These headphones are the perfect partners for going to the Gym. Once you've configure the ear buds to fit your ears you're ready to go. They are loud enough for you to block out any distractions or if you want to stay aware you can enable the ambient sound option (which allows you to hear your surroundings while listening to music. It's amazing. It comes with a great carrying case that doubles as a dock and charger for the headphones-
Very convenient. Th Only draw back is that you can't turn of the charging case, so once the headphones are in the case and it's closed it charges the headphones, but it cause the battery In the charging case to die quickly. The standby time for the headphones in the case not being used is a bit low, I find I pretty much have to charge both headphones and case daily whether or not I use them. With the exception if the battery drain issues, It's definitely one of those gadgets everyone should have. Granted you really could get longer lasting bluetooth headset for 20% of the cost of these. I nonetheless got two- one for myself and the other as a gift.

These are great for a wireless ear bud. The sound is amazing and they are SO comfortable! My only complaint, if I had one would be the short charge/listen time for listening to outside music source like Pandora.

Excellent ear phones for daily use only one works when you talk on the phone and for listening to music the both will work. The sound is clear and loud so they are amazing for that music routines at the gym. Battery last once is with a complete charged like 2 hrs max at full power volume for music and using them for phone calls only like 5hrs straight in a phone call for just regular phone calls it last all day with out a need of a charge. They charge pretty quick so it takes like 1hr to get full charge and keep going. Highly Recommended. And with the Samsung Health app they are like a exercise computer.

I'm a true loyal Samsung fan. All my electronics and accessories are Samsung, including appliances. I love it's unique look, technology and functions. That being said, I expected more from the Samsung Gear Iconx Earbud. It has it's unique, slim, high tech and classy look as most Samsung devices do. But when it comes to the battery life... that was a total failure. The battery life is so bad, so low that for the first time I feel it was not worth my money and mainly felt a great disappointment.

Truly Wireless but short lived battery.

I absolutely love the concept of being fully wireless with the Samsung Gear Icon X. I feel like I am starting to become a cyborg with these in, listening to music, hearing the sound around me and reading vital signs. However, it is short lived as battery life is less than 2 hours if streaming music.
They fit snug and I haven’t worried about them falling out yet. However, you have to really get them into your ear to get the best sound of them and it can be a little uncomfortable. Otherwise there isn’t much bass and sound is high pitched sounding. It may take some variations of the different sized rubber pieces to get the perfect fit.
Touch controls are simple and voice prompts are soft with 15 different language options. However, they can be touchy, like starting and ending exercise events when you are simply trying to make an adjustment. I have found myself ending calls when all I was trying to do is adjust the ear bud or increase volume.
The charging case is a great place to keep each individual ear bud safe and clean. However, the case is not very rugged and can be easily bumped open in a pocket, preventing charge or causing damage. They charge to full in 30-45 minutes. However, as mentioned above they are not meant to be headphone replacements for extended time as they died in 1 hour 45 minutes just streaming music. However, if you store music on the 4GB internal storage, they can last up to 3 hours. I have extended the play time with them by using one ear bud at a time, though you have to switch the primary over to R or L before the battery dies, which timed out on me several times. An interesting thing though, as a straight MP3 player you can use either ear bud, so long as you stored music on them, simply by putting one in and tapping play. However, if you did not set them to shuffle with the Gear App, your playlist will start over, sorted by filename.
Sound quality is good enough to listen to music, but on the low end, especially when in a call. This is due to the Bluetooth codec used and not the more current Apt-X. They can get loud enough to drown out noise around you, but if you can’t get the perfect fit you won’t hear any bass. Also, if you are only using one, it can be really hard to hear a phone call. I found myself cupping my ear with one in, to hear better, only to end the call by accident.
Overall, I like the Samsung Gear Icon X but don’t think they are at their full potential yet. They are not headphone replacements, but decent short term, multi-function, fully wireless ear buds. Maybe the next generation will be better with battery life and clarity.

