Red Dead Redemption 2 is honestly one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. From the moment I started playing, I was completely immersed in the world Rockstar has created. The attention to detail is astonishing—whether it's the way the character’s hair blows in the wind or how the wildlife interacts with the environment, everything feels alive. The story is what really pulls you in. You play as Arthur Morgan, a member of a gang struggling to survive in a rapidly changing world. The characters are incredibly well-written, each bringing their own unique personality and backstory. I found myself genuinely caring about what happened to them, and some of the moments hit me unexpectedly hard. The gameplay is a mix of action and exploration that kept me on my toes. I loved the side quests, too; they felt meaningful and often led to memorable encounters. Whether I was hunting, fishing, or just taking in the breathtaking landscapes, I never felt bored. Each day brought a new adventure, and the dynamic weather made every scene feel different. One thing I have to mention is the soundtrack. The music beautifully complements the experience, adding an emotional layer to the journey. I found myself humming the tunes long after I put down the controller. Overall, Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't just a game; it's a journey that left a lasting impression. If you enjoy rich storytelling and an open-world to explore, this is a must-play. Just be prepared to lose track of time—once you dive in, it's hard to pull yourself out!

I was a big fan of RDR, played hundreds of hours with it and loved to just wander around, hunt, pick flowers and just explore, taking my time to advance Through the main quest and enjoying the great story telling. I loved the Sergio Leone atmosphere and southern great west ambience. RDR2 is so similar but so different in many ways. In this prequel, you are Arthur Morgan, a key member of the Van der Linde gang, the gang John Marston turned away from. This is set several years before RDR and still has the same great story telling though the ambience is very different from the first hame and closer to that of a True Grit (Jeff Bridges' version) with the addition of the group dynamic with its animosities. The characters usually have interesting back stories and you see them evolving as the story moves along. You can still hunt and pick flowers, though flower picking is a lot more difficult than in the first RDR. The game dynamics are almost identical to the first one. The world is huge and diverse, from the mountains of Colorado, to the swamps of Louisiana, through Virgina and a carribean island, there is a lot to explore and feast your eyes on. I must say though that I miss new Austin and Mexico from the first game. The ambience of the prequel is just slightly less engaging and immersive for me; the loner cowboy in the old west type story suits me a little better. I am easily over 70 hours in and just barely scratched the surface of the game and can easily play an additional 100 to 200 hours before feeling like I need to move on. This is rare for me now that I am older and have a ton of other things to do besides playing Video Games.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is simply a game where you can get lost, where the journey is the adventure. As a birder, being pulled into birding in a game is something I never imagined. The settings, the ecosystem, the banter of the gang all add to this excitement.

I'm not much of a gamer, I generally only play sports games. But during the lockdown I wanted to have some fun at home, and I love western films, so I bought Red Dead Redemption 2, despite not playing the first one. It's really good. The controls are difficult at first but become easy. The open western world is insanely unpredictable and realistic. Sure, some parts of the story are a little contrived, and even a few aspects were kind of "woke" in my opinion, but it felt like I was part of a western film. The whole story and action reminded me a little bit of the movie "The Wild Bunch." That's how good this game is. I even found myself getting attached to the main character, Arthur. I won't spoil anything, but let's just say his story pulled on the heartstrings a little. I'm about 65% through right now and I'm already sad that the game will be over soon. It's a great game and in my biased and unqualified opinion, the best one ever.

Great game but if you order from Best Buy and have the game shipped to you, it will most likely show up with the disc loose inside. I'm not happy about it. That's after it happening with the last SEVERAL games I've ordered from them. To the point that I'm no longer ordering from Best Buy online.

2018 Game of the Year is an understatement. Even after 5 years and new console releases, RDR2 is the greatest game ever!!! As a western fan, I love the Red Dead Redemption games, but you don’t have to like westerns to love this game. Story telling, drama, interaction, incredible details, breath taking scenery, secrets and mysteries galore… And, of course, horses… GTA of the West. Game of the century. Praying for a remaster to PS5 of both RDR & RDR2. As well as a RDR3.

