I bought this hard drive because my original went bad. I thought it was going to be complicated to install. It was fairly simple and it works better that the original one in my Laptop.

Best bang for buck option. Would buy again. Huge upgrade over standard standard hard drive

This is an excellent upgrade to OEM unit, even at 5400rpm, like others like it at 7200rpm but understand heat dissipation and large 1TB capacity offset. Speeds up startup over time and accessing multiple programs. There was mention of cloning problems so ensure that software works with OS version on present drive. Do not reformat the new Hybrid drive before cloning, nor run defrag. Drive works well and larger capacity will save money long term. Bought a second unit and installed it in desktop and works great for multiple monitor setup. Get unit while on sale. Note: if during clone setup or as a backup and experience a problem return to store for replacement under warranty. Troubleshooting often removes the base format condition from the factory, thus drive never the same over time.

I purchased this hard drive because of the hybrid aspects of the drive, which gives me increased PS4 storage space with an added speed up due to the SSD components. I would recommend to anyone considering upgrading their PS4. It's a very straight-forward process and this drive has enhanced both my storage space and the load times in my games.

This hybrid drive marries the best of an SSD for speed with a regular hard drive to provide larger storage. I've put these in several laptops where I needed the storage and speed to extend their useful lifetimes rather than buying a new laptop. A friends PC was hanging 60 mins after booting from an SSD. I suggested replacing the SSD boot disk with one of these hybrid drives and it solved his problem. He is very happy.

I got this drive to replace the stock 500GB drive that came with the PS4. It works great! Just make sure that when you initialize your PS4 that you download and put on a USB stick the PS4 update around 700mb in size, not the 300mb one. I spent quite awhile trying to get it to work because of this. Not a fault to the drive, just a heads up for those who want to get this for a PS4. So far everything is working great!

I caught this drive on sale for just under $86. My experience has been good with the product. I had to call tech support twice and three emails , but overall not too bad. The Acronis software for cloning needs some improvements per the way I was using it. I finally got a good clone and the drive is functioning very well. I cloned and installed the drive about 4 days after upgrading to W10. All software/programs seem to run a lot faster. W10 seems a smoother running than W8.1, and then adding this drive really woke up my laptop. Boot time is in seconds. The computer will boot in 40 seconds even with entering a password. Outlook loads and hits the server for email in just few seconds. Edge just pops open. I have a Dell 5523 with an Intel i5, 16gb ram. This is one of the best upgrades to make for the money if you are looking to get some speed. Unless your computer is starving for RAM, I would suggest you go with this drive first before adding/upgrading RAM. I'm sure the drive will have some limits since it has 8gb of SS hardware but even so, it is a worth while upgrade. The cloning was a little clunky but part of that could have been my inexperience since this is the second time for me to clone a drive. Seagate tech support could not immediately solve my problems, but the suggestions they made were good and their follow up with emails was impressive, and that was what did the trick for me. Very happy with the drive at this point. I will probably upgrade a 3 year old desktop with the desktop version of this drive.

It has been 3 months since I installed this hard drive in my Macbook Pro, and it is by far the best decision I have made. It was easy to install. There are no loud spinning, or churning noises as it is very quiet. My computer moves very fast, and I have enough space for music and photos. For the price it is worth it.

I play/own quite a few games on my PS4 and I wanted to get the latest Metal Gear Solid game, but my original PS4 hard drive was out of space! I decided to upgrade to a 1 TB harddrive, but also get better performance by purchasing this Seagate SSHD Hybrid drive. The installation was very easy, and only required a flash drive and a screw driver. I simply went onto youtube and found dozens of "how-to" videos showing me the installation process. It was simply and easy and took me about 15 minutes to complete, and I don't even have any experience with these things. Now my PS4 runs more smoothly, boots up faster, and has reduced loading times within games. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. 100% recommend!

This was a very easy install on my MacBook Pro and was an upgrade from a 500 gb hard drive that came with it. It has made a significant difference in the way programs like Photoshop start up. Everything opens in the blink of an eye! The price was fair and worth every penny. Overall, I'm really impressed with the hybrid drive.

This is the second one of these drives that I bought to upgrade an older laptop. The first was a MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2008 non-unibody). The second was an HP Pavillion (I don't remember the exact model as this was for a friend). Both were Dual Core CPU's with 4GB RAM - not anything great by today's standards. After installing this drive - which is super easy in the MacBook and even easier in the HP, I did a clean install on the new drive - Mavericks on the MacBook and Windows 8.1 on the HP. They scream with performance. In fact, the MacBook was so fast that I compared it to a 2010 MacBook Pro 15 with traditional spinning media (regular hard drive for the folks in Rio Linda) and the old MacBook was substantially faster at everything from booting, loading apps, going to sleep and shutting down. Boot time is under 6 seconds from a cold start. I can barely measure waking up time, but it is under 2 seconds. It is also substantially quieter and much less heat. The HP showed similar performance gains and less weight, to boot. Don't throw away those old laptops. Max out your memory and add an SSD. You will get at least another 2-3 years out of them.

Love it, they hybrid tech does see some improvement over the regular HDD, but still not anywhere close to SSD. Anyway it doubled my storage and was a super simple install. Definitely recommend to someone looking to upgrade the PS4 HDD in a cost effective manner.

Needed more space on my PS4 and wanted more performance. This Drive installed easily and with the assistance of a USB backup drive was on my way. There is a noticeable performance increase with this drive and I didn't need the expense of a full SSD.

I installed this hard drive on my 6 year old Acer laptop and it is working miracles! I've had my reservations due to the size of the drive but it runs really smooth. I love it ! Plus the price is very wonderful!

Bought this drive to replace my laptops original drive. I would estimate about a 50% improvement overall. Very easy to copy original drive to new drive using a USB cable and software ( purchased separately). Cheaper than a full SSD drive so performance improvement was about what you'd expect for the price.

Laptop hard drive failed after owning it for less than five years. Installed this product to increase memory from 300 GB to 1 TB. My compute is now faster and performs better than it's ever have.

I do a lot of Photoshop and also have all my music ripped lossless. Needless to say I ran out of the stock 500GB over the years. Also couldn't help noticing how slow it had gotten especially with the Mac OsX upgrades. The older drive link speed was only 1.5gbps. Swapping out the drive was super easy. Doubling the space was awesome. The biggest difference was in the performance. It is now linked at 3gbps and the hybrid performance shows despite the older one being a 7000 rpm drive and this one only 5000. Highly recommend this drive for the older hdd based MacBook pros. Clearly not suitable for the newer ssd based computers if you have a newer one.

I have several of these in various capacities. All are working great and have decreased my bootup time. I have an i7 desktop with 32gigs of Ram with an SSD drive in it. This unit boots a few seconds after the SSD That is fast. I also use these drives as data drives within my i7 and AMD desktops. They work excellent in that capacity as well. Instalation was a breeze on both my desktops and laptops. I have two laptops that I upgraded to the hybrid drives. Both show much faster boot times. I have never had a failure of a hybrid drive but I backup routinely just to be safe.

While it is inaccurate to say that an hybrid sshd can achieve the performance speed of a true solid state drive, it must be said that price to performance this sshd is a superior hard drive. A perfect replacement for the 5400 rpm 500gb playstation 4 hdd that doubles your storage while also offering improved loadtime/download speed and game performance.