I have had several Bluetooth headphones over the past few years. I like to run marathons and I spend a lot time with my music both outside and inside training. I have had Jaybird bluebud X’s and couple pair of amazon knockoffs. So, for me the thought of that wire not hitting off the back of my neck and head as I pound the miles out is very pleasing. One caveat to my review is that I have an IOS phone and devices in my home. With that being said I will attempt to give you an personal and accurate review of the Samsung Gear icon X.
Pro’s:
1. Fully wireless…zero wires
2. The fit with the original ear pieces was snug and did not fall out while running or doing Crossfit
3. The touch controls were a neat feature with good voice prompts that were easy to understand
4. The charging/carrying case is very sturdy and good place to keep the earbuds to keep them clean and from getting lost in a gym bag and damaged.
5. The charging/carrying case fully charges the earbuds in 30-45 min and this is portable without being attached to a power outlet, provided that you charged it up of course.
6. You can store up to 4GB of music on the earbuds themselves so you don’t need to be tethered to a phone or device to listen to music while working out!
Cons:
1. The price point is high for what you are getting.
2. The battery life is short at 2 hours compared to my Jaybirds and amazon knockoffs at 6-8 hours. This in my opinion, as a marathoner, and someone who loves to workout is a must. There is nothing worse than getting ready to do your workout and realize that you earbuds are DEAD!!
3. The sound quality is just OK. To get even close to my other earbuds I have to shove it deep into my ear.
4. While working out I hear everything around me. I have tried this outside running, inside on the treadmill while connected to my Ipad binge watching Luke Cage on Netflix. These earbuds are terrible at isolating the outside noise. I tried them several times with different ear pieces and different setting and I could for the life of me not hear the music or shows good enough to actually enjoy them like with my other Bluetooth headphones.
5. There is no fitness tracking available for IOS devices which is a big letdown considering that is another big selling point.
6. The touch controls can be confusing and easily bumped while working out or switching between calls and music.
All in all I love the design and intuitiveness of the Samsung Gear icon X but they need a lot more work to reach the standard in which I know that Samsung is capable of. I look forward to future generation of this concept! For now I will stay with my corded Bluetooth headphones.

Workout Earbuds that are Truly Wireless

Not going to lie these earbuds are definitely with concerns for the price point considering the battery life shows these are first gen truly wireless earbuds and the fact there are only 3 charges for the earbuds that in total give it 4.5 hours of listening time connected to your phone is not great but I will say the fit of the earbuds and if you are aware of the limitations the sound from them are very good, you get very good response for swiping and tapping especially since it doesn't have a physical button you have to push but touch recognition on the earbuds. The fit in your ear can definitely be nicely adjusted with both the fins and ear tips being able to be swapped out for 3 sizes which once you push them in your ear if it is a snug fit will definitely not fall out of your ear. Using them in the gym and for working out or even high activity these are great to use. The ability to not have a wire or something on top of your head is a feeling that is unique and definitely need to try before putting it off as not worth the price. If you're worried about the mic then worry not the mic is definitely good and above average quality but be aware that you will only be able to talk out of the earbud marked as the main earbud. Something I will say is that if your into just using the earbuds without your phone then your definitely fully utilizing the earbuds with their 4GB internal storage you can put plenty of music on the earbuds to listen to and then get 3.5 hours of music to listen to and great for that focused gym time if you want no phone distractions when your there. I can definitely recommend them but I will agree these are not for everyone especially for the price point and with new truly wireless earbuds coming into their 2nd Generation now I can really only recommend them if there is a good sale on these

