Customers admire the SmartCam's excellent picture quality and ease of use, with many praising its simple setup and installation. The camera's night vision and motion detection capabilities also receive positive feedback, although some users experienced challenges with alert sensitivity and wireless connectivity. While some found the alert system to be overly sensitive, the majority of users found the camera easy to set up and use. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding alerts and connectivity.

Samsung Smart Cam

I have purchased an outdoor and an indoor model. Set up was simple, however, I need a longer cable to get closer to where I want to mount the wireless box (electrical and home router). No one seems to sell the cable as it is proprietary. The software is a little slow, quirky and does not always let me make camera adjustments when I am away from home. For instance, it wont let me turn alerts on and off or event let me access the place where I can do this. As far as the camera performance, I am pretty happy. The quality of picture is good and you can even zoom. For my outdoor camera, I end up turning the alert off at night because of the bugs. I get hundreds of alerts in an hour, ugh.
If you are looking for decent quality, good performance and low cost, this is the system for you.

After giving up on an older, wired system, I am pleasantly surprised and pleased by the amazing video quality of the Samsung cameras! (Also have the indoor versions; great!) Great HD video; cool iPhone app that give quick, easy access to the cameras; very easy to set up; nice to have all of the units for my house viewable via one app! My only complaints are actually suggestions, most of which could be implemented with software (not even firmware) updates! Need to be able to rotate image; better/more efficient way to review footage (a competing brand has a great time-lapse-overlay method that is cool and highly effective); easier to record...for me the onboard memory card hasn't been figured out yet; and finally...I'm not a fan of ANY type of monthly-billing, as so many software/hardware/apps/etc. are going these days. I'd rather pay full price once, and not be tied down. So, I'd like to be able to do my own cloud-storage, but since this is a highly-profitable scheme these days, I don't think that will ever be an option, and we'll have to deal with it more. So...this isn't Samsung's "fault," but it would be nice if they gave some sort of other option for larger storage. (plus I have loads of other suggestions for them!) The speaker/microphone is fantastic (despite the inevitable time-lag of a few seconds), and got a hoot surprising my niece and her friends, making sure they know that Big Brother is always watching! Overall, this is a great, highly-recommended, easy to set up and add on system, and the perfect solution after looking at LOADS of other options! (This nudged out the DropCam because of the all-weather outdoor model; quite nice!)

This camera has been great, with only one exception. I needed a longer cable than the included 26' one, so I got an RJ-45 extension cable and coupler, but the camera wouldn't connect. I ultimately used the 26' cable, and the camera has worked fine. Running an extension may work, but I couldn't get it to succeed, so fyi. Otherwise, easy setup, clear picture, and I can easily view images on my iPhone and computer.

The camera was nice. But the website and app were horrible. Wouldn't send alerts and wouldn't sign on to the website. Took back and got the Netgear Arlo.

Great HD Camera with SD Card Storage

I selected this product for the quality HD camera and SD card (no need to sign up for expensive and recurring data storage plans). If you're interested in storing recorded data (e.g., home burglary) Samsung has done a great job here. If you just want to see what's going on remotely (or are O.K. paying extra for data storage), DropCam is also a nice choice!

I decided to give this camera a try after a recommendation from a friend. Glad I chose this because it was easy to install and connect on my wireless home network. The video is great, even in the dark with it's IR sensors. The specifications say it'll take up to a 32gb micro sd card but I am using a 64gb with no issues. The iOS app is a bit lagging but great for checking in when away from home. The PC/MAC site is a much better view with no lag. Definitely recommend this surveillance system for anyone needing a quick and easy install and use.

I have both the indoor and outdoor camera. This is the outdoor camera. A few limitations to be aware of. Audio requires wiring up your own mic/speakers. Onboard storage is an add on you buy and limited to 32GB (the indoor camera supports 64GB and has integrated mic/speaker). Works well for us via wifi and another cat5 and no subscription needed! The App on the iPhone/iPad needs some work - lots of little steps to do simple things but performance is solid. There is where the software improvements would be nice - Also, if the integrated google email message you would optionally trigger an included a thumbnail of the triggered event that would so great. Ironically, the indoor camera does just that but not this outdoor camera (hmmm). So it seems with a firmware update to put this camera on par would push this to 5 stars.

When I took this camera out the box I saw a long wire attached to the camera. I thought I purchased a wireless camera. I still set it up on my counter and installed the app. I wanted to see if the picture quality was good and to check if the app would notify me when it detected motion. The picture quality was great and it did notify me once it detected motion. Also the app has a function where you can select a certain area to concentrate on for motion. The only problem with this camera was it advertised that it was a wireless camera and it's not. You still have to drill a whole either in the wall or outside soffit area or wherever your going to put it. The camera comes with a little router that your going to have to hang by it in the interior wall if your using it as a outdoor camera. If your looking for wireless this would not fit your needs. Look into Arlo security camera.

It's a great security camera for first time people like me. Setup was extremely easy and quick. I can view it from anywhere I'm at, detects motion very well, playback is great. I've already captured at least over 100 motion detections and so far its only used about 1gb of my sd card and its a 32gb sd card. Night vision works great as well. I very much enjoy this camera.

I'm not well versed w/these products. Gave this a try. Alerts are slow to my Iphone6, If the unit itself is stolen w/my memory card don't know if it would be useful. Connection drops that's a pain. They say two way commutation you pay extra money for speaker/ mic Still researching. It's a start. Picture quality is good

Just follow the steps to setup camera and it works beautifully. The alarms are still a little irregular, I had to do a full format on the SD card with my PC before the camera would even recognize it. But other than that very handy and I can see if someone is at the front door or if it was just the UPS man dropping off a package
