Would assume good if wifi extender work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great as a chime but there is an issue with the wifi extender which is the main purpose I got this. I am definitely tech savy and end up with errors with the wifi. Mainly using it as a regular chime.

Posted .Hi Johnny,
It is important to us that you are able to use the wifi extending feature of your Ring Chime Pro. This device should allow you to easily pair other Ring devices to the Chime Pro Network. This way, you can better their internet connection and improve your home security.
Should relocating or power cycling your Chime Pro not resolve the issue, you can try hard resetting the device. To do so, please plug it into a working wall outlet. Then, press and hold the set-up button for 15 seconds, then release. A reset will help clear most underlying issues with your Chime Pro.
After the reset completes, you should be able to pair your Ring devices to the Chime Pro Network.
Please visit our community forum at https://community.ring.com/, for some additional tips and support. We look forward to hearing from you.

It's kinda okay I guess.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this one up for the wifi extender capability. It probably works okay within a home but if you want to use it for a ring camera that's roughly 50ft away I'd go with some other option.

Posted .Hi doomsauce,
We understand how important it is to experience a reliable connection to your Ring devices. The Ring Chime Pro is intended to help better your connection to Ring doorbells and cameras. With proper placement and the Chime Pro Network, you should notice a significant difference. Our team is here to ensure that is the case.
Placement of your Chime Pro is key. For the initial setup of the Chime Pro, place it within a 20 feet radius of your router to ensure a successful setup. Once the unit is set up, move your Chime Pro halfway between the router and the Ring device.
We would love to ensure you are being provided with a wifi solution that works best for you, and recommend considering a mesh network environment, such as the Eero. Additionally, on our Ring Community page you may be able to get connected with other Ring users who have found solutions to experiences similar to yours: https://community.ring.com/.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having a consistent wifi signal on your Ring device. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.
It sounds like the device is not operating as expected. Even with your Chime Pro, your router is still your main source of connection for your Ring device. Ideally, the maximum distance between the router and your device is 20-25 feet with the Chime Pro about halfway between the Ring device and your router. If possible, try moving the router closer to the device. Also, make sure your router is not in a closet or behind furniture, like a sofa, so the router has an unobstructed signal.
We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Chime Pro. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.

Posted .Hello Xxxx,
Here at Ring, we understand how critical it is for your Ring Chime Pro to work as intended. It's a key component to ensure all connected Ring devices have a strong signal, along with providing an internal audio effect through your home. We are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Chime Pro extending your wifi signal. When this happens, we recommend moving your Chime Pro. The ideal placement for your Chime Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to.
Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved, and ideally, the maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet. If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might need a different solution to a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network instead of a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having your Ring camera detect and record all meaningful motion events. Consistent and dependable motion alerts and recordings are essential features for the Ring camrea to function properly. This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern that you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring cameras are designed with customizable motion settings providing adjustablility to suit your needs. Ring cameras use adjustable motion detection and run on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
