Good little air purifier for small rooms
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good little air purifier. A couple drawbacks are it does not register VOCs, you have to keep it on at least level three for it to collect any kind of dust as the auto pretty much turns off the fan so if you’re looking for a device to collect dust, you must keep it on at least setting 3 or higher. Now as the odor neutralizer just gonna be down to personal preference I like the scent, but I only keep it in the device when I have a strong order to get rid of I do not keep it 24 seven as it does overpower the room. One of the big pluses for this unit is the dust trap that you can wipe clean it. Also, let you know how much dust you are collecting.

Excellent air cleaning performance and compact
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Compact Pro is an ideal fit for a small space and personal feel. This air purifier covers an area of 250 square feet and keeps the air fresh and clean. I have been keeping this in various rooms in my home and it's been quite helpful during allergy season. Using this in a bedroom overnight, keeping it in the home office during work hours, and then also having it nearby in the living room in the evenings when I'm relaxing and watching TV. I absolutely love the foresight by Shark to ensure that a long lasting filtration system was in place to last for up to 5 years. This is such a fantastic move to help me save money in the long run since filter replacements can be very expensive on a continual basis. HEPA filtration can capture dust, hair and more. The Shark PureShield Anti-Allergen filtration helps to capture dust, pet dander, smoke, and irritants. My family members have been able to breathe better in the high pollen season. An added feature for a fresh smelling room is the Odor Neutralizer Technology which comes with this unit. You'll get an adjustable cartridge with a fresh scent that helps to activate and keep the room/area smelling clean. The machine can operate with or without this inserted in, as it's just a personal preference for how you want your room to smell. The display is very easy to see and read when the air purifier is turned on. The top panel has a touchpad that offers power, brightness, air info, and fan speed. The front display shows the real time air cleaning power, along with a blue ring to illuminate showing that it's turned on. Overall it's an ultra quiet operating air purifier and is barely noticeable, as it won't cause any disturbance in the background. Also, it looks nice and upscale with its design and aesthetics.

Fresh Air...or Just Hot Air?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark NeverChange Compact Pro Air Purifier is stylish, compact, and promises an ultra-convenient "never change" experience. It would be perfect...if it actually could live up to the hype. From the unboxing experience, the process is straightforward. There are multiple warnings telling the user to not turn the unit on before removing the plastic and installing the filter, which I appreciated since the "manual" included was just a folded-up installation diagram. I would hope nobody truly thought this was a plug-and-play air purifier, but you never know. In the box is the air purifier, power cable, HEPA filter, and an odor neutralizer cartridge — no frills and no extras, which was disappointing to see. I would have liked to have seen an extra odor neutralizer cartridge included, at least. Using it is also straightforward. The HEPA filter is a must for reducing pollutants and allergens, which is important for me as I have a moderate dust mite allergy. The LED ring gives you a quick read on air quality at a glance, and the lights on the panel aren't too bright. Disclaimer, I do sleep with the lights on, but I think the brightness level of the panel will be suitable for most people's bedrooms without being overly distracting. There's also a night mode to make it even more bedroom-ready. It has a 250 square foot capacity, which should work fine for most bedrooms and smaller spaces like personal offices. It's also small enough to fit on a medium-sized nightstand or tucked into a corner, and it's pretty enough to not look wildly out of place. It's not even that loud, especially if on auto mode. Shark even promises the HEPA filter lasts up to five years, which would be a great bargain if true. So far, it sounds just about perfect. Unless you, like me, find that your unit reads a constant 100% no matter what you do. I have a Winix air purifier that also has an "auto" mode, and throughout the day fluctuates, responding to changes in the environment. The Shark, on the other hand, doesn't. No matter what I did, it didn't budge one point below its absolute lowest reading, a 98% at initial setup. Vacuuming, spraying perfume, kicking up dust, and petting my cats near it seemed to not affect air quality at all. Even my aged HVAC system kicking in didn't change the reading, while my Winix would spin up at any drop in air quality — cooking, dusting, vacuuming, the HVAC running, even opening a window should all trigger some change in air quality, and yet the Shark seemed to think it was always at a steady 100%. That sounds fine, until you realize that because it is reading the air as perfectly clean, the fan never turned on in auto mode. This made me wonder: was it actually purifying the air? I ended up turning the fan speed manually since, from what I could tell, the Shark was basically off for three days in auto mode. At first, I thought it was just my unit, but this seems to be a recurring theme in certain reviews. I don't smoke or cook particularly smokey things, so I expect my air quality to not be that poor in general; that said, my city regularly is around 30 or more AQI and I have pets. The air quality should not be at 100% all day every day, especially when the air purifier isn't even running. As an added bummer, running it manually above 3 or so fan speed makes it quite a bit louder. My metric for "loudness" of air purifiers is a standard tower fan, and above 2-3, it is noticeably louder, almost overpoweringly loud once you reach the upper levels of speed. If you need it to run at higher speeds, the Shark will unfortunately be too loud for most people to sleep next to. The other issue I ran into was the odor neutralizer. The scent it has isn't quite neutral, but I had hopes it would freshen the room a bit. Unfortunately, I ended up with a gross test scenario for the Shark after I had a "technicolor yawn" while being quite sick in bed. The purifier, sadly, did nothing to help clear any lingering smells, even after a deep clean, and I had to rely on other methods (baking soda and Febreze) instead. Finally, if the five-year claim doesn't hold up, good luck: Shark's website is out of stock of HEPA filters and I couldn't find them on Amazon, either. Overall, it is a lovely, fairly quiet, and easy-to-use air purifier. The only issues I have with it are the exact things you'd want an air purifier for: monitoring air quality and purifying your air. The shark reading a constant 100% makes it difficult to trust, and if I didn't have another air purifier to check against, I may even falsely think my air quality is truly at 100%. If you do pick the Shark up, I'd recommend skipping auto mode and manually setting the fan speed for peace of mind.

