A Good Choice for Mounting Large-Screen TVs

The Rocketfish™ - Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount for Most 50–100 in. TVs is a good choice as a solid mount for your larger TV.
The good news is that large-screen TVs have become much more affordable over the years. The challenge is in mounting these weightier beasts so that they’re firm and secure, yet still have some flexibility. A good solution that fits between the more expensive specialty attenuating mounts - and the slightly cheaper non-tilt mount-only versions is the The Rocketfish™ - Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount.
The Rocketfish comes as a complete package including the mount itself, hanging hardware for a variety of surfaces, and excellent instructions. The hanging template is a big help since it makes it easier to make sure the location of your screws are in sync with both your surface attachments (studs, concrete, or brick) and the necessary assembly of the mount itself to match your particular TV size and configuration.
An additional perk of this arrangement and wall mount is that you can install it with confidence that it’ll still be what you need if and when you upgrade (or downgrade) to a different size (within the 50”-to-100” range). Since installing large-screen TV mounts is not on my ‘things I like to do’ list, knowing this one may last me for a good while is reassuring. Although not a fully-attenuating mount, the Rocketfish does give a range of 3”-to-6”. I found this to be sufficient for my needs and definitely like being able to pull it forward in order to access the back of my TV when changing my cable configuration.
I recommend the Rocketfish™ - Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount for Most 50–100 in. TVs without hesitation.

Best fixed position tv mount I've ever used

TV Mounts aren't generally a rave-worthy item -- they allow you to mount your TV to wall, get it up off the furniture and keep your living space just a little less cluttered. As long as they feel heavy duty, over-engineered so that 75lbs of a $1000 TV doesn't suddenly fall of the wall and crush a child or beloved pet I take them for granted. This one was really cool though in that it addressed my biggest complaint with tilt wall mounts - I CAN NEVER GET AT THE BACK OF A TV IVE MOUNTED. The Extending capability of this wall mount was really clever - anytime you want to pull the Wii out of the basement and plug it in, or upgrade your OTA attenae or a 4k Roku for the HD one it is a pain to try and get at the back of the TV where all of the plugs are. By allowing you to pull the TV upto a half foot away from the wall it becomes easy to get a flash light pointed at the connected and run my over sized man-mitts along the back to disconnect and reconnect cables, it's then easy to move the TV back flush against the wall and have it perfectly adjusted for watching yet again. Beyond its very neat parlor trick, installation itself didn't seem perfectly special - it has a large collection of lags and bolts to meet the needs of your TV VESA mount and the features of the planned wall for installation. You can get it up and running in less then an hour.

This is the best and most robust extending tilt mount I've seen. I have been through tens of mounts over the years that advertise and offer angling, extending, tilting, etc, but they all usually have weak points that disappoint. I installed with an 88lb 85" TV, and the mechanism that locks the tilt in place just works. There is absolutely no sagging or unwanted movement of a heavy TV after install. All the parts are thicker than normal metal, the joints are well reinforced and I thought maybe it would be hard to extend once mounted, however the articulation is smooth and easy to adjust. Makes getting behind the TV to change wires and actually be able to see what you are doing a breeze. All the hardware is heavy duty and it is just a hands down smooth operating mount. Many advertise they can hold over 100lbs, and this is the one mount I've had so far that actually delivered. So happy with the form and function of this mount, that I will definitely buy another when mounting the next big heavy TV. Mark this one under the win category Rocketfish

I was in the market for a new tv mount for our downstairs when I was offered this Rocketfish Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount. This thing is impressive to say the least. I came very well boxed and protected, not that it needs to be.
The installation of this tv mount is very straightforward and very easy to do. I took the time and found two studs and mounted this very securely. I only have, at the time, a 65” name brand tv and I checked the Best Buy websites specification for my particular tv and it weighs 32 pounds. I don’t know what a 100” tv would weigh (I would love to find out) but IF I ever upgrade to a tv that big I have no doubt whatsoever that this Rocketfish will be able to handle the job. And it’s not that heavy at all, but you can just tell by the “feel” of it how well made this mount is. It comes w/ everything you need to mount it.
The best feature about this mount in my opinion is how far it extends out, and again, mine weighs ONLY 32 pounds and I think that this is the area most people will be reluctant to mount a 100” tv and extend it out as far as you can, but I have no doubt whatsoever that this Rocketfish mount will do the job, to the point I am now in the market for BIGGER tv.
I highly recommend this Rocketfish tv mount

