A mixed bag - I enjoyed the visual novel elements but the gameplay became bland and repetitive. I did fully beat the game, but didn't want to replay stages which is required for the platinum trophy. I bought the game early to support Sega and I hope that they continue bringing niche titles over to the West.

It's a great game if you know anything about the series or previous games

It's playing a 90s anime, with all the cheesiness and inspiring speeches that implies. The characters are fun to hang out with, the performances are excellent, and it's just a wonderful time in steampunk Tokyo. Welcome to a Taisho romance in a storm of cherry blossoms!

Main emphasis and focus of the game is on the storytelling and visual novel aspect, but it's still pretty fun to zoom around in the mechs during the Dynasty Warriors gameplay parts. The graphics are great, and SEGA did a good job bringing Kubo's distinct artstyle to life, just wish they had voice acting for the entire game.

I’ve never actually played a Sakura Wars game before, so this was my first and I’m happy to say I’m a fan. The characters are cute, and the interactions are fun. The combat is similar to dynasty warrior games, which I don’t mind. Overall it’s a great game.

Can't give it 5 stars because have to constantly read sub throughout the game. Beyound that it's a fun game part dating sim, part anime, and part battle with a side card game as well. It's a fun game not a take turn type battle format what I like can go after any enemy if you don't sight lock them.

Not only happily surprised that they decided to do a remake of this series, but to also release in the US? Do not miss this game. A change in the combat style from the original SEGA Saturn games, but still so much fun.

I remember this game from back in the days! It never came out in America, but now it's no longer back in the days! Now it's like front of the days and Sakura Wars is finally out! Grab your robot and ride it to the moon!

On its own, this is a great game. But compare this to previous titles, this is only good. Fan of this series might find this game to disappointing. It's a visual novel with a bit of RPG.

I haven't even installed the game. Buuuut! Characters look amazing. Youtube says it's good. I guess I'll get a chance when I finish the other 20 Anime games I also haven't installed.

Great little gem. Fusion of Dynasty warrior Gundam with a slice of life comedy. IF you are a fan of comedic anime and enjoy little slice of giant robots then this is one for you.

Sakura Wars is an easy title to recommend to anyone looking for a layered game world populated by a cast of memorable characters. However, those who prefer a more immediately rewarding adventure will likely get exhausted by its story-heavy setup.

Always wanted to play this series and finally did. Haven’t finished it yet but I’m enjoying it. If you’re a fan of anime, rpgs and dating Sims this game may be for you.

The strengths of this game are it's story and characters. Don't expect compelling gameplay outside that; It's an alright game. If you're into anime, then I would highly recommend Sakura Wars.

I bought this for my brother and he loved it. I recommend buying products from this store as opposed to Game Stop because it was very well put together and neatly packed.

Decent balance of gameplay to story. Like watching an average anime. If it had more variable gameplay with more RPG elements i would rate higher.

I'm glad that SEGA released this game in the US. I hope we continue to get more games like this in the future.

If you JRPG fans don’t dabble in choice heavy VN’s too much because you feel like there isn’t much to its gameplay, this may pique your interest.
