Essential component for a PS5. Even though I barely played on the PS5 before installing this, the speeds and instant compatibility are worth it. When I transferred data from the core storage to this M.2 I was jaw dropping since it was 450GB I was transferring and in just 5 seconds it had moved 26GB! Old PS4 as great as it is would have taken at least 10 minutes to move that much data. If you are serious about quality of life and getting all your money out of the PS5, get this or similar and promptly install.

Upgrading from a 2TB Firecuda 530 to this 4TB seagate nvme with heatsink. It is advertised that this drive is a bit slower than the firecuda 530. With the firecuda 530 in my PS5 i was getting 6550 read speeds, with this 4TB i was only getting about 6000... its ok as long as its above the minimum 5500 that is required by the console. Its the same price as the firecuda 530 with heatsink but that item has been sold out for awhile now. Overall its a good drive, no slow downs YET but will do a follow up review if any issues. This would of been a 5 star review if the speed was a bit faster

With the shortages in finding the highly priced FireCuda 530 with heatsink which I've used in the past, I decided to go this option since its the same size as the FireCuda 530 and has similar specs per seagate website. This is accepted by the PS5 without issues (unlike the Samsung 580 Pro 2TB that I bought first) and was rejected by the system forcing an immediate shutdown with no option to format the drive. This drive was accepted immediately with a noted read speed of 6295 MB/s and with a warning that if issues with games to move to the internal console storage. (Never saw this with the FireCuda 530 I did on another PS5 but may be the difference). However its accepted, expanded my PS5 storage space and at a cheaper price then the FireCuda 530 when not on sale or being scalped... I feel this is a great option and works right away and made it simple without having to worry about finding someone to update the firmware like in the Samsung reviews. I would highly recommend, I lessened 1 star due to the warning but could be related possibly to new stipulations as this is a new OCT 2022 PS5 direct from Sony and with the latest software. The last one I did with a 530 was over a year ago... So 530's may also see the warning now too since the Samsung 980 was immediately discarded as unusable. So if your in the market for a PS5 internal storage update I would recommend this one to folks unless you can find or pay for the 530 sibling of this drive.

Best ssd for extra storage for my PS5. The ps5 games need to load super fast, so this ssd is a must for playing and loading PS5 games. 4tb is expensive but better than a 2tb storage capacity. Easy install for the PS5.

Other then the price being crazy, this ssd is awesome! Its fast, and way easier to install because of its design. If your not worried about spending the extra money, its definitly worth it.

I have this one and the firecuda. Both are 4tb inside of ps5 systems both have heat shields. Both clock the same speeds. Only difference is one is blue and one is red.

Took my digital gaming collection to the next level. Completely integrated storage and easy to install so I got the 4TB and glad I did.

It's pricy but it greatly expands the PS5 storage space without the lag time of using an external hard drive. Considering the size of games these days, I anticipate this will prevent the hassle of trying to move my games around and spend time managing storage every time I buy a new game. Considering I almost filled up the console built-in storage within the first week of owning my PS5, these expansions are a must.

Great addition to the PS5 adding lots of extra storage. Easy to install and have the system recognize.

Shopping with best buy is great. The discounted price, and best buy bucks. The installaion was very easy. Some short youtube videos are available if you need it as well. Took minutes to install and setup. Setup is easy when you turn on console. ‘This brand had best speeds and durabilty, so worth the higher price.

I think it’s great to have this much storage for my PS5, however in the long run i may game more game which would me i would need to get e bigger drive.

Worth the money in the long run. I don’t have to worry about deleting a game just so another game has to update.

Purchased for ps5. While the ssd costs nearly as much as the system, i can say it’s well worth it. Easy installation.
