It's somewhat on the old side of a action game. Does not keep you going but ok to play it there is nothing else to play.

This is an outstanding first-person shooter! The graphics are simply astounding and do a good job of showing what the PS3 is capable of. There were a few scenes where I actually took a minute or two just to look at the amazing detail in the environments because the graphics were so outstanding. The controls work very well and there is a nice array of some very cool weapons. This game follows the war between Man and a race of monsters called the Chimera, and you get the chance to use both Human and Chimeran weapons as the game progesses. In addition to straight shooting weapons that most shooters have, Resistance 2 also features weapons that can shoot around corners or target and shoot enemies behind walls. The enemies in this game are some of the scariest this side of Resident Evil. These enemies range from small crawly creatures to skyscraper-sized monstrosities. Many are fast and agile while others are large and powerful. One thing Resistance has that most FPS franchises lack is a well-developed story. The story of the Man-Chimera war is very well thought out and is very dramatic as it unfolds. This game picks up where Resistance: Fall of Man ends and leaves the story open for further sequels (the war's not over yet). My only complaint is that the game is a little short. Still, I would say this game is an essential part of any gamer's library. Resitance 2 is yet another good reason to buy a PS3. Now I'm hoping for Resistance 3!

    A More Than Worthy Sequel

Not many sequels live up to the original. Resistance2 defies this. Graphics aside, Resistance2 is an amazing game that will keep you entertained for hours on end. The storyline picks up almost right where the first game left off, and throws you back into the action almost immediately. The sheer scale of this game is nearly overwhelming as vast landscapes threaten to swallow you whole! Massive Chimeran airships pepper the skyline as far as the eye can see, all while wave after wave of enemies attact from all directions- it truely is a sigh to behold! Controls in this game are a spot-on lift from the original and feel just as right as they did before, though the lack of anything really new or special is a bit of a letdown. The online multiplayer modes and ability to link up to your PSP copy of Resistance:Retribution add a bit of variety to an otherwise straightforward experience, and give you reason to keep coming back for more! Resistance2 is definately not a game to be missed- anyone who's played the first Resistance should be ashamed not to have this sitting on their shelf next to it!

This is way better than part one and I thought part one was fantastic. The graphics are so well done and the city looks more war torn and detailed than Gears of War and I love that game so its not an easy thing to say. They changed the health system to that of the usual shooter where you regain complete health over time wich in this case it goes perfect with the story line unlike the other shooters. The weapons are incredible the AI is well done OH! just go buy the game trust me you won't regret it. OH! and the controls for the game are on point.

There are new weapons which fit in the the universe and make combat very interesting and entertaining. These are also sprinkled through the adventure, so you are not overwhelmed. There have also been improvements to the weapons from the original. I won't spoil anything for you, but it is a good thing and it does make the game very exciting. There are new enemy types which makes your combat strategy vary, some are huge and some are tiny hordes. Online is improved and comes in two flavors. Co-op where you go through a different story with seven other people or you can compete online like you could in part one. The competitive isn't as frenzied as it was before, and I consider that an improvement but if you prefer not having time to think, you might be disappointed. The game has taken a hint from other first person shooters and only allows you to carry two guns at once. This change makes me think of SIlent Hill: Homecoming, both of these games are great, but are not very similar to their previous installments. The two guns issue has reduced difficulty because ammo is more plentiful since you cannot carry multiple guns. In the first one you could carry all the guns you had found so far, meaning you had plenty of ammo but for different guns so you sometimes had to conserve the ammo for one gun by using a gun that wasn't perfect for your situation. Now, they cannot assume you have the right gun for the job so it is given to you, along with ammo. Basically, it takes away some of the strategy of the first one. Nathan talks more now. In the first one he was almost mute only saying the occasional line, now he has a personality. That is like the two guns issue, a change. Not necessarily bad or good, but worth mentioning. The last potentially bad change is that the HUD (heads up display which you always see around the screen) gives much less information. You cannot see your health bar now, but the screen darkens when you are in trouble so it isn't a guessing game, but it can be confusing at first. This game is great, but I had to address the changes that were made. I welcome the changes and enjoyed both campaigns and can recommend this to anyone looking for a first person shooter.

Very fun game but man is this game tricky from chamelons,to furrys it gets harder every battle which may turn some people off but for others no.The really easy part is up until the san francisco level when you retreat from the drone and run into the room with the ring surrounded by water with a furry swiming in it hard as running from bees. The guns are awesome though everything from magnums with exploding bullets,to sniper rifles with slo mo effects you take them on in daring enviroments.Rent it but dont buy it

    Quite good FPS

I used to be a big fan of R1, which still is a very good game for playing. I bought this game with great expectation and for good or bad I played it after COD4. Even when the game is enjoyable it lacks the quality and playability of COD4. In the bad side I think that aiming to targets is not quite precise (like you shoot anywhere and bullets hit the target anyway, it is so much forgiving) and bosses are quite easy to defeat (leviathan and other big bosses should be harder). And difficulty is quite easy (I beat it in difficult the first time I played it with no problems). In summary, I feel as if the game lacks a good polishing to do it more enjoyable. And it is a shame that the coop mode is gone for the entire game. Even so, still it is a good game, but I did not get so compelling to defeat it at all cost as I was with Bioshock, COD4 and other good quality games. I think you will enjoy it, but please do not play it after COD or Killzone II. Graphics are very good, sound is spectacular for a 5.1 system and story is quite good. I did not play it on line so I won’t tell anything about it. Recommendable FPS, but you will get more for a $59.99 FPS with killzone II or COD.
