Absolutely amazing TV. I was more than happy to upgrade and with this quality it shows. I've been sticking with Samsung TV's as I haven't had any issues with them & they continue to last very long. This TV blows me away with being able to see the quality & maybe even a little too close for comfort when you can see details on peoples faces lol. Everything I could hope for in size & quality!

If you want a nice upgrade to your tv and don’t want to break the bank, this is an excellent choice! Great picture, great sound and great quality. The picture is crisp and clear, even in a bright room. I do recommend mounting on a wall though, it would be sad to this tv fall and break. A picture does not do it any justice, you have to see it in your own room to really appreciate it.

I have a large room and this unit works well in it. I had a 65” unit and thought it would not work well as I sit 15 ft from the tv.

Better than the Q70

Recently sold my 2018 75” Q7. Decided to upgrade in size to an 82” 2019 model. First purchased the Q70 thinking that it would be similar to last years Q7. This was a huge mistake, as the 2019 Q70 is inferior in nearly every way to last years Q7. The Q70 has a semi gloss screen (as opposed to a glossy screen), horrible reflection attributes (terrible for bright rooms), poor visibility for angled viewing, a less than stellar black point, with unequal distribution, and does not upscale nearly as well as the Q7 did (1080 looks horrible). In addition motion visibility was poor, and unless you plan on only streaming in 4K, or gaming, save your money and either wait until next year, or make the upgrade to the Q80. I exchanged the Q70, for the Q80, and couldn’t be happier that I did Trust me, it’s worth the extra money. The picture offers deep blacks, the screen basically swallows light (meaning minimal reflection), the viewing angle is great, sports look great in 1080, and streaming in 4K is amazing. I can’t really comment on the sound, as I have It connected to a Bose system. Another upside about this years QLED’s is that they have built in Apple TV, and Airplay. With the tap of a button, I can shoot images/videos from my iPhone onto my TV. Although the Q70 can do this, the Q7 couldn’t. You could previously do this through the Samsung app, but it’s horrible, and crashes pretty much every time I use It. This years models also come with remotes that have buttons designated for Netflix and Prime. It’s only a couple clicks to get to these apps anyway, but if you stream a lot, this is a nice shortcut. I mounted my 82” Q80 on the wall and it looks awesome. It’s a pretty big tv, so make sure that you’re at least 10-12 ft away from the screen when watching. I’d recommend getting the cheapest HMDI cables you can find. They all work the same, and expensive ones do not offer you a better picture. We are only a week away from college football, and I’m really happy that I have The Q80 all set up for the season.

Just went for the big screen recently and this Samsung is outstanding. Bright colors, sharp image, good response time watching Sports. We aren’t gamers in our household, hence can’t speak that area. The screen is quite heavy but has solid and easy to install legs if you prefer to place it on a credenza. Menu is simple to handle, the remote works with different accessories. Just the volume change seems to be something we can’t figure out and use Cable box remote. The space for HDMI connections is a little cramped if you connect a variety of devices. Make sure the cable is flexible and of good quality to take full benefit of the 4K capabilities. Amazon Firestick doesn’t fit without the adapter. Very happy with the TV and scary to see the level of detail, incl. actors skin.

So after alot of research into both Sony and Samsung i decided to go with the Q80 82". This TV is superior to Sony in almost every aspect and with the current sales price it wasn't much more than the Samsung Q70. The Q90 doesn't really offer that much of an upgrade for the additional price. So purchased this TV and i must say i am impressed. Not to mention i previously had a 75" Sony and this TV makes that look small. It takes up a lot of wall space but likely that isn't an issue. The price is great! The HDR is awesome! Gaming mode kicking in automatically as soon as i switch over to the XBox. Freesync is awesome with the XBox in reducing input lag! The remote that comes with the TV is universal. I can control the TV, XBox, Sound Bar, and Cable right our of the box with no programming. The TV is really awesome and we have gotten alot of comments on how sweet it is. It has almost pure blacks! Really worth the price! Highly recommend!

I was in the consumer electronics business for a long time and spent countless hours in training classes about tv's. Ironically this was at a time when Samsung was the bottom of the barrel when it came to electronics. (the 80's) Well, the tide has turned. This tv is just incredible. From the intuitive apps to the features. Most importantly, the picture is phenomenal. Blacks are black (not dark grey) and whites are bright white. Color saturation from the factory is a little much but it's an easy adjustment. Regular Blue Ray DVD's look much better than expected. I doubt that I will upgrade to 4k DVD. If I could change anything it would be to add at least 1 set of composite inputs and I would prefer to have a regular (not just optical) audio output. But other than that, the set is perfect.

I was looking for a new top-line television to replace my 6 year old Samsung 60incher and wanted to go big. I was focused on the Samsung QLED Q80-Q90 focused on 82+, and that series vs. the Sony Bravia series. I have large ceilings in my apartment (i.e. tons of light and big windows), hence the LG OLEDs were out of the question. And that’s not a bad thing.
I got this a week ago and thus far love it. The universal remote is great in coordinating my Fios, Netflix and everything else. So far Bixby isn’t annoying...but we’ll see.
On another note, I had Geeksquad install it and they were GREAT!. I first made a mistake of buying this in a store that isn’t local (it was Black Friday and I was away with family). DO NOT DO THAT. You’ll be handed off when it comes to installation and delivery to a disastrously bad Bestbuy black hole. You WILL SPEND an HOUR on the phone, 4x a day a trying to get a COI. ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT A COI IS ON THE GEEKSQUAD WEBSITE.
Believe me, the caps lock above are well justified.
However, upon going to my local store they arranged everything and it was an incredible pleasure.
Alan and John(?), the team in the Brooklyn area are awesome. They wouldn’t accept tips!
So, after major, major hiccups, and a disastrously bad automated customer service system, it worked out.

This television has exceeded all of our expectations in both picture and sound quality. The colors are vibrant and the definition is amazing. We also paid extra to have it delivered and installed and the technician was very patient in answering all of our questions. We were especially pleased with the second technician who came out to program and installed the Harmony 665 all-in-one remote and showed us how each operation worked for the various components connected to our home theater system. We are extremely happy with our purchase!

I had the previous model and when we switched to this we were impressed right away! Faster internet connection so all the streaming apps seemed to improve. Great depth in the color and quality. But the best part is the anti glare. We wanted a tv in our very bright living room and this one is the best! There are diagonal lines and a matte finish that help block out the glare. It makes such a difference!

I got this TV going from an nu6900 65 inch TV to this Q80r 82 inch. The difference is night and day. The features that this TV has is more than what is needed, but is what you get for paying premium. The picture quality is also second to none. The bright is bright and the blacks are deep. I have tried gaming with it and you can never go wrong with this display (especially without the risk of burn-ins unlike OLEDS). Get it while you still can.

It's the best tv I've ever owned. It's easy to use, great pic quality, light as can be, looks great and most of all, it is great for all my sporting events. The Cleveland Indians look better than ever, the Cleveland Browns are bigger and faster than ever. The refresh rate makes everything look live..
