I have had this phone for about a month now and it is awesome. I LOVE THIS PHONE. I have had every device. Android, iPhone, and Windows. Initially I bought this phone because of the great deal I got on it. It was $49.99 w/ 2 yr agreement plus I got a $50 gift card for upgrading through Best Buy and I got another $50 gift card because of Samsung promotion. It does everything an iPhone can do and much more. I can customize this the way I want it to look (ironically I have it looking like ios 7) and I don't have to worry about it lagging. You can change the battery yourself, you can also add more memory if you need it (I have 32GB sd card) and don't have to pay the absurd amount for it. You can easily back up all your data and take it with you without having to connect it to a pc. Picture resolution is great. It also has NFC so you can beam pictures, clips, etc to a friend quick and easy.

It took me 6 months to decide to buy my first smartphone...a Samsung Galaxy I (Captivate). Two years later when the Galaxy S III was introduced, I knew I would get it. So much has improved with this version of the product. Much more reliable and easier to navigate. I love the voice commands (email, web surfing, texting). The front facing camera and flash is awesome. Testing web surfing against an Iphone and the Galaxy SIII with 4G was so much faster. I would recommend this phone but still would warn others about the battery life issue. It really hasn't caused any problems for me since it has a power management feature, but it could be annoying for others. It's a computer in the palm of your hand, what more could you want or need.

Great phone with a great camera. Only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the battery. If you use the phone a lot for calls, texting or surfing the web, you will need to charge it at least twice in one day. Other than that, very impressed with all the capabilities of this phone.

Overall, I'm a fan of this device, especially since I got it on sale for $99 with a contract renewal (as opposed to $199). I really like that you can take a million photos in a row without any lag whatsoever, although half of them are blurry because it's /so/ sensitive. Sound when playing videos is great (better than typical laptop speakers). The only issue I've had is that battery life started off pretty long for a smartphone (a day and a half), but now it's closer to 9 hours (with somewhat heavy use). I'm not sure if this is specific to when I use Scramble with Friends though, since that app has always been problematic for me, even on other devices. The device also gets really hot with intense use in a short period of time. This next thing only applies to people with smaller hands, but the device is pretty large (although not relative to the Note of course). It's difficult for me to hold the phone comfortably (i.e. without fear of dropping it) and text or draw a large security pattern with one hand.

This phone is very easy to use and navigate for a beginner. Easy to set up and with very useful tutorials to help you. The size of the screen is very convenient for texting and to take pictures. I'm a "to do list" person and I was carrying a little notebook plus my phone all the time. Now all that I need is my phone. I installed an app and I keep all my lists and things to do there. I wasn't sure of getting a smartphone and now I can't live without it. Battery life is very short if you text to much or use your social media a lot..

I love my phone! Maybe that's because my old phone was a piece of junk (an old, broken Galaxy Proclaim) so take my word with a grain of salt. I normally don't like bigger phones, but I actually got used to it really quickly and even love the large screen. Even with an otterbox case on the phones size doesn't bother me. And trust me, I need an otterbox to protect my phone with how clumsy I am and I highly recommend them. Also, I used to think that screen protectors were a waste of money. Not true. Invest in the screen protector. It makes the screen look so much prettier and clearer and just nice to look at. Plus, obviously, protects it. That's all for now. I'm gonna go play addictive mobile games on my awesome phone... :P