Tiny quite air purifier for small room andbedroom.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am looking for a small air purifier for my bedroom that works silently. This Shark model has never changed. The air purifier has a compact profile and is even smaller than I expected. It operates very quietly. Unpacking and Assembly The purifier comes nicely packed in a box, and there is basically nothing to assemble. Simply open the back panel to remove the filter from the plastic bag and place it back inside. It also includes an odor-neutralizing cartridge, which can be installed by opening the back and fitting it in place. However, the purifier can operate without the odor-neutralizing cartridge. The build quality is strong, and I like its slightly faded color. It features a small LCD that displays real-time air quality in the room. There are also small, touch-sensitive button controls on top of the purifier. Additionally, there is a sliding mesh pre-filter that helps capture larger particles. Shark recommends cleaning it frequently to improve the efficiency and longevity of the main HEPA filter. Controls and Functions This unit is not Wi-Fi enabled and does not come with a remote. All controls are located on the top of the unit and are touch-sensitive. The auto mode works well, automatically adjusting the fan speed based on air quality. The front LCD panel displays real-time air quality, and once the air quality reaches a healthy level, the fan speed reduces to a very quiet setting. The LCD brightness can be dimmed for nighttime operation so that it does not disturb sleep. The fan speed can also be manually adjusted if someone prefers to operate the purifier in manual mode. What I Like About This Purifier - The unit has a small footprint and is easy to set up, with no hassle of complicated assembly. - No need to frequently worry about changing the filter. - The real-time air quality display is useful for monitoring air conditions. - The odor-neutralizing cartridge adds a pleasant fragrance to the room. What I Feel is Lacking 1. Lack of Remote or Wi-Fi Connectivity – In today’s market, even sub-$40 fans come with remote controls or Wi-Fi capabilities. It would have been great if this unit included either of these features for more convenient operation. 2. Odor-Neutralizing Cartridge – The cartridge is essentially just a fragrance pack that fills the room with scent. I am not sure if it actually neutralizes odors or simply masks them. It would be nice if users could select different fragrances, such as aromatherapy scents, based on personal preference. An even better option would be a compartment where users could add their own essential oils. Final Thoughts Aside from these two minor drawbacks, the unit works great, operates silently, and effectively purifies the air. I verified its air quality readings against another air purifier with an air quality indicator, and the numbers matched, confirming its accuracy. Overall, I am happy with this compact unit and would recommend it!

