Just upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S 3 to this, the S 5. Bit bigger, and definitely loved the feel and handle of it right away. Only downside is no fault of the phone per say, but everytime I open the phone, I get the Software Update ready to install dialogue. The last thing I was told in the store before leaving with the new phone was not to accept the push for the update to Lollipop- as it seemed to be known for high negative responses/issues. So yes, I was hoping to hop on to a brand new OS but for now, waiting until a patch deployed before taking the plunge. Oh, other disappointment-- the charger port is now USB 3.0... so I panicked thinking I had to upgrade all my charger cables but found that it is backwards compatible.

I love my Samsung Galaxy phone. It takes fantastic photos and apps run very fast.

Love my galaxy s5. The employees at best buy were friendly and very helpful, but the lines were to long when to get my info transferred from my old phone.

I have been using the S5 for over a month, ease of use is fluid and natural the phone performs fast with little or no lag even with multiple apps open. The battery life is as expected for a smartphone that gets heavy use (up to 10 hours Internet browsing a day) and the ultra battery saver feature works great in a pinch! The camera takes better pictures than any phone I have used in the past including the IPhone 5 and Galaxy S3. Call quality is pitch perfect, driving down the road the recipients of my calls usually have no idea they are on the phones speakerphone. The microphone seems to filter out road noise. As a phone, pocket computer, pocket camera it over performs on all accounts. Features like the fingerprint reader and heart rate sensor are a bit gimmicky in my opinion but fun add ons nonetheless. Paired with a Spiguen case and Anker wireless charger the phone is one anyone would be jealous of.

Where do I start? This phone is awesome. It's water proof (technically, I think it's water "resistant") which makes for soooo much bad singing in the shower. The speaker isn't too loud so I just put the phone in a cup and it's the perfect volume. The screen is beautiful. I haven't figured out all the amazing things the camera can do, but it takes great cat pictures, so that's all that matters. The color of the phone is so gorgeous I didn't even want to put a cover on it. Samsung made a lot of improvements from the Galaxy3 (my last phone). There's a super fast charger that charges the phone in no time at all. Probably about an hour for a whole charge. The best thing about that is you can still use all your old chargers if you want to (no need to buy a new one for the car, work, etc). You can also close all the programs by hitting what used to be the menu button at the bottom left of the phone, which us convenient. You can make the work area of the screen smaller so you can use the phone with one hand. You can also split the screen up so you can work on more than one thing at a time. It has a fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone. That's not too exciting, but it came in handy when one of my iPhone friends tried to say her phone was cooler because it read her fingerprint. My only complaint is that this phone is just a tad too big. It's not as big as the Note or that ghastly new iPhone, but it's a bit less comfortable than the 3. I recommend finding some tips/tricks videos online once you buy the phone to fully take advantage of all the awesomeness this phone has to offer!

Samsung's Galaxy S5 excels at everything that matters. It has a 5.1 inch bright, beautiful display. It boasts a blistering fast quad-core processor, with Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System. (My 5.0 Lollipop update is coming any day now.) It has a terrific 16-megapixel camera experience with many cool features. Subtly improved and smartly refined, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is a vastly superior device, when compared to my great, but old Galaxy S3. In short, it looks and feels great. It performs very well, and has everything you need, for it to become a fixture in nearly every aspect of your life. The fingerprint scanner improvements, and the tight water-resistant case, are typical of this device being smoother, faster, and safer. I've had this phone for 5 weeks, and am proud to say, that I love my new phone.

Got this new S5 for my wife. What a phone! She upgraded from an HTC Rezound that was about 2.5 years old. What a major upgrade both in terms of processing speed and battery life. She is also happy with the camera on the phone as it is just as good or better than her old one...and the old one was a really good camera! The phone is sleek, light weight, and the blue color is stunning. She gets better reception and not as much dropping of our wifi connection at home that she used to experience with the HTC. This was a great deal with the upgrade and the promo that Best Buy was running on the Samsung phones. Highly recommended phone!

Love this phone! I'm glad I waited to upgrade. The size is larger than my last phone, but I've gotten used to it. It is also a little hard to handle at first and I was afraid I'd drop it (someone else I know who got the phone said the same thing). Once I got a case/screen protector on it, I felt a lot better. Sound is great, battery life is much better than my last phone. I used the phone in an arm band during a color run (one of those races with the colored powder) and the phone was unaffected.

This is my first smart phone and it's a little intimidating for a beginner. It has terrific features, is relatively easy to use, and it's great to not have to use the desk top PC when I want a quick internet information check. It's probably more phone than I'll ever use -- cameras do lots of cool things, that whole health software package is terrific if you care about diet, exercise, etc. Great size large enough screen to be useful but not awkward. Onscreen keyboard also easy to use without typing multiple keys in one stroke. I'd buy another.

