This is my ninth (9) seagate hard drive in as many years and I would not have any other brand. Any issues that I have had present or in the past were resolved by seagate's support group in an orderly and speedy time frame. You simply can't beat Seagate when it comes to data storage!

I rip all of my DVDs and BlueRays into digital files. My 3 Terabyte drive was nearly full. The Seagate 5 TB drive was perfect, and at a great price. Just plug and play. In fact, I bought two of the same Seagate 5 TB drives. Using Apple's Disk Utility I configured both drives as "Mirrored." This way if one drive ever goes bad, I can replace it, without fear of losing all of my work.

Quick and easy to set up.Super quiet, I never hear a thing out of it (my previous Fantom was very noisy). 5TB for under $150! Awesome!

Normally, I do not buy into the "for mac" business for hard drives since about 99 percent of all hard drives work with Mac even if it does not explicitly say so. I bought this one because at the time, it was the same price as the on-mac version. Anyway, on to the hard drive itself. I got the 5TB model because my old 2TB model from Seagate I purchased about 3 years ago started to make clicking noises and right after I purchased the new hard drive, the old one died. USB 3.0 makes transfers very fast via a Macbook Pro Retina and the brushed silver look compliments the laptop if you are into that sort of thing. Also, it lays flat on your desk so while it does take up a bit more space, I prefer something like this versus hard drives that sit up on the desk, more prone to tip/fall over. Bottom line, nothing great, nothing bad about this hard drive, it serves my purposes well and it will probably suit me for another 3 years or so.

It was so nice to use the boys in blue in the store to get info about hardrives. Also because macs are hard to use with just any hardrive, it has to speak Mac to work at its finest and boy it did !! It works great and easy just the way I like my Mac products!!

Very pleased w purchase and price for a quality HD for my IMac I purchased for Christnas last year for my family. Hard a drive was very easy to install and SeaGate has a great reputation. 5 Terabytes worth of insurance for important documents and priceless family photos made this an easy purchase and we are extremely satisfied with it!

If you want to store a large amount of data at a reasonably low price, this is the device to do it. I purchased it to work with LIMA, and it's doing a great job of being my "personal 5 TB cloud". It also appears to be totally silent when in use. Actually, unless I look at data on the drive, the only way I would know it is powered up and functioning is to see the small light glowing on the top and feel the small warmth from it.

Great amount of storage for the price. As more and more storage is required for larger and larger files, this 5TB of space is perfect for many of our projects.

I love this drive. It does all I need at a good price. I have had multiple drives in the past some from this manufacturer. This one is great.

Works pretty good. it worked out of the box. Installed easily without any issues, and the computer recognized it.

I loved this product nd it worked with my MAC with no issues. Set up was so easy and it was plug n play. Overall great buy.

I have quite a file size due to photography work and I found that 5TB should last me for awhile. I bought 2 of these so that I can have multiple copies just for insurance for my type of work. The physical size of the drive is not too big. Operating noise is kept to a minimum. I recommend this product.

This is a great way to store your documents or photos. I had to get all 72,000 of my photos over to this one from a 2tb because it wasn't big enough. It was seamless although it took quite a while since I had 72 thousand! Photos. It is always plugged into my computer and is super easy to use!

My computer was about 80% full, and really slowing down. I hooked this up, and easily removed about half and both my computer and the external drive are working beautifully. No step up. Just plug & play!

Love this drive there is enough space to do whatever you need to do with it.

I exceeded my Apple Time Capsule limit of 2TB and was in need of a larger backup drive. However, I didn't want to give up the TimeCapsule. I found this unit has a 7200 RPM drive which was faster than any other external drives (5400 RPM). I bought it then took it apart! I put the drive in my TimeCapsule and now have 5TB of backup space for all my Macs. It's fantastic! Now, I could have purchased an internal drive, however, the closest size internal drive was 4 TB and it was $40 more! Not all was lost though. I repurposed the 2TB Timecapsule drive (since it was just a Seagate Barracuda drive) by installing it back into this case. Now, I have extra space to store photos and what-nots. I guess you can say this drive is flexible in it's use and provided excellent value.
