Very good picture with easy integration

I purchased this as an open box in Sherman, Texas after my Panasonic Plasma died. Great price. I had researched the 4K televisions in my budget and for my stand which accommodates at 43 inch set. I have a Apple TV version 4 (not 4K), Roku 3 stick, Sony Blu-ray player and a 8 year old Yamaha's RX-V667.. easy set up and I was amazed at how well and how easy it was for the TV to recognize the different components and I as able integrate them into the menu. I auditioned the 4K by streaming “Earth 2” on Netflix with an internet speed of 35-65 megs up. A very good 4K picture . The remote was basic and I’m still learning. Very good purchase and my home theatre will be getting a 4K Blu-ray player soon.

I needed a TV with Blue Tooth - And found it

I was looking for a medium size (42") TV set with blue tooth as they are a few and far between. I reviewed several models and came across this Samsung right in my back yard. The fellow who helped my did not know if the blue tooth would work with my ear phones as some sets have it just for the sound bar. He was wrong. Albeit I needed to locate the audio external setting, not easy because the titles are confusing, I found them and it worked. I now I don't have to hear my wife yelling that my TV is to loud!!, just kidding.

Upgraded from 40 to 43 inch Samsung

We’ve had a 40 inch Samsung TV for a year and are very happy with it. I bought the 43 inch for the slightly better viewing distance in our condo. The UHD clarity was well worth the upgrade. Netflix and Amazon Prime feature was icing on the cake.

Tv will be great when another one arrives. First one arrived with a white spot 1/4 inch diameter in the middle of the screen. Spent 15 minutes on the phone with Samsung to test and diagnose then spent over an hour and 30 minutes being bounced between 5 different people waiting for bestbuy/ geek squad reps to answer and take care of me. This review may be updated once I have a better product in my possession.

    Samsung 4k UHD 43" Flatscreen

    |

    Posted .

I bought this TV when my 9 year old LG flat screen finally died. I really wanted to go for a larger model, but I am space restricted. After checking out online reviews, which were few due to this model's newness, I made the plunge. Setup was easy. The remote took a little getting used to because it is unlike any TV remote I've ever owned, but once I fiddled with it for a few minutes, I got the hang of it. I am feeding the signal to the TV using a Yamaha receiver that has a satellite box, a BD player, and a Fire TV stick going into it. All switching is done through the Yamaha receiver. So I use the TV remote only to power on the TV. BTW the Yamaha receiver is rated for 4K UHD. Initially, I was having problems keeping the TV to hold it's input source. I would be watching a program from the Satellite receiver when suddenly the TV would drop it's input source - the screen would indicate "no signal" Pressing the source select option and re-selecting the correct input source, it would continue showing the program I had been watching. This continued to happen until I saw a brief message show up on the screen that indicated the TV was getting a weak signal. I went out and bought a new highly rated HDMI cable (Rocketfish) and replaced the cable going from the Yamaha receiver to the TV. This fixed the input source dropping problem. Once that was fixed, I've had no further dropouts of signal. The picture quality is excellent. The menu options allow you to tweak the picture to your desire. The menu is well laid out and user friendly.. I watched some youtube 4K videos and they look pretty spectacular. I have had dificulty connecting this TV to my home network - in fact after several attempts over the last month to get it connected, I have given up. Fortunately, I really don't need the TV to get internet access because I can access all the streaming content I want through my Fire TV stick. My only concern regarding the connectivity issues is not being able to get updates to the TV. All in all, I am happy with this TV and would recommend it based on picture quality alone.

    Very nice, Easy Set-Up

A little apprehensive purchasing this tv when the store did not even have one on display, just stocked in the rack. Salesman said "it's kinda like this one, only smaller." Then had to read the box to tell me the features, and go to the website to find out the price! Having looked at the item online already, read the rave reviews, I already knew much more than the salesman. Angst aside, I purchased.... and love it! Super easy set-up, point the remote at the cable box and push a button. Channels all programmed. I did (and you will want to too) go into the settings and tweak the contrast and brightness, especially the auto darkening. Very happy with the performance.

