OK BUT NOT GREAT

It has worked well up until NOW... not even 5 years old. I have a multitude of Insignia 32" tv's I use for computer monitors and a couple 55" Insignia tv's I've had longer and they all still work perfectly. Several of the 32s are on 24/7 and still going strong. This one has failed me... part of the screen is fading away and now the volume won't go high enough.

We have been saving and searching for a year for the right 4k TV. Best Buy had one of the best deals around and the quality we ended up getting was everything we needed. The smart tv function is great, we don't need any additional equipment to stream our favorite networks and the setup was super easy. I will say with the legs on the outer most edges we had to get a bigger console but just something to be mindful of when choosing a larger TV like this.

Samsung really seems to have gone out of its way to make their "smart" tv smarter than most. We turned in our cable box years ago, and haven't ever regretted it, and with this TV, we don't need any extra contraptions to access our favorite streaming content. In addition to the usual characters (Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc.), there's an app for adding apps such as Disney Plus, CBS All Access, and--here's the kicker--the Apple TV app. You can watch all of your iTunes content without the Apple TV set-top box. Finally, they have a big lineup of channels on their TV+ feature, many of which are worthy substitutes for those occasionally helpful cable channels: news, weather, some sports, old gameshows, obscure documentaries, and lots more oddball channels that I had never heard of. All in all, we're happy with the product...my only caution is that it will work best in a dark room. If there's much light, the TV will seem just a tad dark even with the brightness turned all the way up. Even so, if you do most of your TV watching at night, as we do, you'll be amazed at the beautiful picture. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if I had a place to put it.

Built well, but missing A LOT of features.

A friend broke my living room TV when visiting so offered to replace it for me. Nice gesture, but I should have been picky and told them what I wanted - with their paying for it though I left it up to them. The Samsung NU6900 is what they got. It's been a horrible experience. Rather than write a book, let me just list a few of the issues/omissions about this model that many people might overlook, thinking that today in 2019, that EVERY TV 55 inches and up would have these features (surprise - they don't)...
1: Glare. The screen panel is really bad with glare from lamps, windows, etc. Much worse than my 12 year old TV this replaced. You have to turn lamps off to watch this.
2) No Bluetooth: Without bluetooth, you cannot use wireless headphones, other wireless devices, and you cannot "cast" video from your phone or tablet onto the TV. HUGE omission in a modern set.
3) Only Two HDMI ports: No excuse for this on a 65" TV. Even my tiny cheap 32" TV (other brand) in my room has 3. You are extremely limited to only two things plugged in to your set at once and have to unplug/plug cables to swap other devices.
4) Horrible remote control: Small buttons, hard to see, and some wise person actually put the "return" button right under the left navigation key, so you can very easily bump yourself out of the entire area you're in very easily. Nice.
I could go on but those are the major things to be aware of. This is an absolutely bare-bones, "TV only" type of set with the ability to awkwardly navigate some apps. There are other brands that will give you those missing features in the same price range. Samsung should be ashamed to make a 65" TV missing so many modern features. This one I'd avoid. Even as a gift, I'm most likely going to return it and swap it for something else. Avoid.

I love thus 65 inches or giant TV in giant color is awesome and I really enjoy it. Highly recommend it. The only thing I didn't like but wasn't a deal breaker it doesn't come with the mounting screwes for a wwall hanger, so like most people my age I have had several big screen TVs and I bought a killer stand for near what I paid for my first TV, used it with every TV since... but this TV requires a huge screw better yet 4 huge screws, it came with the plastic spacers but we had to buy the screws through the company. they sell a bag of screws fitting all their TVs for like $10 $6.50 shipping so for the 4 I used I paid around $4.25 each I just wish they would have charged me the extra 16 bucks and put the dang gone screws in the box. this way I have maybe 12 to 16 various size screws left to toss in the trash what a waste, worse I had to wait a week to hang the TV
Still I went from a 50 to 55 to a 65 inch TV and love the big screen enough to forgive the screw-screw-up (ya see what I did there with the screw screw-up
Get ya one of these you will love it and your friends will too

Got this tv on Black Friday for a great price. Very happy with it. Great picture and easy to use just like my other Samsung tv. I’m not in love with the remote that comes with it, mostly because I’m used to the one for my other Samsung tv that you don’t have to point at the tv to use. Other than that, it’s perfect for what we need.

I have been in the market for a 4K tv for awhile now and have always been a Samsung fan. I am very happy with this tv. The picture is amazing and I have always had good reliability with Samsung TVs. The price was also an amazing deal for a 65” tv.
Looking for a high quality tv for a good price this is it.

We already had a smaller NU6900 so it was an easy choice when we were looking for a bigger one. Clear picture, a lot of freedom with picture settings, Easy to use interface, The sound is good enough to use if you don’t have a sound bar and it has decent bass. In conclusion it’s a great tv for the price.

We bought this tv on Black Friday sale to replace a 16 year old Hitachi, when the picture began to fail. The NU6900 worked perfectly, until we disconnected the satellite two weeks later. Then, when turning the tv on in the morning, after being off for several hours, everything was frozen, it wouldn’t open any apps and we would get error messages. You would have to turn the tv off for about 30 seconds and when turned back on, it would reboot and everything was perfect until the next morning. I thought it may have been an internet problem. Spectrum came out, tested the speed and checked for any outside problems. We have the newest router and modem, so they found no connectivity problems. Geek Squad came out and they tried everything and finally did a factory reset. He said if that doesn’t work, call back. The same thing happened so I called Best Buy. I was within the extended holiday return policy, so Best Buy said I could exchange or return the tv. I replaced with NU6070, since NU6900 was out of stock. It worked perfectly for a few days, then the same problem started. I began to think Samsung app TV Plus was the guilty culprit, since that was the channel on the screen in the morning with the frozen picture. I deleted all the channels in the app, then “removed” the app. Have not had a problem since. It is my opinion that there is an issue with that particular app and it was not the tv. The picture is awesome, has beautiful color, right out of the box and the sound is good.

