viewing experience. If you are going to use the speakers, don't buy this machine. The speakers on this device are terrible. They don't sound good. They are not even loud enough.

With Keyboard lighting system leading the laptop industry. you will have no problem with Video editing 4K, gaming or any high power project. Why only four star? The battery life is horrible, gaming or video editing, fingerprint magnet, Heating issues even with two fans the Razer Blade 15 RTX 2060 I7 975 becomes hot to the touch after an hour and may cut off on you. I named my Razor blade the hour of power!

Had a really hard time deciding between this and a MBP in the same price range. The Razer Blade won out for its overall design, RTX graphics, variety of ports available, and the fact that you can actually open it up and replace parts/make upgrades as needed. I also purchased some overpriced electronic tape from some robots in Canada to cover up the hideous logo on the lid. Black dragon did the trick nicely. As i have read on some forums, it is strongly recommended that you purchase a GeekSquad warranty with Razer laptops due to some internal build quality control and poor support experiences with Razer's customer care team, which i decided to do a couple weeks after purchasing this laptop, and here's why: My unit does not have any coil whine that i can notice (i have owned other devices with coil whine, so i know what it sounds like) but my screen does have a very small pressure mark on it that came that way out of the box. A pressure mark is damage on the screen that will always be lighter in color than everything else on the screen. It is not noticeable on a black screen, but becomes more noticeable on lighter colors, especially white. I decided to keep this unit as there is no light bleed around the edges of the screen and no coil whine, just a small pressure mark slightly smaller than the size of a pencil eraser in the bottom left quadrant. I will try contacting razer to see what my options are for repair and may just live with it if they are unwilling to replace it. Otherwise, I'll look into my options through the GeekSquad warranty later on, especially if any other issues arise with the laptop.

I have had the 3 previous generations of Razer Blade Laptops. The previous ones have all been passed down to my kids and wife. The laptop works great! I even had the earlier ones from 2015 with the 870M graphics card. This current one with the RTX2060 is amazing! The track pad, the size of the 15 is about the same size as the 14 and you really can't even feel the weight difference. Great gaming laptop for all the games I throw at it!

I had to reinstall windows out of the box because of an faulty install on delivery, but performance has been flawless since. Fans are a little loud, but you get used to it especially if you wear headphones. Otherwise what you would expect. No touch screen is kind of a bummer but the track pad is excellent, and the screen is super sharp. I wish the charge-port was magnetic as I have already had the computer yanked off a table, but a minor dent is the only indication that it took a 3 foot fall. I love the port selection on the computer and the on-board Ethernet port actually drove me to this unit in particular as the higher end Razers in this range nix this port.

    Decent Laptop JOKE support

Laptop itself is decent enough to run most games at medium settings (while plugged in) but the support is an absolute JOKE. MY power adapter stopped working suddenly after 2 years of use (no reason its in fine shape literally stayed in 1 place those 2 years) so I reach out to support thinking, alright well at least its not been 3 years so Im probably still in warranty and its just the adapter shouldn't be a big deal... NOPE. Support essentially told me to take a hike and that I could buy a new one (if they had it) online because the warranty is only 1 year. I said that's not great (but I'm thinking this new adapter will be like 30 bucks) so I take a look while on the phone... not only cannot I not find the adapter on the site... all the adapters are $100+. So needless to say I let Razer know this was beyond satisfactory and the fact that they had the audacity to send me to go spend $100+ retail (so they could get some more profit on their crummy adapter) was insane. I'm awaiting rectifacation but couldn't be more disappointed... imagine making a product that you know darn well what the failure rate and time frame is and then making your customers go buy a new one at an absurd retail price.... sickening

Adding in an additional hard drive was extremely easy to do. Needed extra mounting screws since my SSD did not come with any, but it was still an easy process. Razer support is phenomenal and helpful. Using it for virtualization, Mathematica, SolidWorks and I have experienced very few and minor issues. Battery life could be better but with power savings on, the system lasts for a solid 4 hours with normal usage of heavy apps.

I’ve had this thing for quite a while now, and I can say it’s easily one of the highest quality laptops out there. No bloatware, great performance, and a slim design that makes it actually portable. The screen is amazing and at 144hz it makes games run smooth. The CPU and GPU are decent spec, but this is also the base model and it was really all I wanted from a portable machine. The SSD space is low, but I got around it by getting an external USB Drive. The build quality is one of my favorite parts, it doesn’t feel cheap at all. Thermals are about as usual for a laptop and it can get a little noisy, but overall ive loved using this thing for as long as I have, for school or for travel. The price at the time of purchase was a little steep but I imagine now you can get a good value out of it.

This laptop so far has been amazing for gaming and runs extremely smooth for a windows machine. It runs hot and has a funky keyboard setup but this has not been an issue since I run the laptop on a dock with a MSI monitor and keyboard/mouse configuration. I've also been able to do CAD design quite reliably on it but in my opinion this is mostly a gaming machine and would not install too much on it at the same time. My strategy with windows machines has been to specialize them and not push them too far by installing/running too much apps at the same time. This way I know they will always function and last much longer.

    Quality Control Issues

I had always heard that Razer had quality control issues. But I always figured it was because of the sheer number of laptops they sell compared to other gaming specific laptop makers. That the % was probably the same. Boy was I wrong. I went through 3 of these. First One: 3 zones bottom middle of the screen had huge backlight bleed. Not the whole take a camera picture and bawk when the camera adapts and brightens things you dont even see. These were spotlights pointing up. Second one: Trackpad literally lags when you plug the computer in. Like moving your finger through sludge Third one: When the auto brightness kicked in the screen flickered. Also had same trackpad issue (maybe problem with new power adapter??) So I GIVE UP! Other than issues the laptop is great. But for $2000 I wasn't going to go through another bad one. Went and got MSI GS65, no issues!

So I’ve had this laptop for a couple months now and what can I say besides: I love it. I had a pc (and am currently building one) but my first world problem is that I HATE being restricted to one spot. A gaming laptop is absolutely perfect for playing on the go, or simply changing where you sit at home. The laptop itself is great! It’s a beast of a machine that can play today’s games at max settings without dropping in fps. Mine doesn’t get hot, but I use a cooling pad underneath, but you should do that anyways. Laptops get hot, there’s no getting around that. All I’m all I’m in absolute love with this machine.