Good 4K TV for the Price

This is a very good 4K TV for the money. The picture and sound quality are excellent. The HDR feature so far hasn't been better than using the other picture options. To get a better model from Samsung would have cost considerably more than this one and I wasn't sure if it was worth it. I read a lot of reviews to help me decide between this and the 7000 model. I have a sound bar and subwoofer but decided to use it for something else because you don't really need it unless you really want booming bass. The only thing I'm really annoyed about is there is no power on timer, but there is power off timer. Why did Samsung choose to eliminate this feature? There is a sleep timer so this really makes no sense to me that a power off timer is there without the power on timer. I've been using a TV instread of an alarm clock for 25 years and even with my cable TV power on alarm I can't use this TV as an alarm because if there's no signal, after a half hour the TV will power off automatically. I've looked at every menu option but there is no way to get around this. I had a 2015 Samsung 4K TV model that had both power on and off timers (that got broken). The only reason I'm not returning this TV for a Sony (because it does have both power on and off timers) is that it would cost $200 more than this TV and I'm not sure I'd like the Android over the Tizen smart TV platform. The lack of a headphone jack is also annoying but I knew about this before I bought the TV. If you need to use your TV to wake up this is not the TV for you. I would have given it 5 stars if I could have gotten around the auto power off or it had a power on timer.

    Excellent picture

Purchased this TV mainly for the ratings on Consumer Reports. Up to this moment I am very satisfied with it. The picture resolution is astounding. The clarity and sharpness on the screen is superb. The color saturation and vividness is breathtaking when watching content either on line streaming(i. e. Netflix) or over the air channels that transmit in Ultra HD 4K. The picture quality is so intense that it sometimes feel like you are watching a 3D presentation. Even when watching old black and white media that has been shot on film. Please be advised that if a channel is not transmitting in HD you will note it immediately and the difference is quite jarring. The unit is Wi Fi capable and easy to setup. The viewing angle is also very good from a wide range of positions. To get the best overall performance of the set I started out with putting all the settings as recommended by the Consumer Reports Optimized Picture Settings, then adjusted a couple of settings for personal preference and room dynamics, such as ambient lighting, etc.. Again, the projected images on the screen in HD is phenomenal. This TV also has an excellent sound quality. Although I use a soundbar, without it it still has a very good, clear sound production and easy to understand dialogue with the built-in speakers. Set has 3 HDMI inputs, 1 shared Componet/Composite video input and 2 USB ports. There are two negatives: One- The setup instructions are very basic with sparse writing and confusing diagrams/drawings. Two- weird non intuitive slim remote control. The volume- channel buttons toggle forward or backward to change and pressing them brings up different menus. Also the remote is not lighted, so in the dark it nearly impossible to operate. Otherwise, a reasonably priced, excellent TV with astounding picture quality.

This TV is everything I wanted

This tv is everything I've wanted for a very long time. The picture is gorgeous, the size is perfect for my living room and I happened to see it on sale which made for me, a fantastic bargain! This Samsung does everything I've ever wanted from a home entertainment piece and continues to amaze me as to how many functions it is capable of. I really like when I have time to open the owner's manual for I have yet not to discover something else I didn't know it could do. The 3D is as excellent as I've ever seen and so much fun. I do wish there were a better selection of videos and on line movies that would allow me to utilize my 3D more. That's not my TV's fault, however. Nor is the consequence of losing the manufacturer's remote control. If you do, it is painful to find out that there is ONLY 1 (ONE) available no matter how hard you search to find a less expensive version and that comes at $100 per pop. There are no generic brands, cheaper models or sales that I could find on these remotes so I recommend you hold on tight. Of course, when you find the one you "lost forever," it does relieve you from the panic attacks you get when even for a split second, you can't find the new one! Other than these 2 incidentals, there is absolutely nothing negative I could say about my 65" Samsung. It is a source of comfort to feel confident in knowing that no matter when I turn it on, it will do what I instruct it to do, that everything will work the way I was told it would work and that it will still be perfect in its performance. My review might sound a little over the top but that's okay...this TV actually is a small slice of luxury for me and I don't mind saying so..

This is the fifth Samsung TV I've purchased and the first UHD (4K) TV I've owned. I have always been a big fan of how easy Samsung TVs are to use; Smart Hub is something my elderly parents are able to handle. This model features an updated Smart Hub that's really handy. For example, instead of just showing the Netflix icon as with past models, highlighting the icon pulls up your recently watched Netflix shows/movies while still in Live TV mode. You can jump directly into your previously watched program with one click. I also love the voice control feature of the remote. You can open apps by name ("Amazon Instant Video" or "UFC.tv"), set sleep timers ("Set sleep timer for 60 minutes"), and more. Extremely convenient. The picture is something I'm still getting used to. I bought this TV to replace a FHD TV, and I'm very happy with this TV's 4K picture. I don't have a 4K disc player, but the upscaling on Blu-Rays and streaming video is excellent. The picture quality is unbelievable when I hook up my laptop to this TV. I can only imagine what a QLED TV would look like. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and I'm happy I bought the warranty so this TV will be around for years to come.

