Customers love Rogue Legacy's addictive gameplay loop, which keeps the experience feeling fresh and challenging. The game's controls are also praised for being excellent and easy to learn, despite the difficulty. While some players find the game challenging, particularly in the later stages, many appreciate the difficulty as a positive aspect. Overall, the positive feedback on gameplay and controls outweighs concerns about the difficulty.

If you're a fan of rogue-like action games, this is a must. The gameplay loop is very addictive, and you'll spend hours re-entering the castle with new incremental upgrades that make each run a challenge until you become so powerful you can take on anything... until the New Game + hits you.

Great rogue-like game. I really enjoy these retro inspired games that present a bot of a challenge. Unfortunately, it seems that many games today are just too easy to be enjoyable for me. This game is fun.

Rogue Legacy is one of the original modern rogue-likes to really make the genre great. You are a Knight who must go through a castle with four major areas and defeat the final boss. You start off weak and with minimal health, magic and weapons, but can build your character’s stats by doing several runs. You will die a lot, but but get stronger and better as you go. Games such as Dead Cells benefited from this formula over time, but Rogue Legacy is the original great game of this variety. I recommend it for anyone who wants to experience the types of games that began the rogue-lite revolution.

This is a really fun game if you enjoy the style of gameplay. You will die many times as you go through the castle to reach different boss battles. Every time you die you can use your money to upgrade your next character, and pick from 3 family members who have their own set of strengths and weaknesses. The game puts some fun twists not seen in other rogue type games. A fun experience with some monotony at times to upgrade. Overall a fun experience.

Gameplay is similar to a metroidvania mixed with roguelite mechanics.
Each time you die you choose a new ancestor with different traits and abilities. Gold collected from your last trip through the castle can be used to purchase weapons, armor, and upgrades. These purchases carryover to each new ancestor, making the game easier as you continue playing.
Visuals are done nicely in a 16-bit era style. Some of the music gets a little repetitive after playing for a while since there are only 4 main areas.
Overall Rogue Legacy is a fun and challenging roguelite game that I would highly recommend.

There are a lot of better games for the switch, but this one is good for car trips and times you just need a quick game. Pretty basic rogue like with a small twist, and a lot of meta progression.

I’m so glad Rouge Legacy has a switch port. It was a really fun game on pc. But now being able to Play it on the go is just great. It’s one of those fun games that even though it’s single player you can have a great time passing the controller off with your friends, competing to see who gets the farthest in a run, etc.

This is one of the best rogue like games behind the binding of Isaac of course. I’ve had a digital version of this game for a few years now but since this came out physically I had to support it again. Highly recommended if you like this style of game.

What a stupid fun game. It is challenging at all times and I love it. The 'rogue-lite' archetype works so well here. I think if roguelikes are something you're even a little bit interested in then look no further.

A hugely triumphant take on the Metroidvania formula that delights with its fresh take on roguelike gameplay elements, Rogue Legacy empowers the player, rather than punishes them and is simply one of the finest games you can play.