Salivating over the Samsung QLED TV

I'd been salivating over Samsung QLED TVs ever since they hit the market, and I am more than happy with this Q60R 75in. Unboxing was pretty simple, and did it by myself. Attaching the legs was awkward, but I had a friend help me place it upright on the stand. When I turned it on, the set up menu was very easy to navigate and added my Samsung account through the Smart Things app. I also linked the TV to my Samsung phone. After set up, I added my satellite connection and some additional apps, then tuned in to a few TV shows. The picture is the sharpest I've ever seen, the color saturation is rich and well-balanced, and as far as sound, its so clear and precise that I may not add a sound bar right away. Ambient mode is fun! I tried several different backgrounds and played with colors. Transitioning between Ambient screens is seamless and it only pauses long enough to download your selections.

We had a 50" Samsung Plasma for almost 10 years and loved everything but the heat it emitted. Replaced it with a 60" Vizio that only lasted 4 years before we got the dreaded blue screen caused by a LED light burn out that would have cost too much to repair. Wanted to replace it with a Samsung 70" but thanks to Covid, supplies were limited. After another month of watching blue screen we finally were able to get our hands on a 65". The Samsung color is so vivid and we love the Samsung Smart things app that lets me control from my phone. Best Buy had it available when they said they would. Hope I don't ever have to use the extra protection I purchased from Geek Squad.

Overall, I was pretty disappointed with this tv and I definitely considered taking it back. That being said, it's not all bad. For reference, this tv is replacing a 60 inch Sharp "smart" tv that was 1080p and about $1100 when I bought it. There were 4 HDMI ports, VGA and 2 USB plugs. Last it had 2.4ghz wireless N and a 10/100 either plug. The tv was about an inch thick for most of the TV.
Pros:
I picked this up for $480 and it's 65 inches of 4k viewing pleasure. I found the tv to be able to be very bright in comparison to how bright my old tv was. I was also pleased with the color reproduction which I only tweaked with default settings. I found that no matter how much effort I put into adjusting the Sharp it was never right. I ended up using the remote to setup the tv and was up and running within about 10 to 15 minutes having never owned a Samsung TV before. I found the menus straight forward and easy to navigate, especially compared to my Sharp. As good and crisp as the HD content was, I did notice an improvement when viewing 4k content through Disney+ and a 4k fire stick. I don't have a 4k Blu-ray player so that's the extent of my content testing for now. A few additional things of now were the screen mirroring with my Note 8 was super easy to setup and works great but I noticed the sound doesn't feed back to the receiver currently. I only point this out because the other apps were feeding sound back just fine after the tv was setup. The remote was easy to use and works fine but for my setup most of the buttons are not needed/used. Unlike my Sharp "smart TV" this tv actually has smart capabilities and they function quickly with little it no lag.
Cons:
First off, and the reason I was just going to return it, the refresh rate is not cutting in most content. My Sharp had trouble at times with moron blur but it's very noticeable in this tv all the time, even when watching content like cartoons and reasonable motion (ie not sports). This got worse when watching 4k content. I also experienced some major issues a few times when watching dark content with any kind of needed contrast. It seemed clear that the tv was struggling to control the black levels and dim the backlight correctly. The picture was washing out (into darkness) and then overly bright for the scene the next second. Watching the adjustments occur could best be described as watching a dimmer switch be slowly moved up and down and then having it not even react in real time. I was surprised to find that this tv doesn't support 5ghz wireless to help with 4k content demands and that it only had 2 HDMI inputs. This tv was noticeably thicker than the Sharp as well and I had to use the included spacers with my mount due to what I think was an unneeded dip in the back as you go from the bottom to the top.
I found that there's a just barely noticeable lag when turning on, navigating menus, and using the tv. Again, not enough to ruin anything but it is occasionally annoying. This is another minor complaint, although I won't use it, but there was some "free Samsung TV app" to watch TV but the quality was terrible. It reminded me of watching an old tube tv or streaming tv on the internet when it first got big....tons of blur, artifacts and blocky.
All this being said, I think there's some value in this tv. I'd say this tv would be great for someone who isn't overly picky (think your parents/grandparents) or that extra tv in the basement. If you're big into 4k content, watching sports or playing video games, this is NOT the tv for you! Hopefully you found this info useful for making your purchase!

We purchased this 6000 series TV a few months before the 9000 series were set to release. Despite the age, it is still a great product. The corresponding drop in price was the primary draw to this model over newer ones as well.
Picture quality, internet speed, and sound leave little to be desired. Very minimal refresh rate issues that only show up occasionally with live TV shows.
Easy to navigate quick access menus that integrate directly with 3rd party streaming services are absolutely fantastic as well. We use this feature daily.

I’m happy with the size and picture quality of this Tv, however I’m not happy with the interface. I switched from TCL to Samsung and wish I would have just stayed with TCL because their interface is smoother and easier to navigate - I frequently use the sleep timer function and what used to take me 2 seconds on TCL now takes a good minute on Samsung. The remote is clunky with way too many buttons (90% of them I don’t even think are needed) and I’m still wondering why 2 HDMI inputs is acceptable when most TVs come with at least 3 these days. All in all, great picture for a decent price, I just wish the interface was a bit smoother and easier to navigate.