I used Gear icon x headphones almost 3 weeks so far, the headphones are great when compared to the other products that are in same line ( Apple air pods, Bragi dash headphones).I found some pros and cons in this headphones.
PROS:
1) Great design: They look stylish and small that fits exactly in the ears.No turn on/off buttons, automatically turn on and pair to the device when you put headphones in the ears.Charging dock is also small that u carry around with you, that charges the headphones.
2) Storage: It comes with 4 GB storage where you can save songs and listen to them without any cellphone or other devices.
3) Compatible with both IOS and higher version of Android devices.
4) Charging dock: With the help of it u can get 4 hours extra battery life for the headphones if the dock is fully charged. The dock design is so great where u can place the headphones for Charging and LED lights to know the status of the Charging in the headphones like charging or fully charged.
5) Fitness Tracker: It has heart rate sensor which tracks the heart rate.
6) Sound quality is great.
CONS:
1) Expensive: It was very expensive for the features it provides. It is more expensive then Apple air pods and less expensive then Bragi dash headphones.
2) Battery life: Average battery life is 2-3 hrs depends on the streaming songs from the phone or headphones.Battery life should be improved, it is one of the most disadvantage of the headphones.
Improvements Needed:
1) Should increase the battery life
2) should have the location enable feature in headphones because headphones are small if you lost any one of headphones it's hard to find.
3) Some music compatible applications.

I was very excited when I first time heard about Samsung's Gear IconX. I am a big fan of the good earbuds but the wiring was always an issue for me. Also, the over-the ear headsets are not my thing so I was always focused on the earbuds. I had and still have few of these like Bose Quietcomfort 20, Beat's, or Creative Aurvana but all of them had the wires that drove me crazy by pulling the buds out from my ears each time they hooked over something. With cordless solution (I mean no wires/cords whatsoever) I thought I will have everything I dreamed off. After seeing many commercials on TV about this new Samsung's product I knew I need to have them. Thanks to The Insiders I finally got them to check if this is what I was dreaming off for so long. The first impression is very positive. The box includes not only the earbuds, but also the carrying case that has built in battery that will re-charge your earbuds, set of silicone ear plugs in three different sizes as well as three different sizes of silicone hooks to keep the earbuds in ear during the activities (which gives total of 9 different combinations that should allowed to find the perfect fit to everyone), cord for charging, and the paperwork. After un-boxing first thing I did, was charging. It took some time to fully charge them. Finally I was able to pair them with my phone and check how they play and if they will stay in my ears no matter what. I was very impressed how well they were sitting in my ears. I was doing many different moves to check if they will stay in place and they did. The sound quality is really good, although for bass fans they may not meet the expectations. The mid's are well balanced and overall listening experience is very positive. It took me some time to use to operate them, but with time it is not a problem. Below are the pros and cons that I found about the earbuds:
Pros:
- they are cordless :D
- fit well, never felled off
- nice, balanced sound
- built in charging case with extra battery
- can be used as an independent player with 4GB memory
- ambient sound that allows to hear the surrounding (the call microphone is used to pick up surrounding noise - not so good with conversations but great with sounds such as approaching car, police siren, etc.)
Cons:
- battery life - about 1h 45min on Bluetooth or about 2:45 to 3h from internal memory
- charging pod will drain the earbuds batteries when run out of the juice - very annoying especially when you store your fully charged earbuds in the pod and the next day they are drained
- the IconX app needs to be used to upload musing onto the buds, when uploaded directly it is not recognized by the device
Worth to remember is that this is a first generation of Gear IconX. Looking at Samsung's approach to listening to the problems and coming to the right conclusions the concerns will be addressed in further generations. If someone can live with the battery life that this product can offer this is a nice solution for the wire haters. My hope is that with the software updates some of the above cons can be fixed or improved.

