Needed to upgrade from a Huawei where I kept running out of storage. Even though I'm a woman of a certain age and don't need or do all the fancy things that younger folks use their phones for, I needed more storage. This phone has plenty of storage for my needs and the larger screen makes it easier to read. Battery life is good (only need to charge every few days as I am not on the phone constantly). Speed is good. Price was excellent. Definitely recommend.

I've had this phone for under 2 months. The back cover has burn marks from charging and the screen completely malfunctions if used too long. Now it's not charging right. Brought phone back to store and was told to bother Samsung bc the store only covered it for 2 weeks.

as always, before purchasing a device, I did my homework, read reviews here, elsewhere, even watched a few youtube video reviews, and made the decision to pull the trigger when this device came on sale.
a snappy fast phone, gets a signal darn near anywhere, and..unlike my last phone(an LG) I actually get my texts within a minute of my contacts sending them, and I can actually take calls indoors.
the..off placement of the speaker is hardly conventional, but, and I was honestly surprised at this, the speaker puts out some pretty good quality audio, wouldnt have expected that of a dinky speaker either..
the front facing camera is a bit..wonky but what do you expect from a 5mp camera? experienced photo buffs however should be able to get decent use out of this. the rear facing 2mp camera...is pretty much the only real failing of this phone.
the baffling part...is play movies offering me hd downloads on a 5 inch display, where I wouldnt really receive much benefit of said hd content, though I will comment that the phone plays my movies without question, complaint, nor the slightest hint of a stutter, a real surprise, and one that actually prompted me to yank my class u1 memory card from my flaky tablet..best move I ever made.
the screen is smooth and responsive, the device light in hand, feels real light, and can get really super bright when set to outdoor mode.
it has a flash which doubles as a flashlight, always good to see on a mobile phone.
the other minor cavet and one that ALMOST saw me returning to the store for help...was the back cover. it does NOT want to come off, which made me think I might perhaps need help with the battery installation. so, for perspective buyers, this is NOT a defect, though it is definitely concerning.
it pairs so readily with my memorex bluetooth headphones it isnt even funny, and the audio quality is superb, no hint of any signal breakup...I went 30 feet away, down the hall to my bedroom with the headphones on, forgot I left the phone on the dining room table, and the phone kept pumping my music without so much as a hint of a complaint.
I would recommend screen protection of some kind for this device as a general rule of thumb.
all in all, I am VERY pleased with this device.

I couldn't be happier with this Samsung Phone. The screen quality is awesome, great for watching movies or youtube, calls are clear and the speakers are loud. Lots of room for games and the battery life so far has been amazing. Best of all, after hours of use, this phone has not gotten hot! Love this Samsung!

This has plenty of memory and a good camera. The 5in screen is big enough to see clearly, but not overly large.

I have this phone and now I bought one for my brother. It is easy to use and has great service. The pictures are clear and crisp. Texting is a breeze with the swipe feature. Gets all the same features as much more expensive phones. Good deal.

Of all the Virgin Mobile phones on the market, this seemed to be the best value. Before buying, I researched all the phones, reading reviews, looking for problems, and educating myself on the processors. This phone uses the Qualcomm MSM8917 (Snapdragon 425), which is one of the newer chips in a virgin mobile phone. Before this, I bought the J6, but had to return it due to severe overheating. This one is a good deal, but there are a few issues. First, I can't use voice text. When I do, it repeats itself over and over, changing the words down the line like a bad re-translation. This sucks, because I've always relied heavily on voice text. I can't find a fix. Second, I hate how I can't turn off the shutter sound when I take a picture. This seems to be a Samsung thing in general, as I have never had this problem on an LG. And finally, (and this is not really a problem, per se, as an adjustment on my part), I feel that Samsung over-complicates things. For example, I can't pick and choose which notifications sounds to recieve. Well, I can...but in a back-door-fix kind of way. I need to hear texts when I'm sleeping, because my daughter is in school early, and sometimes texts me in the morning, if she misses the bus, or is sick, etc. But I don't need to hear every email and other notification. But in the settings, it is really just on or off. To customize it took forever to figure out. I had to put my phone in do not disturb mode and then customize from there. It just seems not as straight forward or user friendly in some ways. Other than those issue, great phone. But I think next time, I'll go back to LG.

The display is just brilliant. It's speedy and plenty of room for apps, but not many at a time. So, if you play just a few games at a time, you'll love this phone.

So this is a replacement phone for my disappointing LG Tribute HD that I got through Virgin Mobile. The LG would not connect to my home Wi-Fi even after LG, Comcast and VM had their respective tech supports try to figure out why. This phone is fast compared to the LG and has better Android software. Good camera and nice memory. Really liking it.

I actually bought this prepaid Samsung phone to use as an assistive communication device for my non verbal daughter. Just the right size, functions great. So much like my older Galaxy s7, but lower priced.

for 60-130$ its a pretty solid phone but i need to buy these for work and bestbuy keeps upping the price 20 to 30$ every two weeks. oh get a case immediatly the screen shatters quick and if it wont allow you to grant permission to apps then start it up in safe mode grant permissions that way and it fixes the issue in regular mode sometime. Oh and save everything to the microsd and back up constantly, samsungs are known for hard bricking out of nowhere due to emmc failures

Great phone for the price! Screen cracked on LG Tribute 2 phone so I had to replace. This was a much better upgrade. Clear phone calls, GPS great, clear camera pictures, and fast internet browsing. Has great storage capacity as well. Pretty silver color and it's not black like the typical VM phones. Wonderful Android phone!!!

This is a great phone and seems to have much more than I would ever need to use. Finally got a smart phone. It makes calls and sends / receives messages which is what we really needed. Everything else is gravy, I guess. Wish it came with detailed "how-to" manual. That is thew only drawback so far. t
