Quality construction, easy installation, sturdy mount for 55" TV

Stout, strong, beefy. Should hold up very well outside. Very simple mounting, just be sure to use the correct hardware: screws, anchors (if needed for the type of wall material). Only gripe would be that it extended out another inch or two.

In multiple places, the instructions state that it is critical to use the correct size bit for the mounting holes for safety reasons. With this stressed, the instructions and hardware provided are a safety mismatch. The printed instructions advise to use a 9mm drill bit to make 6 holes. Plastic screw anchors are then to be inserted into those holes before attaching the wall mount with the provided screws. The problem is that the width of the anchor only looks to be about 6mm. So if you use the provided hardware and follow the instructions, the wall mount will fall right off without hesitation. Those holes are too big for the provided screws and anchors. I contacted Samsung about this issue to see if there was a misprint in the instructions. After getting nowhere with the rep for 30 minutes or so (at one point she even suggested that the drill bit hole should be 1.25mm in size or about the diameter of a needle - ignorant of gravity to say the least), she transferred me to a supervisor who was similarly unhelpful and said I should just hire a professional installer. I told her if the instructions were faulty and the professional installer followed them, it would still be a problem. She finally agreed to forward my concern on to the appropriate dept, with a promise I would hear back with 24 hours via email with a clarification as to what size holes were needed or if I was provided the wrong size screws and anchors. I never heard back. After doing some searching online, I found an online version of the install instructions and they indicate that a 6mm drill bit should be used. A 6mm hole would seem to be appropriate for the hardware provided. However, did Samsung have complaints that the 6mm wide hardware was not robust enough to handle the wall mount and the tv, causing them to move up to 9mm hardware? If so, they apparently updated the printed instructions but failed to update the hardware included in the package with the wall mount, Install at your own risk