I was so excited to try these wireless headphones. For one because they didn't have a wire like some other brands of headphones that are wireless. I was skeptical about them fitting in my ears. Unfortunately, my reservations about them are somewhat true. It took me several tries to get them to fit and stay in my ear properly. I tried all of the different sizes until I found one that didn't hurt my ears. I'm not a big fan of the in ear type of headphones. I prefer the Apple headphones. They are much more comfortable. Now to compare the pros and cons. I can't justify paying retail price for these headphones. Here's why: Pros, they are super easy to pair. I had no problem pairing them to phone. The sound quality is amazing. They are somewhat noise cancelling. The charging case that came for them makes them easy to charge. I haven't had a chance to add songs to the headphones using my computer but I doubt it will be difficult. They've included an adapter which makes it easy to add your music. Charging the headphones doesn't take very long. Cons, the battery life doesn't seem to last very long. For some reason one headphone always dies before the other one. I don't like that the headphones don't turn on at the same volume. I have to adjust the volume on each side. I'm still getting a feel for adjusting the volume. I always end up skipping to the next song or pausing the music I'm listening to. I have still a couple of weeks to keep testing them out. I'll add another review if anything changes.

I was really excited about these earbuds. I just got my first galaxy phone ( the note 5) and I was very pleased I already own a galaxy tab 4 so I know samsung products are pretty good. But I bought these and while they are innovative and comfortable they lack in major departments. The first issue is the volume it's pretty low compared to my LG around the neck buds, there is virtually no bass at all, then the big killer is the battery life I used them for a little over an hour and they were dead, but takes close to three hours to charge. WHAT'S THE DEAL SAMSUNG??? Scrap the internal memory and give us more battery life and better sound quality. So I'm going to return mine and just save for the bose wireless or wait until the next gen version drops with better improvements. Until then avoid these if you really like to hear your music and plan on using them more than an hour at a time.

I bought these even after reading the reviews even though most of the reviews are negative about the audio file type and battery life, I have to say these earbuds are amazing in comfort and size. now first and foremost I'm no audio geek who can tell one file format from another, but I have listened to dozens of files and I have to say the Iconx sound is as good as I have heard in other files as my music was clear and had good volume and bass. As for the battery life I have had no issues whatsoever with it although I must admit I don't work out for 1.5 or 3 hours like others who say the battery will last only between those times. I also didn't stream music to the earbuds as I loaded my music right onto them, which supposedly allows the battery to last up to 3 hours, although I never used them that long. As for ease of use its pretty straight forward and getting music on the earbuds and playing, fast forwarding and pausing is relatively easy. The fitness tracker is awesome although some say its not accurate, but it appeared to be in the ball park for me. These Iconx are truly wireless, small and comfortable and I can highly recommend them even with their faults these are some of the best earbuds out there although I must admit the 2nd generation, whenever they come out will surely should knock it out of the park. but if $200.00 is not too steep for you these earbuds are very good

I’ve had the opportunity to test and review the Gear IconX.
Small and discrete with an elegant sophisticated look. These wireless headphones are definitely a must have for all of those fitness and music lovers.
It comes with more than enough internal memory to play all your favorite music, as well as playing from your phone through Bluetooth. very easy to transfer music directly to the IconX from your phone or computer with the Samsung gear app.
I found this more suitable for work outs and short travel due to the battery life time, three to three and a half hrs. From a full charge (the IconX case is also a battery bank). Very useful if you’re trying to keep track of your health, as it links with the S Health app.
A very cool feature is the ambient sound, you can listen to music and still keep a conversation with somebody, it’s a great feature to keep you aware of your surroundings, since it has a microphone built in (not recommended on a windy day)
You can receive and make phone calls, listen to your favorite tunes, keep track of your health and much more all in the power of your finger, as it is controlled through touch pads!
I highly recommend the Samsung Gear IconX.

These headphones fit amazingly well. They will not budge during whatever activity you are doing. The onboard storage is great for running so you're not encumbered by having to carry your phone with you to have music. The Bluetooth functions work quite well. Linking to and from my vehicle has not been an issue. When used as a Bluetooth headset, I have had no issues with speech clarity on either end. I also enjoy the passive filter so that you can hear ambient noises while out on a run. Heart rate, distance traveled and duration of workout all function flawlessly. It makes them much safer than other models while near traffic. The only negative aspect is that there is ZERO bass. If you are a bass nut and really enjoy those deep rich tones, you will be grossly disappointed. The sounds you WILL hear though, are crisp with no muffling. Hope this helps!