The best nursery addition for PNW Smoke Seasons!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To say that my wife and I are thrilled with this amazing little air purifier hardly scrapes the surface of our satisfaction! This air purifier is one of those rare “they thought of it all” products, where you can tell that the engineers at Shark did their homework and put every conceivable convenience feature into this purifier! We live in the smoky Pacific Northwest in one of the worst places in the country for air quality during the summer fire seasons, so it was essential to us that we get an air purifier before the next smoke season to protect our infant’s developing respiratory tract. The setup was incredibly easy. The included pamphlet can walk you through the steps for some extra guidance, but the stickers on the outside of the purifier are also quite intuitive and give you a general grasp of how to set it up. Among the steps is the often maligned and confessedly missed step that gets posted on social media pages: you need to remove the plastic packaging around the filter cartridge! Gratefully, Shark put a sticker that covers the display that explicitly states to do this, but people get careless and shouldn’t blame the maker if they forget to do this critical (and somewhat common sense IMHO) step. Another step that I love to have the option, whether you choose to do it or not, is to insert the first included odor neutralizer cartridge, contained in a foil package to ensure freshness. Given that we have ours set up in a nursery next to a diaper pail, we are gladly going to utilize this and are willing to buy additional odor-neutralizer cartridges that are available for super reasonable prices from various sellers. A full odor-neutralizer assembly (including the reusable lid if you lose yours for some reason) is available from the Shark website currently for $16.99. This is optional for use, though, if you are looking to minimize your upkeep. I appreciate that you can turn the amount of fragrance up or down. We have ours turned down to the minimum as it is a pretty overwhelming scent on high in a 120sqft room. The outside debris defense screen is easily removable and washable and helps a lot if you have a shedding animal or if your purifier is going to be in a high-traffic zone where it is going to be exposed to a lot of dust, hair, or lint. We have our purifier on the ground on the carpet, which is, admittedly, not the optimal place to have it, but it works the best for our arrangement. As such, we are going to remain aware that we will want to routinely turn off the purifier and remove this debris defense screen to clean it and to do common sense maintenance tasks like dusting the room and vacuuming the carpet regularly to prevent particles from accumulating. The front ring does pulse red if the appliance detects you need to clean the screen. I am a data guy, and I love the screen and colored ring that gives real-time readouts of the air quality and its improvement as it filters. I love that the light can be turned off for our infant’s nursery to reduce the amount of shining light in the room. Overall, for the price, I feel that this air purifier cannot be beat. I am requesting one for my office at work, and for any room under 250 square feet without excessive air pollutants relative to the size, this purifier will be great! For private office rooms, bedrooms, and nurseries, this is a perfect fit! The only disclaimer I will give in my review is that I am expecting, as a person living in a smoky area with poor summer air quality, to have to change this “NeverChange” 5-year air filter, probably every two years or maybe annually, depending on how bad our summer smoke is. That is not a dig on Shark at all, but just to speak to reasonable expectations for places with really bad air quality. Thanks for reading and I hope this review helps to guide your purchaser decision!

Air purifier that is perfect for my bedroom
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, it's a Shark so you know it's quality is excellent. This compact air purifier packs a serious punch with all it's features and performance that it offers. In the box is the purifier itself, power brick, instructions and 1 odor cartridge (this is purely optional). Setup is super easy and comes with plenty of reminders to remove all packaging and plastic covers of internal parts. The most important being the actual air filter that is accessed from the bottom. Once everything is prepped, you just turn it on and let it do its thing. The size makes the Shark perfect for bedrooms and smaller sized rooms in the house. When I 1st used it, my bedroom air quality according to the air purifier was 93%, which by all means isn't bad at all, but after using it for about a week during my sleep and when I am in there, the air quality drastically increased to 99% You can tell the air you are breathing is better and I have such great nights asleep. The Ring will change color from Blue to Orange to Red telling you how the quality of the air is. The controls are basic, but plentiful and useful. Brightness obviously controls how bright the display is to make your eyes more comfortable to just plain turning it off, Fan Speed controls how much air you want to filter asap (I leave it on Auto to let it change based off of my air quality), and of course Air Info to give you the air quality percentage. Another feature I do like is the ability to use proprietary odor neutralizer cartridges. You just pop one on and twist to lock and now your filtered air smells nicer. The one is comes with reminds me of freshly done laundry. The compact size is perfect to take it around with you to any room to get purified air. Compact and lightweight for everyone. The biggest claim Shark gives is the Never Change feature which is a great selling point, but this is where I knocked off 1 star because that requires a huge asterisk. The filter will last about 5 years according to Shark and yes while that can save a good amount of money so not spending on replacement filters, you still need to change it eventually defeating the Never Change claim. Other than that, it is still an amazing little air purifier that I highly recommend.

