This small SSD 2 terabyte external drive is fully as portable as a thumb drive and fits nicely in your hand. It also has an attractive appearance.

This is my 2nd purchase this year of the 2TB SSD. It is outstanding as the speed of reading and writing is very fast. I use it to backup my 1TB laptop storage and it is completed within 10 min (full image). On my external hard drive it took and hour plus. Very portable and no issues using it with Windows 11. I also plug it into a thunderbolt docking station. Simply a plug and play device. I am very happy with the quality and functionality.

Value for Money: While the SanDisk 1TB Portable SSD may come at a slightly higher price point compared to traditional HDDs or lower-capacity flash drives, its exceptional performance, reliability, and portability justify the investment.

I love this SSD. First off, it's smaller than it appears in pictures. I have a 7 in 1 Anker dongle that I use with my laptops and it's about the same size. Also, it's incredibly fast. This is my first external SSD and it was mind blowing the first time I used it. You can transfer 10GBs of photos and vides in a minute or two. My only word of advice is to select the speed you need. There's an older 550 MB/s version still out there and then there's the newer 1050 MB/s and 2000 MB/s. Don't get the 2000 MB/s version unless you know for sure your machine's ports can handle that speed.

Very useful device, I can transfer thousands of photos, videos and is fast and reliable. If my iPad Pro runs out of space, or maybe I want to backup or transfer files between devices, this is the drive I use. The fact that is small and doesn’t require a separate power supply and fits into my laptop bag makes it a must have for me.

This is a very very fast external SSD drive. I bought this to replace a G DRIVE external SSD drive that contained a LOT of files. Using the G Drive on my MB Pro had me convinced the G Drive was on its last legs because it took an excessively long time to index and show folder contents (some of which had a TON of files in them).
In the process of setting up the San Disk and preparing to reformat it, I stumbled across the news that APFS was the preferred format for SSD drives (not the MacOS Journaled etc). The switch to APFS was mind blowing as far as how fast the drive and its contents were indexed and available to view, browse in Finder. Easily 95% faster.
..and after switching to the SanDisk drive formatted in APFS, the write time to the drive using Final Cut Pro decreased by roughly 60% (no kidding).
So this SanDisk drive is certainly fast, but for me the real discovery was reformatting all my SSD drives to APFS. Now the G Drives and this San Disk are BLAZING.

i love this San Disk. it does the job moves quick and has all the space i will ever need. the only downside was when i plugged it into my phone it worked fine but as i went the computer it would say the file may be corrupt and prompted me to fix it. I mean I get why being an android phone and all converting to the SanDisk. just find it a little nerve racking the thought of compromising my data. the app is wonderful and i love the integration with google.
