    Makes A HUGE Difference!

I bought the SWA-8500S to go with my HW-Q60T and they are FANTASTIC!!!!! In my 20'x14' room, I can hear them great on default settings. I can hear them even more when increasing the rear speaker volume to +6 from the sound bar. Honestly, I wouldn't want them any louder as they would take away from the main sound bar. The volume of the rear speakers also increase when the sound bar volume is increased. The whole system blends and surrounds nicely. The +6 may be too much. The rear speakers even change when you adjust the sound mode on the sound bar. Took me 5 minutes to set up and connect. I am not understanding all the negative reviews. Glad I ignored them. For awareness: The DTS Virtual X setting scrubs REGULAR talking voices and plays the audio/instrument. If you had someone singing to just a piano, the rear speakers would just play the piano. Kind of cool really as it scrubbed the voice out flawlessly. Normal pop songs had some singing where it was more music soundy. It's a cool feature!!!!

Good Sound but hate the speaker wires!!!!

I bought this to go with my samsung soundbar and found them easy to install, easy to pair, and the do sound good. My gripe is that I wanted a wireless system. This means the speakers DO NOT NEED WIRES!!! Unfortunately, the speakers need to be wired to the hub/amplifier to work. The connection to the soundbar is wireless so you can mount them where ever you want to in a room but again, the annoying, unsightly wires are a pain. Hey, Samsung, a little better on the package advertising would be nice.

My set-up is in a 20x22 one-room cabin with the TV & big-box-model-# Samsung soundbar in one corner, and these extension speakers diagonally on the far wall. Make no mistake, these are tiny speakers, and I placed mine on top of the kitchen area's wall cabinets. Here's one good thing, with the RF (not IR) connectivity I was able to put the receiver inside (INSIDE!) the wall cabinet above the wall-mounted microwave (they share the 120v wall outlet). Even in its hidden location, I've had no problem with connectivity. OK, so why only 4 stars? While the soundbar allows you to adjust the volume of these added rear speakers, it does NOT allow you to fine tune and balance the left/right volumes. If someone from Samsung reads this, maybe a software upgrade could permit this? It's a rather important adjustment for a quality audio system.

    Really great surround speakers

Got this yesterday with the HW-M450. I feel it is my duty to share an important tip which the manual fails to mention. Holding the volume button on the remote did NOT start the pairing. You have to turn on the Surround Sound mode of your sound bar and then it pairs automatically. I don't know why the instructions are so different than actual, but I guess the newer firmware maybe changed things. If the receiver has a solid blue light, and sound is coming out the rear speakers, it's pair correctly. Sounds fantastic.

Good but not not true surround sound

    Posted .

I just purchased the kit today to upgrade my 3.1 sound bar to 5.1. While these speakers were easy to hook up I am a little dissatisfied since this is not true surround sound. I adjusted the volume level and they sound fine but voices come through the rear speakers and that's not surround sound that's stereo. I have tried changing the settings a few times and it stays the same. My cable, Blu-ray player and anything I'm hooking up sounds identical with the voices coming over in the rear speakers. Anyone who has had a surround sound system knows that they should not be coming over in the rear channels only the center channel.

    Paired effortlessly and zero distortion

They paired without issue to my HW-M550 soundbar. There was also no sound distortion or interference and I have quite a few wireless devices on my first floor (SmartThings hub, TP-Link WAP, Arlo Pro Hub). On a side note if you have an older Samsung TV or a lower end TV your mileage may vary. I have the MU8000 and I get perfect 5.1 DTS and Dolby Digital support. I also tried it with last years KU6300 and I only got the 2.1 channel replicated to the rear speakers. I did not test any of the lossless audio formats.

First, let me say these are not the best pair of speakers, but they are great for the price I paid. The speakers took less than 15 minutes to set up and connect to my soundbar. The best feature is the ability to control the volume of the rear speakers independently from the other speakers.

    Good for small rooms

I bought this to go along with the M360 in the living room. I live in an apartment, I wanted something more than the sound bar but less than a full surround sound system - don't wanna p*ss off the neighbors. This doesn't really cut it. The speakers are small and their output isn't that great. Yes, I turned them up to +6 through the sound bar. You have to crank up the volume on the sound bar before you hear these when they're spaced out in an average/smaller sized living room. At that point, I'm just gonna p*ss off the neighbors. All isn't lost - Not as I planned, but I moved everything to the bedroom & it works good there, since you can put these rear speakers on each side of the bed.

Bought these speakers to complete my Samsung HW N650 soundbar. Works great and made a big difference when watching movies or TV shows. People are complaining they don't have enough volume I actually had to turn them down to 0. This was probably the best $80 spent. Great job Samsung!

    Great Addition and Great Sound

The Samsung 8500S 2.0 Wireless Speaker System is a great addition to my Samsung N450 Soundbar and Samsung 55" 4K UHD Smart TV. It enhances my overall viewing and listening pleasures. The pairing of the 8500S was a little challenging at first because the instructions are not very clear, but I figured it out and haven't had any problems since. Basically just reset your soundbar before connecting with this system and pairing should be easily achieved. The surround sound is great and more prevalent on certain movies, shows and sporting events. I have my 8500S rear speakers (Soundbar description) sound level set on +3 and after some adjustments, which takes time, makes this entire Samsung set up enjoyable. Recommend

The sound quality is great but be aware that you do have to adjust some settings on the soundbar. I suggest looking at the replies Samsung representatives have given to some reviewers who were concerned about no sound from the speakers. It was very helpful.

These speakers compliment the Samsung HW-M550 soundbar nicely. If you do it rite, connection is seamless. After 4hrs of frustration trying to pair them with the soundbar, I realized I had the wires pushed in to far into the back of the speakers. I readjusted the wires. After that, it took about 10sec to pair with the bar. As other reviewers said, they are not 100% wireless. This uses two wires(included) that connect the speakers to the Bluetooth receiver. But back in the day, a surround sound system had wires running all over the place. So I don't find it an issue. I'm glad I bought them. And I do recommend them to any reader of this review.

I purchased this to mate with the NW-450 sound bar. Yes it does indeed pair up with no problem. I did expect it to have more volume than I'm hearing. It's a marginal improvement if any at all. I won't return it just yet. Maybe it will grow on me. By the way, I am happy with the sound bar itself but these rear speakers need more juice.

      UnhappyCamper:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Wireless Rear Loud Speakers. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of the surround sound system.

Please know that by design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.

However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1. Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
      2. If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE.
      3. Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode.
      4. Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.
