The max speed only works for a little bit then slows down in big transfers but that happens with all external SSD's

I was a little surprised at the drop in transfer rate while backing up VMs. Started out blazing fast, then almost stalled out before settling at a steady pace on each transfer. I expected blazing fast (Buffer), followed by steady pace, not the chocking long stall. Checked firmware and software, did not find a culprit. Anyway, it worked.

Works very good with my iMac and Time Machine! Two usb type of plugs come with it and that's really nice for older usb and usb-c connections! Love it!

Fast file transfer speeds. 500gigs is great to back I’d say a few games but I’d recommend buying either a 1Tb or 2Tb if you have a bunch of games/files to save

They become a reliable part of your system that you don't need to worry about.

Very fast but glitchy...

I use it for my Xbox One X and yes, it loads ridiculously faster than the internal SSD BUT, while playing the few games I put on there specifically for the load speed, in the middle of a online match my game will completely freeze for about 4-5 seconds. Absolute game killer. During single player games, it will cause the cutscenes to stutter, audio will continue and then the action will speed up to catch up to the audio. And yes I’ve tested the games on and off the SSD. It’s the SSD causing my issues and from other people, I’ve learned that it doesn’t stay “ON” the entire time. So when it cycles the power, it causes the content to experience issues. So use with caution and also I’ve heard the older model doesn’t have this issue but obviously is a tad slower performance wise.

T7 = (Android app store) = Samsung Portable SSD Software 1.0 is the one the ended up working for me.

I tried with both usb-C and USB 3.2 ports, and got nothing more than 500 MBps (transferring a single zipped file). The advertised speed is perhaps the highest possible for a particular case, but from a month of use it seems it's really around 500 MBps