Pros:
Doesn't fall out of my ears
Headphones automatically turn on when placed in ear and off when taken out
Ambient sound feature is great
The touch features are intuitive
Makes me feel like a secret agent
I like that you can set when the device will give you workout statuses
Memory storage in headphones so you don't need to stream
Cons:
It disconnects more often than I like while in use
Battery life will only last for short workouts under 2 hours
Battery charging case won't stop charging after it's done and will drain the whole case capacity when case is kept shut

If you understand the limitations prior to buying these headphones, I do not think you will be unhappy. If you are expecting perfection in every area from such a small device you might be wanting for something else as no truly wireless headphones are perfect as of this time (AirPods included).
Style is great with these, the look cool, are a conversation starter and fit perfectly in my ears. Running has been amazing while wearing them since it is such a great feeling having no wires whatsoever and having them securely in your ear.
Sound quality is not amazing compared to my Bose QC-30 and QC-35 but it is great for working out with lots of ambient sound blocking, great bass, nice detail overall.
Control is a little rough since the capacitive touch panes on either headphone take some precision, but they are overall usable. The only feature I have had much trouble with is accurately raising and lowering the volume since the swipe has to be perfect each time. Simple things like pausing (tap), next song (double tap), start exercise (hold tap) are easy and work each time.
Battery life is the biggest hit here. If you load the 4GB up with music you will get about three hours of battery life. If you are streaming it is supposed to be down to 1 1/2 hours or so. This seemed pretty accurate in my testing. I have no issues with this since these are mostly designed for workouts and I rarely workout longer than that. If you do, this might not be the best product for you. The charger case works well though and can give you a total few extra hours if you use them a lot throughout the day. I would not recommend these be your primary headphones for everyday listening if you listen at work a lot. For me they will be used exclusively for workouts and while on the train since it can recharge in the case for the return trip home.
Workout integration is great with the S-Health app. It works on Android and iOS but if you are into the Samsung ecosystem it will be very familiar for you. It has a built in accelerometer, heart rate sensors and seemed pretty accurate in gauging my distance ran and calories burned when I compared it to other wrist mounted devices. The build in audio info is welcome to tell you when you reach various milestones.
Overall, I am a huge fan of these headphones and wish I got them when it was released, but out of all the brands out right now, these were the best for me. Give them a short and if you are ok with the shortcomings, you will be very happy.

I love my Samsung Gear Iconx.
They do just what I need them to for my run, disconnect me from my phone while I run but give me my music for motivation. The fit of the earbud in the ear is comfortable and slim for everything this earbud has going on in it. The controls are also easy to use after a little practice. And the sound quality is surprisingly good for such a compact device. I like that I can preload my music choices right to the earbud and and run without being tethered to my phone. It has plenty of space in memory for all the music I want.
It's one downfall is battery life. I am a long distance runner. So I liked being able to run with the music unencumbered by the wires or the weight of the phone. However, the battery only lasted about an hour and a half on average. Leaving me without music for the latter half of my long runs. But if you won't be using them for mor than an hour and a half per use they are a very convenient and comfortable piece of tech.

I love these earbuds and all the capabilities of them! I could go on and on about the water resistance, ambient sound magnification, sound quality, they stay in, you can use one bud at a time to prolong battery life, they check your heart rate and much more.
The only downfall I see with this product is the short battery life. They will only last 2hrs if using the ambient sound feature and maybe up to 4hrs on a full charge otherwise. To help extend that, I only use one bud at a time, and switch them out when it alerts me that there is only 10% battery left. However, you have to manually switch the primary bud on the app before the battery dies. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the non-primary bud nor the touch controls on the bud.
