This item arrived damaged so wouldn’t boot. Got an RMA from Seagate but they wouldn’t replace it because it was damaged. Best Buy would take it because it was from a third party reseller and past the 14 day return when I got the unit back.

I'm somewhere in the middle on the overall rating for this hard drive. We purchased several and some arrived with physical damage (small dents), others that don't even work, and finally ones that work great thus far. I've read that Seagate does not warranty physical damage, like the dents describe above, so you will want to return those for a new hard drive. The jury is still out on the hard drives that are physically in good condition and show "success" in the S.M.A.R.T drive report. On sale, this is a great value per TB, but I can't speak on the longevity yet. Finally, I do have 18TB Ironwolf Pro drives and they are still spinning 5+ years later so I would recommend this brand, but please beware that you may receive physically damaged drives and also non-working drives upon arrival. This in turn is going to be a hassle to exchange/return, especially if you got them on sale, cashback, etc.. Fingers crossed that the drives that are working and in physically good condition, last for many years to come!
