https://youtu.be/gGOTXRKuCHg This is a Headset that will make you forget about your old ones, 1- The customisable side stripes are really strong and durable. 2- The usb cable is wrapped with cloth like material and that makes it more flexible and durable. 3- The ear cups have enough wiggle room to adabt to the shape of any head. 4- The air cushin were small at first sight but don't worry they will cover your ear with an inside diameter of 5 cm. 5- The top band and ear cups have cloth like material making them more durable on the long run. 6- The mic is hidden in the left ear cup, it is retractable and very flexible. you can check the video : https://youtu.be/gGOTXRKuCHg for more I did an unboxing, I showed how you can configure your headset using Synapse 2.0 and how to mute and unmute your mic. I compared the voice on the mic of a normal headset and this one so you can go ahead and check the difference ! https://youtu.be/gGOTXRKuCHg

This headset is very comfortable, has great 7.1 Surround Sound that works very well with the Razer Utility Engine. The microphone is very high quality and is quite convenient as it is retractable. There is also a mute button on the microphone and the USB cord for the headset is braided. The only negative thing about having the braided cord is when the cord brushes up on clothing, the left ear is muffled out by that sound.

this headset is very comfortable, and has a built in retractable mic! it fits my head perfectly and has little lines where you extend it so all you have to do is remember how many lines you see when it fits to have it on your size any time you wear it. the chroma lights gives an awesome effect with a back lit keyboard and chroma mouse. only drawback is the cord.

I purchased my first set of Krakens a little over a year ago. Here is what I think: Pros: Good sound quality - I wouldn't recommend them for music, but it works wonders for games. Microphone - One of the higher quality mics on a headset of this price. Not too "tinny" and I come in very clear to my teammates. Chroma - If your keyboard and mouse are also part of the chroma line, you can color match your system and make it look more "professional". Cons: Braided cable - Although long, this cable has a natural tendency to twist itself up, resulting in having to disconnect and unbind the cable. Mic light - When the mic is on, it displays a solid color which can be distracting to professional gamers (this has been reversed in the newer versions). Head squeeze - This headset applies a lot of force over the ears (to keep sound out). While this works well with outside noise dampening, it does become painful after about an hour or two of continuous use. Synapse driver - This has always been a clunky piece of software that controls the razer devices. It updates almost on a daily basis, with no benefit to the user. It can also chew through some resources. For what it's worth, the pros outweigh the cons. One con, the mic light mentioned above, has been addressed. Instead of lighting when on, it now lights when muted. It is also retractable, so that distracting light can be removed from your field-of--view. This is my second set. The first set died a little after the first year (short caused right driver to randomly work). Having Geek Squad Protection on the device, I could have chosen another brand, but decided to stick with this one for the pros mentioned above. TLDR - This is the best headset in this price range. Extended use can be uncomfortable. There is a possibility of them failing. Get this product, and get Geek Squad Protection with it.

Best Headphones for gaming and watching movies

The sound quality is amazing. Especially for gaming and watching movies. The ear cusps are really comfortable even for extended wear of 4 to 6 hours consecutively and they don't irritate or pain at all. I love the chroma lightening especially when set to work with the rhythm of the music. For movies I love its base. It feels amazing when you hear the sound of explosions and gunfire in movies. Similarly in games with 7.1 surround sound i can basically tell which floor or direction did the gunfire came from. I'm a hardcore gamer so I absolutely love this headset. The quality of sound from the mic is also really clear, crisp and great. The overall look of the headphones is also great. This is the best headphones. l highly recommend if you're a gaming fan and if you watch movies on your computer.

I bought this headset for use while gaming on my PC, and it has worked out quite well. I find the sound quality to be superb and love that the mic can be hidden while not in use. I've also used the headset on my PS4 when my PX4's were out of commission. All in all, I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive headset solution.

Purchased as a gift for my son, these exceeded the "Wow" factor that we were looking for. They are comfortable, sound great and have cool color changing lights built into the headphones (only visible to others, not the wearer). Couldn't be happier with the product or the price at Best Buy.

