Good hard drive. This is the second 2TB T7 drive I have purchased in as many weeks. I cannot comment on its endurance/longevity since I just got it but I do like the compact size (vs SATA drives with external enclosure) and this one will primarily be used to back up photos and videos from a phone. Great deal from Best Buy and worth the price I paid. My only complaint ia the app, which is terribly named and doesn't work with my T5 (noted in another review I wrote for my other T7). Speed is great although not double the T5 if transferring alot of data at once.
This review is from Samsung - T7 2TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD with Hardware Encryption - Metallic Red
I would recommend this to a friend

The performance of this Samsung SSD has been nothing short of exceptional. The read and write speeds are incredibly fast, making data transfers a breeze, whether it’s large files or backing up important data. I’ve been using it for both personal and professional purposes, and it handles everything I throw at it without a hitch.
What stands out the most is the reliability. Even during extended use, the device remains cool and performs consistently without any slowdown. It’s also very quiet, with no noticeable noise even when transferring large amounts of data.

As long as you connect it via a USB 3.2 interface, this drive has very fast read and write speeds suitable for playing modern PC games and processing video.

Its great and fast, the only issue im having is using it at school as it needs something to be downloaded onto the computersin order to use it, but for personal use its great.

Amazingly fast, light and compact. A great replacement for any older USB external drives, like going from a 1990 Chevy Citation to a 2022 Tesla. Insanely fast on a MacBook Pro. This is the third purchase of this item for clients to either upgrade their old drives or for local Time Machine backups. Highly recommend. Great price too!

Performs exactly as advertised. I needed to transfer data from 2 older model Mac computers to a new one, and retain the data as back-up while deleting non-essential data. Hardware for the transfer were included allowing for easy use.

Working great, love the space. Games run perfectly, even with a cable that shows a low performance. Dropped it once and still works fine.
I have mine taped to my laptop.
Though I did see one on Amazon for $75. It was Prime Day however.

Small and compact, the T7 is a high-performing SSD at a great cost. Note that some USB readers may require a certain amount of wattage to use it--research first before purchasing, but it's a fantastic option if applicable.

Very fast. Great for transferring hundreds or thousands of DSLR captures and Movies. Does get warm to hot and slows (protective throttling) down. Have used ice packs to keep up the speed and long life of SSD. Still faster than a Hard disc drive when hot. 383 GBs and still adding to folder. Still need to transfer Sony video cam movies and pictures.