Best Android Device out at the time

I originally sold my iPhone 5 to purchase the GS3 and while I loved the device I ended up going back to the iPhone 5 just because I am so tied into the Apple ecosystem with multiple devices, iPad, Apple Tv, etc. Now let me say this is definitely the best Android device out at the current time. The screen is big and bright and the phone runs great. Battery life is definitely improving on Android devices but in my experience still not as good as iOS. Android has come a long way and while this phone ships with Ice Cream Sandwich an over the air update is available to bring you up to Jelly Bean. My 2 complaints are: The speaker is in the back of the phone and is not very loud when you are looking at the screen, yet I have people sitting in front of me who said the phone is extremely loud to them, which is because the speaker is facing them not you. I do not like this feature at all. Second, is the Pentile display. Pentile display is just not as clear as the RGB stripe and I was really hoping Samsung would use the same technology on the S3 as they did on the note. ( You can read more about Pentile display here: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/the-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-has-a-pentile-display-what-is-it-and-why-should-you-care/ ) Overall, the phone is a fantastic Android device the camera quality is great and the extra photo editing features that come stock are comparable to Instagram and other photo editing tools.

I took a very long time to make my decision between iPhone5 and S3, and finally made this choice, don't regret it at all. Switched from iPhone 3GS to S3, pretty impressive one in terms of UI, I also own a TF700, so, able to sync seamless between both devices. The front facing camera is not that great on Skype, but the rear one is pretty good. Good collection of apps to save enough battery to last the whole day, but the Battery life is not that good, if WiFi is used, so, got an additional charger, handy, when I am away for more than 8 hours from home. Got an iPhone5 for my wife, so, the form factor is definitely good at the iPhone5, compared to this, but won't trade that for the screen on S3. Overall, impressed with this one, had an earlier version of Galaxy, and was too buggy at that time(probably due to the OS too), but this one is quite impressive.

Although S4 is out, however this S3 is more than enough for me. Nice phone based on the quality of voice, speed of processor and quality of camera. The major problem is battery life. Used too fast.

Returned it... Maybe it was just defective... The best buy rep told me its normal for the phone to heat up....(no its not)... I'm not an idiot, I worked for AT&T I know how phones are supposed to be... But overall, it's a nice phone I loove the camera for sure... Really crisp and sharp.. Good screen size and fast downloads... it's a good phone for android but that battery thing needs to be fixed and the heating up..

The Samsung Galaxy S 3 is by far the best smartphone I have every owned. It is very fast and the display is amazing! It's been called a "feature beast" and I agree. Smart Stay works very well. As long as I am looking at the display it doesn't dim but as soon as I move the phone away it dims. Even though it has a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD Screen it weighs just a touch over 4 ounces at 4.07 ounces. There isn't anything I want or need to do with a smartphone that the Galaxy S3 can't do.

I've had about every cell phone from the old Motorola "brick" to the Startac, Nokia, Palm "Treo", Windows "Q". iPhone, and now this Samsung "Galaxy" and I can honestly say this is the best one ever. About the only thing I can complain about is the battery, but I think it's just a consequence of having such a nice, BEAUTIFUL screen to view things on. Can't say anything else bad about this phone...LOVE it!

This is a major upgrade for my wife and her first ever smart phone by choice! I see her learning how to use this phone and its really easy to catch on once you realize the basics. This phone can accommodate her needs and some. The pictures are amazing and front facing camera a super one. The apps are easy to navigate and remove when ever you want. The screen quality is one of the best we have seen and had the option of going i-phone but choose this instead.

this is the 4th Galaxy S3 in the family. Phone works great, sound quality is excellent and the Samsung/Android features are almost overwhelming. Coming from an HTC Inspire, my S3 is easier operate, more reliable and somewhat lighter. The battery life is on par with the HTC, a busy phone day will run the battery down by afternoon. Wish Samsung had added the extra size for a battery to cover 10-12 hours of talk time. Phone is light enough, 1 more ounce would not have hurt. Despite that, this is a great phone. Would recommend it to anybody who asks.

I was a little nervous about getting this phone. It only took me a day to call it my best friend. This phone fits nicely in your hand and is very user friendly. I did buy a case for it and that worked out better as far as holding it and texting. It takes fabulous pictures, better than my new camera and has tons of options and apps. I can't think of anything I don't like about it and it was free so who can really complain? I strongly recomend this phone and Best Buy was very helpful in helping me figure out how to use it.
