I was probably a bit spoiled having had a real surround sound system before. Saw the opportunity to have a sound bar and rear speakers so I took a chance. The rear speakers do work but they do not sound like a surround sound effect, just extra sound coming from the sides. To me. the ambient side sound was just distracting and did not produce a theater effect. Returned them.

Waste of money. Not good for music. No volume control. Sometimes I have to place my ear on it to know if it working. With playing music with this attached to the soundbar, there is a delay. The music from the soundbar will be like 2 seconds ahead then these speakers will catch up, so it sounds like an echo. Waste.

These are terrible. I got the Samsung 2.1 soundbar, thought these would be a good addition to the system. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Now I basically have $200 hanging on the wall behind my couch for no reason. You literally can’t hear anything out of them at all unless you have your ear like 5 inches from them. I adjusted the rear speaker settings and turned them all the way up to no avail, moved them closer, I’ve tried everything. Also they fail to mention that the only “wireless” functionality of them is between the rear speaker box and the soundbar itself. You do have to connect the speakers to an adapter with long cables and try to hide them somewhere and then that communicates with the soundbar. So they aren’t fully wireless as they claim to be.

A cellphone speaker has more power

Absolute garbage system. The speakers themselves produce almost no sound unless you put them directly behind your head. Even during the loudest scenes in movies they fail to deliver anything worthwhile. Only when putting them within a few inches to your ear will you begin to even hear anything come out. This is with them turned up to the highest setting possible (+6 on a HW-M360), with every sound mode/surround sound/base and treble configuration possible, and with 5.1 source audio. So the content isn't to blame here. I tried fiddling with the wires, making sure they weren't in too far. Making sure they metal was properly contacting, making sure the plugs were correctly seated in the receiver. I even tried testing the receiver with other speakers, only for them also fail to produce any worthwhile sound, which tells me it's the receiver that is at fault here. It's baffling how they could be sold like this. A cellphone speaker can, and does, go louder than this. Believe the other reviews that say these are too quiet. I wish I did.

      JOKSTER543,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Wireless Rear Loud Speakers. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of the surround sound system.

Please know that by design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.

However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1. Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
      2. If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE.
      3. Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
      4. Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.