This game is a Masterpiece, the attention to detail is unlike any other game I ever played and I have over 8000 games over the 20+ consoles I own. Great emotionally driven story, and some of the best voice acting.

This game is a cinematic marvel. The production values are evident throughout each moment as you're taken back in time to run with outlaws clashing with the encroachment of civilization. The gameplay isn't changed drastically from previous Rockstar games. If you aren't a fan of the shooting or the control of GTA V, you probably will dislike this. A multitude of other systems are introduced to simulate survival and maintaining a camp full of fellow outlaws. Most of these systems are inobtrusive or can be ignored. Overall, I recommend this to people who like Rockstar's previous efforts.

When Rock star releases a video game it is a major event in the game industry. This is the same as Star wars being released in the movies. Red Dead II is basically an open world sandbox game set in the Wild west at its end. The game is open world and what a world the developers have createed. I actually felt what it was like being in the wild west on the frontier. Without spoiling anything this game will keep you busy for months to come. Why are you reading this review go buy this game. This game is Enhanced for ps4 pro if you have a ps4 pro system.

My son and I each played Red Dead Redemption 2 separately, and we both absolutely loved it. The world is incredibly detailed, the story is powerful, and the gameplay is top-notch. Even though we played on our own, we had a great time talking about our experiences, the choices we made, and all the little things we discovered. It’s so good that we’ve both gone back to play it again. This is one of those games that really sticks with you and keeps pulling you back in. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a great open-world adventure.

As recent releases such as COD WW2 and Assassins creed odyssey have been released with steller gameplay I felt as though something was missing. These two titles as I just mentioned have fallen into a drastic and unfortunate assumption: that everyone these days has robust wifi and highspeed internet. I was so sad when I heard titles such as the ones listed above would require internet to play the campaign mode! It felt like offline couch play and dynamic single player games were being left behind. If left me yelling "Are you serious!" This unfortunate trend is not this game! I live in the country with no highspeed internet at all (sad I know) but literally no providers even though I have great desire to purchase better internet. This game has a nearly 70 hour single player campaign, no internet required, no day one patches to make it run, no pay to win systems, none of that. People began saying and believing that "always needing internet active to play games, even campaign modes is just the future and the way things are." This game took 8 years to dvelop, nearly 3,000 people and creators to make it and it is the best game ever! It has truly sunk a sword right into the mindset of gamers and other developers who were falling into the trap that "games just require day one patches to fix glitches now it's just the way things are" although yes, this game also has a very large patch I played it to the very end on a ps4 that has never in it's life been connected to internet and it worked just fine with no game breaking glitches. This game proves single player campaigns are back with a bang! And really challenges other developers that assume patches and internet is the "norm" now days for games even for single player mode access...wrong! Hunting, fishing, free world exploration, the music, the detail, the alternate endings based on game choices..it has it all! A winner for sure!

So this is an unusual circumstance where I am not even close to finishing the game, but already love it. In fact, I purposefully neglect main mission tracks to explore the world. From what I have read, the story does go places, and gets better so I have a lot to look forward to on that front because I liked what I have seen so far. That said, my preferred way to play is just to go out and see what unfolds. I might go hunting. I may help out a damsel in distress. I might start a drunken fight in a bar. Whatever happens to feel right in the moment. It's been a greatly immersive, and wonderful time, and I am in no rush to "finish" the game. Controls are more deliberate that what most people are accustomed to. One has to get over the snappy controls of a typical FPS. This is not that. There are settings you can tweak to approach this. Just understand the game has it's own deliberate pace. I frankly enjoy that aspect. It means you have to pay attention, and play mindfully instead of spamming buttons. At the same time it is not something you have to think about. It is pretty easy to grasp, and becomes second nature. Much like touch-typing, your fingers will know what to do if you play mindfully. I read/hear a lot about players shooting someone when they meant to do something else. I've done it as well. But then they blame the controls for not making sense... which is odd because they do not change (nor do the prompts). My advice is to slow down, and make sure you are doing what you mean to do. Anyway, if you loved the first Red Dead, and/or enjoy a open-world in a western setting, I highly recommend this game. Take your time. This is not a game you gulp down in order to rush credits. Savor every sip. Find a pace that works for you.
