RE7 is the best resident evil since the 4th one and it's played in a first person view, it is scary, intense and the game looks amazing. I recommend this game to everyone an it is one of the best Resident Evil games

My friend told me about this game and finally got the budget to pick it up. A more reason to grab a PS4 VR now. I guess more money to spend.

Not only is it refreshing in terms of graphics, story and characters, but the series takes its first gameplay change since RE4. Similar to Outlast, the first person mode really makes for a challenging and frightening experience, especially when playing in VR. By itself, the main story plays out quite satisfactory but ultimately the Gold Edition answers most, if not all questions concerning the motives, conclusions and whereabouts of any characters and plot threads introduced in the base game. Of course, the DLC also adds a variety of gameplay changes and elements to take on that'll create a new challenge for even those who've mastered the vanilla campaign.

A return to form in a different perspective

Imagine if Resident Evil 1 starred a nobody and took place in first person. That's the simplest way of describing RE7. And that's a good thing! RE7's main plot is far removed from the usual Umbrella shenanigans and deals with issues much closer to home. In fact you are on a plantation in Louisiana cut off from the world trying to rescue your wife from a crazy family. It's more than that of course but that would be spoiling a lot of surprises. The game really plays like RE1 with bizarre puzzles, ammo sponge bosses, creepy enemies, item conservation and limits on what you can carry but there's modern touches too, like no limits on how often you can save (but saving is limited by location and special auto save checkpoints) and having a bit more mobility. In 2D this game is scary and graphic. Probably the most extreme visually speaking. Decay in all forms throughout the game. In VR the game really shines. And it's the entire experience too. You can aim and shoot with your head and lean around corners without exposing yourself. And everything literally is in your face now. If you are squeamish VR might push you. Game takes about 10 hours to beat. Usual first time length for an RE. But since this is the gold edition there is all the DLC to explore. Not A Hero I hear is the best but I haven't gotten a chance to play them all yet. In time... Really I have no complaints about this package or game. RE7 was a much needed shot of creativity to the series while returning back to what we loved about RE games in the first place: survival horror.

It's been a long while since we had a good resident evil game, but this one took place in a house isolated from the city, more like out in the country with trees and dirty roadway. Love the story and gameplay, it is a bit different from the original re game, but it is a scary experience.

    Return of Resi

The last few entries into the Resident Evil franchise have anything from mediocre to downright dismal. Thankfully, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard has broken free of this trend. Let start with VR. This is one of the best games for virtual reality to date and this mode is included at no cost. This isn't a lazy port to VR either. RE7 feels like it was designed around this concept instead of shoehorning it in at the end. There are more than a few truly terrifying moments in this game - even better, Resi 7 doesn't rely on jump scares for its horror. The claustrophobic and eerie atmosphere make every moment tense. One thing I'd like to mention is that this game made me feel physically sick, (dizzy and nauseous) especially while watching someone else play, VR mode fixed this entirely for me. There are other people who have also experienced this so keep that in mind when purchasing.

I use the full review scale so that is a very good score. There are a ton of experiences that I wouldn't waste my time on this generation, but RE7 is not one of them. And with the Gold Edition it's even better. The design of the game is great. You will frequently come across locked doors or things impeding your progress that you need something for. As you go along the other route, you find what you need and eureka moment, you now know what you need to bypass the barrier in true Metroidvania fashion. This extends into the DLC as well (at least with End of Zoe and Not a Hero). The game has excellent pacing and a cool, well thought out story. The pieces of the plot start to fall into place, shedding light on earlier details. Resource management is fun because you can save all your good stuff for the ending. Shame about the generic enemies, though. They also could've made the puzzles (if you can call them that) a little harder. Overall, it's nowhere near Resident Evil 4's level of quality, but like I said, it's a great game nonetheless made even better by the DLC. The DLC has the same great design as the main game, though with new mechanics. I highly recommend you play Not a Hero and End of Zoe. Even though their stories aren't all that, and they don't really add much to the main game as far as revelations are concerned (the files you can find are still entertaining, though), the gameplay in these DLCs is still great. All the DLC is on disc, except for Not a Hero which you need to download from the PS Store.

This game gets you back to RE1 days. The atmosphere and limited ammo makes this a great survival horror. VR mode is down right scary makes you jump in your seat. Excellent game for RE fans!

    Resident Evil Reimagined

Longtime fans of RE are likely familiar with the franchise's slow but steady journey from survival horror, to action game. Fans disappointed by RE5 and RE6's emphasis on action and combat at the detriment of horror aspect will feel right at home with RE7. Returning the franchise to its survival horror roots, this time in first person, RE7 places the focus on horror, with action and combat sequences being sporadically placed to increase tension rather than to be the focus of the experience.

If you have liked previous Resident Evil games you will love this one. One of the best in the franchise. The FP POV works so well and is a great thriller. Even better on PSVR.

After waiting forever for this game to go on a sale I finally picked it up and wish I had purchased it right away at full price. This is a terrifying experience in VR and one of the strongest examples of why VR will continue to grow as a platform. Both flat and VR modes feature superb graphics, especially on the PS4 Pro. The story itself is somewhat predictable but enjoyable overall. If you have PSVR you must own this game.

It's hard to imagine Resident Evil was anything different than what this complete reboot was. This is a First person perspective game taking a clear detour from every RE game before it but it works in amazing ways making for a truly creepy and scary experience unlike any other in the franchise. Taking notes from the P.T. demo that came out many years prior, this new iteration of RE is a great experience to be had by any fan of horror games.

Resident Evil was running on fumes for a while, as they strayed too far from the roots of the franchise, but RE7 reinvents the franchise by taking it back to its horror roots while doing it all in first-person for the first time.

I bought this game when I bought my PS VR. It was so amazing in VR you feel like you are in the RE universe. Capcom made the game so good that you don’t need to have VR to enjoy it. This is a must play game with or without VR. Resident Evil is a franchise that redefined the horror game genre and 25 years later they did it again.

Game was great when playing it on my 65'' OLED but it turned out to be awesome with the PSVR. This game is not for the faint of heart in VR I am really glad that the developers went back to their roots for this game because it was like the resident evil 1 and 2 games. I absolutely loved the gameplay, story and the jump scares . $20 for the complete gold edition is a no brainer.

Took a while to get used to the controls. However graphics are good, very realistic, story line is great and different enough in the realm of Resident Evil to keep you engaged and wanting to play more. Almost reminds me a little of Texas ChainSaw Massacre movies. If you like Horror this is definitely a must buy. Would have given it 5 stars if it was a 3rd person player view as opposed to 1st person, but that's just my personal preference. Over all this game is another great addition to the Resident Evil franchise and lives up to the hype.

Although this game shakes up the methods of the previous Resident Evil entries, it's a must play for horror and suspense lovers. Even better in VR!
