Great unit. Easy install with no wires. I added the solar panel back plate to extend the battery life. I do keep a second battery charged so there is no downtime when the battery needs charging. Easy to connect to the home WiFi. Video and Audio is suprisingly clear. I highly recommend.

This Ring doorbell replaces an older (I think version 1?) unit, which I inherited from the previous occupant of my house. It is definitely a worthy upgrade. Two main reasons why it is better: 1) Battery can be removed (and replaced with a charged spare battery) for recharging rather than having to detach the entire unit for charging; and 2) the camera is much better, in particular with an option to see a wider field of view.

My husband and I love this camera. It was very easy to set up and install. Took us about 10 mins and it connects to our wifi with no issues. The video is great, the motion detector works great, and the live feeds are great. Would highly recommend.

Definitely worth the purchase, just purchased another one. I first heard of ring because their doorbell camera and that’s what I feel they do best. I had experience with their stick up cameras and definitely was not a fan at all. But the ring doorbell on the other hand is great, has good picture quality, good audio, good battery life and great WiFi connectivity even at a distance.

We love our ring camera. We had one for the last 6 years and needed to replace it. They work great, wonderful picture quality. We have tried other brands but nothing beats Ring. We have a total of 5 cameras and they are all amazing.

We were searching for a dependable smart doorbell. After reading reviews, we choose the Ring Doorbell Plus. It was so easy to install, it took about 10 minutes and has worked perfectly! It really is “stupid proof”, and gives us everything that we wanted for security.

The Ring Doorbell Camera is easy to install and delivers sharp video quality both day and night. Motion detection is accurate, and alerts arrive quickly on the app. Two-way audio works well for speaking with visitors. Sometimes notifications lag slightly, but overall it’s a dependable security upgrade for any home.

Installation took about 10 minutes. Was basically 2 wires to hook onto the back and drilling 4 holes into the siding to mount the doorbell. Including the template would have been nice if you needed to pre-drill. Battery takes forever to fully charge. I had to leave it on the charger overnight to reach 100%. It also drains pretty fast if you have motion alerts and check live view too much. Went down to about 85% on the first day. Afterwards, I paused motion alerts during the day since I’m WFH and the trickle charge bumped it by 1-2% per day. If you live where there’s lots of foot traffic going by you or you will check live view because you’re waiting on packages I would go with a hardwired version and skip this battery one. The other option would be to buy a couple spare batteries and be ready to swap them out every couple weeks.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Battery Doorbell Plus so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:
Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity. Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones." Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically. You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.
You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.
To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard. Tap "Devices." Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage." Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".
As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras may experience several issues, including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:
36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently. 32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery. -5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.
When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.
We recommend using the Ring Solar Charger or the Ring Plug-In Adapter to assist with extending the life of the battery in your Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. The Ring Solar Charger for Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is a solar power source that can be mounted behind yourBattery Doorbell Plus. The Ring Plug-in Adapter (2nd Generation) is designed to convert battery-powered video doorbells so they can run using line current.

Pretty cool device. I live in an apartment so I had to silence the motion alerts because there is frequently someone passing by my doorway. But after having a package stolen when I was out of town I like the piece of mind the Ring provides. It's really easy to remove the battery for charging and it doesn't take long with a fast charging plug (2 hours). I accidentally bought a 2nd generation for my other home and it's more tedious to charge because you have to remove the whole doorbell.
Zooming in and out on recorded clips is very nice as well and the camer itself is good quality.

This Ring Doorbell Plus Smart was easy to install and get up and running. The battery life has been pretty good and only need to charge about once a month. Video is pretty sharp and the sound is adequate. I would recommend this Ring product.
