IM ROOTING FOR RAZER!

I am writing this on the Razer Book 13 and I can confirm that the keyboard makes this laptop hard to love. I am very happy about all other aspects, and I am happy to pay the premium for the sex-appeal. Razer and I tried to get together on a gaming laptop once before and unfortunately it didn't work out due to some whatever. However I do like the brand and figured they couldn't possibly mess up a laptop catering to productivity so shortly after my Dell laptop caught fire I decided to buy the Razer Book 13". Presently I am on the fence about keeping it, the keyboard issue really breaks my heart.

Best PC for Productivity

So far so good! This laptop has such a solid build quality to it. It definitely rivals that of Apple laptops. The 16:10 is amazing for work productivity. I believe this laptop uses the same panel as the XPS laptops which is beautiful. I’m more of a PC person, but hate the battery life compared to Macs. Intel Evo definitely stepped up with efficiency. I can get a whole days worth on a single charge.

5 stars for performance only. Despite this being a $1600 expectation for perfection, it still outperforms the XPS lineup with similar configuration.
I can't speak too well for the keyboard as other reviews have pointed out, but I generally don't use this book undocked unless for entertainment or temporarily portable use anyway. Not to mention, the Omni-RGB lighting on the keys tend to distract from the overall feel if you're listening to music with the visualizer on.
I don't speak for the majority audience of users, but this thing's been pretty much perfect for me.

The overall build quality of the shell is outstanding. The screen is fairly uniform with o my slight bleed along the center top bezel.
The keyboard is atrocious. Some keys do not register clicks. It’s a hardware issue. The worst is the L key. It’s mushy and unless pressed hard directly in the middle will just wobble and not register a press. Some others have similar issue to a lesser extent. Sadly this alone makes using the laptop extremely frustrating. At this price point I find a malfunctioning half baked keyboard completely unacceptable.

I have to agree that the keyboard is not acceptable. I took some online typing tests and my accuracy dropped from the mid 90s down to the low 80s, solely because it isn't registering keystrokes. It's frustrating, and the whole experience feels terrible. If I intentionally push at the top of the keys, it probably recognizes about 20% of the keystrokes. I really wanted to like this thing, but I'm not going to pay a premium for a laptop that won't let me type correctly--I don't care what it's benchmarks are.

Solid laptop, faster and sleeker than I expected it to be! I absolutely love it. I wish there was more accessories for it though. Only downside would be how difficult it is to open it sometimes. the slit is small.

Terrible audio, persistent crashing issues

First of all, I had read some negative reviews of the Book 13 where people complained about sudden crashing and/or bluescreening which I foolishly ignored, but the exact same things happened to me within days of purchasing this laptop. The only two pieces of software installed on this machine were Google Chrome and Visual Studio 2019, so I was surprised when the laptop started bluescreening after only an hour or two of use.
Aside from whatever issue is causing the crashing (which I don't care to investigate further - for $1,600 USD, the machine better *work*), the audio coming out of this laptop is as bad as the reviews say. The sound is absolutely horrible; the bass is completely absent, and the resulting audio is very "tinny". If a graphic equalizer were available on this machine (which there isn't), I would imagine it would simply be a line going up. It actually sounds better if I put my fingers over the speakers! The THX spatial audio feature is somewhat nice at low volumes, but overall the sound quality is flat out embarrassing for a laptop at this price range. Even if I wasn't having these crashing issues, I would be tempted to return the laptop just on the poor sound quality alone.
Otherwise, I'm actually very sad to be returning this laptop because the build quality is really good. I found the keyboard nicely tactile and easy to type on. I also thought the RGB lighting was a nice touch. The screen looks great, especially with the thin bezels (as I'm upgrading from a Surface Laptop 1, I'd like to avoid giant bezels altogether). The Razer Book 13 just "feels" like a quality laptop, so it's quite a shame it's completely unusable.

This laptop works fine. It was an open box purchase but it looked like it was brand new. No problems with the keyboard like I read online. I upgraded the m.2 ssd to a 1 tb drive. It’s been working really good so far.

Fantastic. The screen is gorgeous. The speakers are decent. The keyboard is a little shallow but on the good side there is no give from the deck, it is solid.
The size and design are both great. The only slight gripe is that it is 3lbs so a little heavier than others in the same category.

This is a finely made machine. It feels incredibly solid, while not being heavy. Very snappy to resume from standby (thanks evo!), loved the Windows Hello support, and excellent performance in lightroom, especially with that brilliant screen. The problem for me, a coder, is that the keyboard was finicky. It frequently missed keystrokes unless the key was hit dead on, in a manner I don't experience with other laptops. And for that reason, I had to return it.

Impressive performance, but poor keyboard

I decided to go with a Razer Book because of Razer's reputation for build quality. I'm impressed with this laptop, it feels premium and it looks great. Another reason I chose the Razer Book is because I want to use it with an eGPU. It runs flawlessly with an RTX 3060 inside a Razer Core, thanks to the speed of the processor.
However, I have had some issues with the keyboard. When typing without a lot of force and on the top of the keys, the keystroke won't register. However, this hasn't been a huge problem for me because I normally use a mechanical keyboard where I usually type with a lot of force.
Pros:
Superior build quality
Fun & bright RGB lighting (however it doesn't cover the edge of keys on the end)
Excellent processor & graphics speed. Intel Iris Xe can run pretty much every game in my library and CPU isn't much of a bottleneck with eGPU.
Cons:
Some keystrokes don't register
Gets very hot on the top of the keyboard.
256gb storage wasn't enough for me, but it's easy to upgrade.

The screen is great and it was fast enough for what I needed but I returned for the terrible keyboard. Blue screening and mistyping was too much to keep the machine. It also advertises 14 hour battery life, more like 3 if you’re really using it.

Worst laptop I've ever owned

This is easily the worst laptop I've ever owned. The keyboard and speaker sucks, it overheats easily, and lags at times. I've ad it for less than a year. My charger also broke, but it a very weird way; the actual USB portion of it just fell off, it didn't even break it just slipped off. I tried to get a replacement (from Razer because that's where I purchased it) but it turned into a whole thing where I had to return my laptop too, and I am a college student, so I can't go long without it. I'm thinking about buying another one while I send this one to see if anything can be done, but I do NOT recommend this to anyone. EVERYTHING about this laptop (no one talks about the camera but it is atrocious) is terrible quality (especially the hardware), so if you were thinking about getting this laptop and ignoring all the low ratings, take this rating as your sign to not get this laptop. Do not ignore the low ratings and take the risk, especially at the price that it is.
I expected a company that caters to gaming laptops to have the best quality, even for an efficient laptop, and they let me down horribly.