[PROS]
Proper Manual: Mounting can be an intimidating process for beginners, but the manual is very specific with all instructions and with the items needed/recommended for mounting. From the drill bits sizes to the length of the pilot holes, the directions are clear and detailed.
Superb Construction: This tilting mount is made of solid, quality materials that lacks any flimsiness. Furthermore, I managed to not strip any screws in the process of installation.
Sturdiness: The mark of any great mount is how well it holds up. Most TV's are lightweight and the average 100" usually doesn't exceed 160 lbs with this product being able to support 220 lbs. I attached (with some help of course) a 75" TV, and there was virtually no give to the structure.
[CONS]
I didn't find anything negative in regards to the set up or usage of this mount. I personally prefer full motion mounts, but I lack nothing with this particular tilting version.
[CONCLUSION]
The Rocketfish Tilt TV Mount is a top tier product that would assist in any TV Setup. It doesn't have any bells and whistles, its extremely functional for the purpose its needed for.

Unique extending tilt TV wall mount

The Rocketfish Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount for Most 50–100 inch televisions is a great wall mount if you have a large flat-screen TV that you would like to mount and you don’t need something that provides more versatile viewing angles like a full-motion mount.
With its ability to extend out up to 6.25 inches from the wall and tilt from +3° to -10°, this Rocketfish TV mount makes it easy to find just the right viewing angle in most situations. The extending feature makes this mount very unique when comparing it to more standard tilt-only mounts and it really comes in handy when you need to access the back panel of the TV once it has been mounted.
This mount comes with all the installation hardware that is needed to get your TV mounted including a mounting template to make installation easier and it supports a wide range of VESA patterns from 100x100 all the way up to 850x600. Installation was very straightforward but I definitely recommend you have someone help you, especially when it comes time to lift your TV.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Rocketfish Extending Tilt TV Wall Mount for Most 50–100 inch televisions and I highly recommend it!

Robust mount

If you’re looking for a beefy robust mount, this Rocketfish extending mount delivers and then some. With a weight capacity up to 220lbs this thing will accommodate almost any tv you can throw at it. This is by far the highest weight capacity I’ve seen for any tv mount especially for one that can extend.I recently got an 85 inch tv for our living room and that made me want to upgrade my other tvs in our bedrooms from 55 inch to 75 and 85 inch and this will be the mount I use for both. Both mounts for my 55 inch tvs are solid but only support up to 100lbs. The heaviest of my new tvs weigh about 110lbs, so this mount will be more than sufficient, but seeing as TVs keep growing to crazy sizes, these give me room to grow if I decide to upgrade to something even larger down the road. For my first 85 inch tv I used a different mount that’s flat and doesn’t extend so you have to make all your connections before mounting or remove the tv to change or add anything. With this mounts extending ability of 6.25 inches, this makes it much easier to add or change things later. This mount allows you to future proof if you decide to upgrade later and gives you the confidence the tv you mount today is on a solid mount.

Best Heavy Duty Mount for 55"+ TVs

First, I want to say that you'll notice this Rocketfish TV mount has some weight to it, at about 20lb. So don't install on drywall, fortunately I am installing on a brick chimney. Also, plan for at least a 2-3 person install. Sharing that, because I should have probably gone with a GeekSquad install but had an old college room mate visit this weekend, which helped. A lot. I'll also add this is not an extending mount, but there is tilt and extension. What's to love is it is supports 50-100" TVs, so it's futureproofed. We run a 55" currently but plan to upgrade to 75"+ come Black Friday, so having a mount that will last is great. Installation is a mix of easy and hard, depending on how you're approaching it. Fit to your TV is easy, it uses VESA mounts. Installing on you wall, and maybe it's me, is anxiety inducing (ha!) there are guide templates but again, this is better done with 2 people It took us about an hour to install. I gave this 4 stars, only because I think I prefer full motion stand, but that's mainly because we have a large lounge room. But this is much better than a fixed mount, as there's enough tilt and motion on the Rocketfish so you can reach back to adjust cables without a headache (great if you need to recable something). There was is also just enough room that I can mount my AppleTV on the back of my TV. I would definitely reocmmend the Razorfish for an above fireplace TV mount!
