I loved this game, well until I didn’t. The game got hard so I put it aside and never came back I will though. After I beat Ni no Kini. I do like the game though and would recommend ‘specially if you have your friend to play with.

An extremely fun, retro-style beat’em up with great action, funny characters and a the manga touches are nice. The humor is very self aware at times and the art style is just beautiful. I struggled to put it down, it’s a pretty short game especially if you only do the main story and avoid the side quests but it has a high replay ability

It took me a while to get to play this, but here we go: I'll start by saying the narrative is quite fun, and witty as well. Kyouko and Misako are quite the snappy characters, and will carelessly throw funny insults at anyone. The retro graphics add a wonderful charm to this game as well, so it's a real treat to play, but this game is far from perfect, and with a little tweaking, some of those irritating problems could be fixed. NOTE: There has been an update for all version of the game that fixes some of those issues, but for some reason, the Switch version still lacks said update. Pros: Fun music that fits the ambience of the game and its quirky, cynical, and rough-n-tough personality, a good quantity of moves to learn that will help you turn the tied in battle, lots of items to collect that will enhance your character, and heal their HP, and a TON of Double Dragon cameos that will have you saying "Ooh, I know that one!" Cons: The controls feel slow and clunky sometimes, and many times you will find that your attacks are overruled by the enemy's attacks constantly. Without the update, if you are ever close to an interactive NPC, door, or bus station, punching will have you changing scenes or activating dialogues by accident A LOT! Playing single player (which is the only way I could play) makes the game WAY too hard, and from what I have heard, playing with another person can make it too easy.

RCG caught my attention for its art style and developer. Co-op is the best thing about this game as it is very fun. Beating everyone in your path is solid for its genre and the rpg elements work well. I was shocked with how funny the writing is and it has great voice performances from the cast. The biggest problem is that the difficulty is all over the place. Overall, this is a fun beat em game to play with great co-op.

Great game for co-op with funny and cute characters, and great gameplay. If you like beat em ups with RPG elements this game definitely hits the spot. Great voice acting and charming characters.

Fun beat-'em up in the style of retro games like River City Ransom (this being a semi-sequel) and Streets of Rage. I like the RPG system and the exploration in the game, but sometimes the world feels like it's a little too big and you need to grind for levels. The need to gind levels might just be me not being great at the game.

I want to preface my review by saying, my opinion is based purely off this game delivering mechanically on what came before it. This game had a fair bit of controversy around it, partially due to the writing of the director and partially due to the voice cast featured in the game. Mechanically, and aesthetic this game is fantastic. The music as well, is quite fantastic as well. WayForward overall created another retro revival in the vein of Double Dragon Neon.

If you like old school beat em ups like River City Rampage or Streets of Rage, pick this up. Has a unique art style and fun to play with a friend. Can be a little difficult at times but nothing most gamers can't get past.

I am a fan on the beat’em up genre. While the genre itself can be stagnant, River City Girls really spruces up the action by incorporating rpg-like elements. Teach the characters new moves, level up, etc. This is a couch co-op hit in the household and the art style is really icing on the cake. Gameplay 10/10 and one of the best beat’em ups recently released on any platform.

This is an excellent action game that is reminiscent of older games. The graphics are awesome looking with color bursting everywhere. The music is also top notch and will keep things moving. I really like the design of the case and the cover. The manual inside is a nice extra that many will appreciate.

There's been a lot of retro brawlers on the Switch lately, but I have to say River City Girls has been my favorite. Environments are cool, fighting together as a team is fun, story is funny and the soundtrack is fantastic. Highly recommend to brawler fans.

An excellent update on a classic, with so much of its own cool style. This is the type of switch title that begs for a physical release, and fortunately best buy and limited run made it happen. Cool art great music and a couple girls kicking lots of pixels.

Sooo almost miss the graphics of the old River City Rumble game but they might just feel too old in today's games. but the graphics are still fun, the sound seems well done with the voice acting and music, and for as far as i have gotten the PLAY is well done. the part that seems to bug me is when playing with another player (and im sure by yourself) is that when you get near a door or the side of the screen and are trying to punch or kick the bad guys you might instead end up going in the door or to the next area instead of finishing the fight you were in. other then that seems to have a lot of the game ideas from the old 8 bit games.

If you enjoyed Scott Pilgrim vs The World, you'll love this. GREAT style, music and decent challenge. This game would be a welcome addition to the collection of any beat em' up fan.

Love this game i love the game and the soundtrack rocks! The Levels are tough but definitely keeps my attention. I love that it has co-op and it reminds me of the old beatem ups like streets of rage. Overall awesome game!

This game is pretty much a sequel to the old game River City Ransom, but with girls and a sweet anime art style. This is a great BeatEmUp game that is a perfect throwback to old classic BeatEmUps. Buy this game!

If you liked Scott pilgrim you will love this game! Supposed to be a spiritual successor to the classic river city ransom. Great old school graphics with a modern control.

This game is a great beat em up! Pays real homage to the classics while feeling fresh and new with it's style and gameplay it's also over the top funny!!