Recently upgraded from Motorola RAZR Maxx to this. Really liked the ease of transition...no problem transferring data or using features of this phone. LOVE the camera! Takes great photos, and has lots of shooting modes which I am continuing to explore. Google Voice also works great, and is ideal for hands-free use. Only downsides: Flimsy charging port cover (I can see this breaking over time). Limited standard ringtones (Verizon). Large size does not easily fit a woman's wallet (but larger display is a plus, so not really a downside).

This was an upgrade from a S3. GREAT upgrade. Easy to use, takes great pics, love the swipe feature from the contact list to either call or message. The size of it is perfect as it fits in my pocket of my purse of pants, which was very important to me. Has too many great features to list, but has a lot of new "things" to play with, but one feature is the prolonged battery life. That is AMAZING. I do wish that the phone volume was a little louder as my spouse is very soft spoken and is sometimes very difficult to hear. I do have to consistently hit the extra volume feature and still have trouble hearing him. My only other "con" is that the plug to charge this phone is different then the S3. I do wish that it was the same as we do still have the S3, so more cords to deal with. If you are thinking about this phone, go ahead and make the investment. You will not have buyers remorse. Great phone, great features. Looking forward to seeing what the S6 will offer. I did also purchase a LifeProof case to ensure that this phone will look brand new plus give it a little extra protection.

This is an upgrade from my two year old HTC Rezound. The phone if fast. I don't have to wait for the phone to react. The battery lasts a long time. My old phone would be dying at about 5pm when I left work for the day. This is at 80% when I leave work. If the battery does run low, I can choose power save mode or super power save. But I haven't needed to use either. In daylight the camera takes awesome pictures. The shutter is instant. I can also just say shoot or cheese and it takes the picture. Low light photos haven't been great, but I haven't taken many. So I may just need to test different settings. The size is perfect. It's not too large to tuck in my back jeans pocket, but I can see everything on the screen like it's a mini version of my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. The voice commands on Google search and car mode work quite well. I've never been able to get them to work efficiently on other smartphones. I'm not usually one to buy a new device the first day it's available, but I'm glad I did. After two week of use, I love my new phone.

Despite the fact that the Galaxy S6 has already been released, the S5 is still top of the line. The battery life is great, the phone is incredibly responsive, and it works like a dream. I managed to pick it up for an upgrade for only a buck (the benefit of upgrading to last gen) and it was worth every penny. I highly recommend it!

Having upgraded from an s3, I am very happy with the s5. Best improvement is longer battery life (also super happy about emoticons). Love the water-resistant claims although I luckily have not personally tested *knock on wood.* Screen clarity and photo resolution wonderful!

I went from the S2 to this phone and wow - what an improvement. Easy to use, great screen resolution. Camera takes really good photos. It also holds a charge well - on a full charge I'm good for an entire day. Sound quality on the actual phone reception is also very good and clear. Recommend this phone, you won't be disappointed.

Great phone all around. Extremely fast processor, great photos, easy to use, screen resolution and coloring is fantastic! Would highly recommend for any age user! There's many features that i haven't even began to use yet. I don't know why anyone would consider an iPhone with the great products Samsung offers

This phone was an upgrade from an s3. You get a bigger screen, better camera, and best of all is water proof. I would recommend this phone to everyone.

Mostly, the S5 is a larger S3. I found a slightly different interface. What I like about the S5 (compared to the S3) Longer battery life. I no longer worry about running out of battery by the end of the day. Brighter screen display. Uses Chrome instead of the Internet app. More water resistant. The camera is much improved. Dislikes: Cannot cycle screens in a circular fashion. Pages don't "loop" so you have to go back instead of going around to the first page. Minor annoyance. Though the USB 3 cable provides a faster charge, it's heavier and bulkier. I had to buy a new car charger cable as mine did not connect even though it's supposed to. The left menu button works differently and is less intuitive with it's new dual function. There is a cover over the power jack that is needed to insure better water resistance. It seems flimsy and I expect it to break any day (though it hasn't so far.) As new as it is, the cover doesn't quite close properly, so I wonder if it really would stop water from entering the phone through the power jack if I did drop it in water now. There is no more "hot spot" app. I now have to go to settings>More Networks>Hot Spot to turn on the hot spot. Now a 3-step process when it was a 1-step process in the S3. All of these are minimal annoyances considering the advantages, I am very happy to have made the upgrade.

I'm very happy with my Galaxy S5. Initially thought I might not like the bigger size (traded in an ancient Samsung Charge) but this is perfect. I love how fast it processes. Still discovering it's capabilities. Like the fast that it is dust proof and water resistant. I have the white one and I'm really bummed that the home button became permanently discolored after just 1 month. Would still recommend but not the white color.
