I bought this to add a game drive to my 2025 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605. Installed easy, formatted, and working perfect. Samsung Magician software is very nice. A perfect addition to my laptop. Fast, cool, premium SSD drive. Very happy with this!

I recently upgraded my PC with the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB Internal SSD (PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe), and it’s been an absolute game changer! From installation to performance, everything about this drive has exceeded my expectations. First off, installation was incredibly easy. I installed it on my motherboard’s M.2 slot, and Windows recognized it immediately. No issues at all with setup, and the drive was up and running in minutes. In terms of performance, this SSD is in a league of its own. The read and write speeds are phenomenal—up to 7,450 MB/s read and 6,900 MB/s write—making loading times for games, large files, and apps nearly instantaneous. The Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD has been an excellent upgrade. The speed is incredible—boot times are almost instant, programs open immediately, and large file transfers are extremely fast. It makes a noticeable difference in everyday tasks as well as gaming and heavier workloads. What really stands out is the reliability and consistent performance. Even during long sessions of heavy use, the drive remains fast and stable without any noticeable slowdowns. Installation was quick and simple, and it worked perfectly right away. There is not much to say that others haven’t already. This drive is the fastest gen 4 drive on the market second only to its 4tb counterpart and the sn850x beats it in a couple gaming tasks. Outside of specifically gaming this drive beats everything handily. The version without the heatsink is an easy install and complications only come from the motherboard or raid card you’re attempting to install it into and not the drive itself. Performance is great right out of the box. All I had to do was go into disk management and format the drive. Took maybe all of the minutes to get the drive installed and formatted. Would absolutely recommend this product on sale. I got it at 169.99 which is say is a very (nice) price to snag it up.

I couldn’t be happier with the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB SSD. It’s really fast my PC boots up in seconds, and games load almost instantly. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in performance, especially with large file transfers and editing projects. It’s reliable, and was super easy to install. If you’re looking for a serious upgrade, this is the one to get.

I have purchased 5 of these M.2 990 Pro's by Samsung now. I put four in a NAS and one in my PC. All have worked flawlessly. Super fast and easy to install in most motherboards or other hardware (NAS, PS5 (needs a heatsink), etc.) The Read/Write speeds with these are impressive. I look forward to where this technology is going with PCIE5 and the Gen 5 M.2's. We already get lightning fast transfers within the operating system but also system to system over the internet. No bottlenecks with this drive.

For the price of $119.99, it was a bargain deal, especially for more storage expansion. With Gen 5 NVMe's out (although I would not get them at all, they are much too expensive and run way too hot), the prices will continue to fall on the higher-end models. I would recommend this product at this level of discount for anyone who is looking for more space on their PC or PS5 assuming you have the cooler as well.

This is one of the top Nvme's you can buy, if you dont have a motherboard that gives you a heatsink cover for your nvme then get the version with a heatsink, especially depending on your airflow and the placement in the motherboard, these things can get fairly hot when copying a lot of files. I have a 980 pro that I originally used as my System drive, the Samsung Magician application made it so so easy to make an exact duplicate of that drive straight to my 990pro, and then by changing the boot drive in the BIOS it booted up without one issue. I immediately formated the 980 pro and use it now for extra storage. And back to the heat issue, when making that copy from a 980 pro to the 990 pro (transferring almost 2TB, the drives will definitely get up in temperature, but again, depending on your configuration it will or won't be a problem. Just keep it in mind. If you don't know what happens when an nvme starts to overheat, it'll temporarily drastically lower it's performance, and like with all electronics more heat exposure overtime shortens the life of the electronic. Also, make sure you install Samsung Magician regardless, at least at first/temporarily, because your 990 pro may need a firmware update that might be quite necessary to avoid issues down the road.

It was fairly straight forward to clone my original NVMe card with this one using an external enclosure for the NVMe and the Samsung Magician software (which only clones a Samsung NVMe). Now I've got 4x as much SSD storage.

Fast and reliable! Fully compatible with my son's Crosshair motherboard. Full speed is obtained, no issues. Plug and play. just cloned his old drive to this and away we went!

Great product, a lot of storage and tbw with fast speeds. Especially with the price hikes it’s not necessary to obtain a gen5 drive and this is more than enough to compare with. Solid drive
