First true gaming headset and this thing is Amazing. Everything about it including the materials feels premium. After I made some adjustments it fits really well and is very comfortable even after wearing it for a long period of time. Battery lasts pretty long too. The sound on this thing is top notch even when not using a Dolby Atmos source. But having Dolby Atmos support is a huge plus. I use it for both listening and gaming as it works really well in both situations. The only con I can think of is that the microphone cannot be detached or moved to the other side. This is more of a preference thing but I like the microphone to be on my right side not left. Some headsets allow you to flip them around to reverse it or have a detachable microphone that can be switched. This specific model does not. All in all I would say this is still a 5 star gaming headset.

This was exactly what I needed. It was priced well, and it works great. Only drawback is the cable for charging is too short to use while charging since my PC tower sits on the floor. Otherwise, great buy.

Plantronics new RIG 800HD Wireless Gaming Headset is another solid entry into their gaming initiative. Pretty much everything I said about the RIG 500 Pro carry over to the RIG 800HD. So why the better score? Well, my biggest complaint regarding the lack of a headphone splitter is solved by the use of USB. Since these are wireless they use a transmitter/receiver that is USB powered to communicate with the headphones. Problem solved. The RIG 800HD is a supremely comfortable headset to use. It is very easy to adjust and once fitted can easily be worn for hours without fatigue. The mic has a physical flip up/down on/off setting which is very convenient if you need to quickly mute yourself during play. The audio is nice and balanced for the price. No, it isn't going to replace your $1k magnetic planar headphones for music listening, but they still sound decent regardless. The mic is clear and easy to understand based on my testing with a few remote players I asked. Overall, the headset is comfortable and offers clear audio. The headset also comes with a code to access Dolby Atmos for Headphones on Windows 10 PCs. Is it the same as having discrete speakers all around you? Of course not, but the effect is real enough that you can pinpoint objects behind you and even above or below assuming the game supports it. The wireless connectivity has been solid and lag free. Battery life easily gets me or my oldest son through hours of gameplay. We got into the habit of just letting them charge overnight and that strategy has worked well for us. If you happen to forget to charge them the headset does support a quick-charge feature which will get you an hour or two in about 30 minutes of charging. The only real caveat to these being wireless is that they are only compatible with PCs. The wired variety work across multiple platforms. Some of the complaints I have read have been around the very plastic build quality. Well, it is a matter of value proposition folks. If you want to keep them light and comfortable and not cost a fortune plastic is the answer. The long term durability is obviously a question and one I can't answer yet, but they do seem well built. Overall, these are a great wireless headset and I can easily recommend them.

good sturdy headset but the sound is not too bad but there's no program to set them up for PC tuning

I must explain that these are replacing a several year old pair of Turtle Beach wireless headphones that were being held together with duct tape and had chew marks from my dog, so anything would have been an improvement. So first of all the comfort. The RIG 800HD is a super lightweight headset that has a 3 position adjustment to fit my big head as well as a comfortable head strap the hold the headset in place even when throwing a rage fit. I wore these for about 3 hours the first use and never felt any discomfort or need to take them off. Also I forgot to charge them overnight and when i put them on for a gaming session the next day was able to play another 2 to 3 hours without the battery dying. I haven't pushed them til the battery is dead but I would say you could easily play for 6 to 8 hours with out having to recharge. One reason I gave the 4 star rating was for the Dolby Atmos sound it promises. After playing the first few sessions i downloaded the Atmos software and didn't really notice much of a difference with the surround sound. If iI turned my PC volume almost to the max I could notice a little difference but not enough to call them full immersive audio cans. The mic sound and its muting option are way better then my previous headset. Before friends said I sounded like I was under water but now they say I am coming through loud and clear. Also to mute the mic I don't need to fel around for a mute button I can just lift the mic upward and it mutes itself. Even though I didn't think the Atmos added that much quality to the sound the sound is very good without it. The EQ has 4 setting which all deliver a different but excellent sound quality. The 2nd option really had deep bass which sounded awesome as bombs are exploding. Overall I really like the headset but don't get to excited about the claim for Dolby Atmos surround sound.

they are great headphones for normal use but when it comes to gaming the mic needs a step up in quality