Loud, bass heavy, and good gaming headset

Keep in mind, I used a $40 Best Buy Rewards Certificate in conjunction with my purchase for the Kraken. At $99.99, I believe these headphones are a bit overpriced. It does the job. It's a little on the bass heavy side in which you might want to tweak the EQ settings via the Razer Synapse software. My only gripe with this headset is that there is no way other than through your computer's volume control (thank goodness, my Corsair K70 keyboard has a manual volume wheel) to control how loud or soft you want the sound to be. The 7.1 surround sound is decent. The mic is flexible but it stubbornly likes to keep bending upwards. So if you want to bend it lower to aim towards your voice area, it won't happen unless you shift the whole head phone on top of your head forward. Overall, I can't complain. It's a lot more decent in sound quality than most of the Logitech headsets I've used. The RGB lighting is purely aesthetic and I believe there is a non-Chroma version out there for $20 less at Best Buy. Overall, it's a decent headset.

At first, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the Kraken when I first bought it. I had purchased the headset along side the Firefly Mouse Pad. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. You have to calibrate it before using it in order with the Razer Synapse program in order to get the 7.1 surround sound. This is okay in my books because it helps you fine tune the headset if needed. It goes really well with the rest of my Razer Chroma gear. The only downfall is that there is no in-line or on headset volume for chat or game volume. It isn't that big of a deal but it would have been nice to have. I give it an 8/10.

The Razer Kraken 7.1 is hands-down the best headset I've ever used. It has crisp surround sound; it's perfect for when I'm playing Counterstrike: Global Offensive. The mic quality is flawless, & my team never has issues hearing me. The chroma feature is always a great addition to this headset as well! The cord is long enough for some mobility, & it's very durable. I highly recommend this headset for any serious gamer.

The sound quality is great. The bass might be a bit too much. They are sound deadening; even when minimal audio is playing in my ears it is hard to hear what is actually going on around me. The mic is clear. The headset is very comfortable. Even after hours of use while wearing glasses, the headset doesn't push your frames into the side of your head.

Contrary to what some users have written about this and other Razer products, I have been a customer of theirs for many years and I have never had anything break or simply stop working. Their products are great and yes you do pay more for them over the competition but I have been through much of the competition. I tried out several headsets before deciding on these. I tried Turtle Beach, Logitech, Corsair and others. I game for hours at a time and these are comfortable to wear and they sound good. I would recommend these to anyone.

I just want to start off in saying I have reviewed many headsets in the past. As an avid gamer, the most important parts are your headset, mouse, keyboard in that order. Now: I came from a Siberia Elite Prism headset which I must say was the biggest steaming pile of poo. From the get-go I had issues in drivers, the surround sound was a gimmick, the microphone when not muted would give a crackle in the headset, and the earmuffs were falling off the headset. ON A 300 dollar headset. Unacceptable. On topic of the razor headset for 79 dollars(at time of purchase) you get a great deal. After steering away from razer a couple years ago I was reluctant to merge back into the lane. Razer's quality has gone down in my opinion, and so I wasn't expecting much out of this headset, but was PLEASANTLY surprised. The drivers are great, both software and hardware, with great EQ presets, and stellar surround sound. The overall material is of good quality, aside from the headband which is questionable. (Reason for 4 stars) upon plugging the headset in, I immediately did a microphone test, and asked my gaming friends if they could tell a difference, and boy could they. The microphone has a great range, and accurately represents the captured voice. NICE! The chroma lighting is a huge bonus. Aside from the ONE subjective flaw with the headband because opinions vary, I cannot express how much I'm in love with this headset. It sounds amazing, it is very comfortable, the mic is fantastic, and people prefer listening to me on it over my blue snowball. Don't get tricked by the overpriced headsets out there like I did! This is the headset you want!

Pro: -Sounds amazing, rich sounds, bass boost is very deep. -Nice lighting combos and customization -Lots of custom sound settings for surround sound -Mic picks up very well, and is retractable instead of removable so no bad connections with plugs and no losing the mic( I have kids so I know this well) Cons -They are fairly heavy at the ear piece because for the higher quality sound, if you have a weak neck they are not for longer sessions of wear. -They have a very good grip when wearing them to help seal around your ears but at the same time it will give you a headache if you wear them for longer amounts to time unless you have a smaller head. -They have a short USB cord for some desk set ups. If you have a normal desk or a laptop, you shouldn't have a problem if you have a larger screen like I do and your computer is not somewhat close you will find yourself running out of cord quicker than many other good headsets. - USB plug/connection seems touchy, if you bump or move your plug while using these it disconnects and causing some issues sometimes with reconnecting including crashing your sound ( had this happen on 3 different computers) Used them in both normal and 3.0 USB with no change. - have tried a few different USB extender cords, they will not work with any of them that I have found. Other than a few quirks that can be lived with they are a very nice headset, amazing sound! While I may end up returning these, its not because I don't like them its just because they are to short and I can't get an extension to work, not its fault.
