    Great filter, water taste and smells good. A little pricey, but I would not trust or buy a non-OE filter on the market. Last depending on usage, 6-9 months on average.

    I havent tried a generic filter yet but I may do so in the future as a trial to see if the product works as well as this one does but for a lesser price. If it does I will switch but I know the quality of this one is good.

    I know there are a lot of generic filters out there but I’ve heard too many horror stories to risk it. These GE filters provide great tasting water and I’ve never had one leak. In my opinion (and experience) you can push them well past the recommended 6 months and if you then compare the cost per month difference with the off brand, is it really worth the risk?

    This is an easy to install and use item to filer the water in your refrigerators water system. The taste is remarkable and I don't enjoy drinking plain tap water any longer. It also lasts a long time. Since I am the only user I only change it once a year and it is fine. A family would definitely need to change it in six months which is still a long time of wonderful usage.
