Q: the specs say there is no warranty with this product ...is this correct and if so whats up with that
A: Samsung says in their documents they automatically give you a 4 year warranty. I was also surprised by this.
A: This was a great TV purchase. I had originally purchased a 43" LG TV, was not happy with it and exchanged it for this one. The remote that comes this TV is superior to most, and it does operate my Fios DVR Set-top box, I can operate all of the DVR settings using either the Samsung TV remote or the Fios DVR remote. It also turns on and off my Samsung DVD player. This might be because my old DVD player is a Samsung and so is the TV, I am not certain. Once the DVD is playing and if I need to pause or backup for any reason I use the remote that came the DVD player, seems to respond a little better for these functions. TV also comes with 2 conversion cords, one to covert old white, red and yellow cables and another to convert red and blue cables to one AV plugin, but if you have some old equipment as I do you can buy cables to convert to HDMI. The LG TV was easier to get going as it was more simplistic, however it would not acknowledge my Fios router's wireless password so the internet could not be used. I tried it a dozen times, finally called LG and tech staff tried it as well, with no success. Tech did not believe I had given him the correct password, I told him it is stamped on the side of the router and had checked and tripled checked it. He then said I needed to call Verizon as it was obvious they changed the password without my knowing it and they needed to give me the new password. I knew that he was wrong and as I was not happy with the LG's dark picture and few settings to improve it I exchanged TV. I had no problem whatsoever getting the Samsung TV to accept the Fios wireless password and am easily able to use the internet and I am sure it will work well with streaming too if I can just decide which service to use. The sound on the Samsung TV is also superior to LG's. I was told they all pretty much sound the same but this is not true, you have more settings and can get more volume if you have something noisy going on in the background. Additionally I prefer this TV stand as the LG's felt wobbly after the feet were screwed in; and this is important to me as I have cats that like to jump on the furniture, they would have to really work at it to knock this one over. I hate to keep critizing poor LG, I have an LG droid I really like, but this TV was by far the better purchase and I am really glad I spent a little bit more and got it.
Q: I'm concerned about comments that the tv dims itself -- can that feature be turned off?
A: Yes. Go into SETTINGS, GENERAL, ECO SOLUTION, turn off AMBIENT LIGHT DETECTION.
A: 29 1/2" tip to tip
Q: what in the different in 1080p an 2160p
A: When viewing something in 2160p the picture resolution is over twice as refined as 1080p.
A: I noticed the same thing. I looked on Samsung's website and it says that it does have Bluetooth. The 40 inch is the same model # and it has bluetooth.
Q: Can this TV work with Netflix as an app?
A: yes it has built in application of Netflix