    Easy Setup with Samsung Phone

This was my 1st choice, but I challenged the salesman to find something that fit my needs... Simple Remote, Smart TV, and the size to fit the entertainment center. He made a false claim on another brand and when I returned it because of that, I did not hesitate to go straight to my 1st choice and purchase it. After some small assembly and after Inputting my wifi password, the TV asked me if the phone on the network was mine and I said yes. It downloaded an app onto my phone which provided me with all that I wanted, remote control capabilities, sound on my phone, watch TV on my phone, and cast to the TV. I was pleased already. The TV was ready to go unlike that other brand which after 4 hours I finally figured out it was in a eco mode and wasn't bright enough for me. Very pleased with this purchase and next time it is Samsung all the way

We aren't big TV watchers. When our 20 year old analog ProScan finally died, we needed a smaller HDTV that would fit in our old entertainment center. Checked out all the 42" on the showroom floor and chose the Samsung. It was easy to setup and program. Love the picture quality. And our Xfinity remote integrated seamlessly. That was important for this old "non-techie" guy.

I purchased this Samsung 43" Class (42.5" Diag.) - LED 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV because we needed to replace an old, old Sony 32". That one worked great and we have no problems with it, except it keeps on cutting off the sides of the picture. Samsung is known as a high quality product, I expected the best for the price and I got it. The picture is incredible, don't forget what I'm used to. The volume is perfectly pitched and we can both hear it from our bed. I can't go into all the product information because we had to have someone set it up for us. We are technologically deficit and have a low frustration tolerance. My husband can't read instructions without throwing his tools or having a fit. This is the last TV we'll ever get and I am confident that it will last for decades.

    We do love this TV

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.

This TV is for our living room & is our main family TV. We have really enjoyed it. It is a great size, without being too large for our room. We ended up getting a different stand for it, since we wanted the ability to swivel it, while it sits on the TV stand. But that all works great now. We have had a few issues with the lightness of the picture, which has to be adjusted from time to time. Basically we do not like the factory default settings for this & so we have to make our own. It took some configuring & conversations over the phone with Samsung, but we made it work. Also, it seemed like the ability to add, delete, & update apps on the TV is not very versatile. What I am saying is that that the apps that came with the TV only worked well for a little while. We are unable to get rid a whole passel of them to make room for new ones or update the ones we wanted. This too we have worked on fixing through calls to Samsung or looking it up online, all to no avail. It is frustrating to not have some of the abilities we originally bought the TV to have. However, we do still love it!

This was my original purchase but I let the salesman talk me into another product (which I ended up returning). I had to go into the store (vs buying through the app/web) in order to see what I'm interacting with ... The Remote. The remotes are not pictured on the details (think about this major retailers) and I wanted something simple like an on/off, Channel up/down, Volume up/down, and a directional pad to navigate. I'm not interested in number pad, tv/dvd/cable/ect, sound/picture profiles ... Just something simple. I found this TV easy to set up and ready to go. Previous TV I had to make picture adjustments.... backlight too dark. While I know that Samsung make it nice to work across their items I was surprised that the TV asked about my phone and if I want to control it/pair it with it. (they were both on the same home network router) I was super happy about this (makes great gags with the kids ... Who changed the channel/muted the TV? ... Lol) This TV tuner even picked up more DTV channels than the one I returned (remember the salesman .. It was an LG by the way) If I needed another TV .... Samsung is a no brainer for me.

I was upgrading from a 32 inch Samsung and first went with an LG because the price was lower. I promptly returned it the next day and exchanged it for this one. Yes, it was $150 more but let me tell you it is well worth it! The LG had an OK picture but the sound was horrible. This TV is excellent all-around! It is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. The picture quality is very good and the sound is excellent. I like that there are several sound options. I love the full web browser feature. All of the apps are very easy to find and use. So far I've only used the web browser, YouTube and Netflix but they all work great! The particular TV I got ended up having a small sound defect, which I truly Think was a fluke. Best Buy, with their excellent customer service, let me exchange it and I Ended up with a 49 inch that has high dynamic range. Basically, I got this exact TV only with high dynamic range in a 49 inch size. I have to say, I there is quite a difference with the high dynamic range. The picture quality goes from very good to excellent! So, if you can't afford an extra hundred dollars or so, I would say go with the one that does have the high dynamic range. I can really tell the difference. So that is the only reason I gave this TV the four stars. However, if you don't have the extra hundred dollars or so, this is still an excellent television for the price! Here is the link to the 49 inch that I ended up getting and absolutely love! https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-49-class-48-5-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-with-high-dynamic-range/5768600.p?skuId=5768600