It Works Well!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Compact Air Purifier is one of those “set it and forget it” devices that simply works quietly cleaning the surrounding air in the background. The first question on my mind was “Does this thing work?” To determine how effective it was in cleaning the air in my home, I tested it in my kitchen and dining area which meets the 250 square foot limit for the air purifier. For this non-scientific test, I made sure all my windows were shut and all the room doors were closed, and proceeded to cook an oil filled, smoky stir fry dinner for my family. I turned on the Shark Compact Air Purifier immediately after cooking and it displayed a 0% air quality reading which was to be expected as the air was full of particulate matter from all the cooking. With the device set on Auto cleaning, the fan whirred away at its maximum setting, and began its task of cleaning the air. It took about an hour, but the Shark air purifier managed to clear up the air and reach a 95% reading within 1 hour. The air quality percent slowly crept up, moving from the red, orange, and green colors that signify poor, fair, and good air quality, respectively. The included optional deodorizer, while very strongly fragrant since it was newly opened out of the package, had a strong soapy fragrance that was effective in masking all the cooking smells. I was impressed by the performance of the air purifier. The next question I had was whether or not it would be distracting to use in a bedroom overnight while trying to sleep. I’m a light sleeper and easily get bothered by sounds and lights. The Shark purifier’s fan is quiet. The fan speeds can be adjusted from 1 (slowest) thru 5 (fastest), and an Auto setting. Even at level 5, the fan wasn’t any louder than a regular fan. At its slowest speed of 1, the fan is very quiet. Next, the display can be dimmed or entirely turned off so that it does not illuminate in the dark. I’m thankful to report this purifier passes my test for use in a bedroom while also quietly getting the air cleaned. The other question was about how often I would need to change the filter? The Shark air purifier has two filters that perform different functions. The first filter is a washable one that filters out large debris. The second filter is a HEPA filter that captures particulate matter. Although the Shark air purifier is marketed as “Never Change”, this is an marketing gimmick since all filters will eventually need to be replaced at some point. In fact, the guideline from Shark is that the filter can be used for up to five years without needing to be replaced. Next is how compact is this air purifier? The cylindrical air purifier measures approximately 9” in diameter at its base and a height of approximately 11.5”. It will take up some space on a table or countertop, but not much. Finally, do I recommend the Shark Compact air purifier? Yes, I do! Shark crafted a highly effective air purifier that seamlessly cleans and deodorizes the air while doing so unobtrusively in the background. Plus, without needing to replace air filters as often as some other purifiers, there is a real savings realized in long term maintenance costs. I just hope they still make the filters five years from now when I need them!

Great air filter that will save you money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have air purifiers in every room in the house. Some are big and some are small. The thing that almost all of them have in common is that the filters have to be replaced about every 6 months. The Shark NeverChange is different. This air purifier utilizes a “DebrisDefense” pre-filter. You only change the filter about every 5 years. The filter on this unit is Shark’s “PureShield Anti-Allergen HEPA” filter. It captures 99.998% of large, small, and micro-sized particles. The filter has multiple layers. It has a pet particle barrier, an activated carbon layer, and then a Nanoseal Anti-Alerrgen HEPA filter. In addition, the unit has an odor neutralizing cartridge that guards against odors in the air and releases a fresh scent. The amount of scent released is adjustable. It’s optional to use, so if you don’t like it, you don’t have to replace it at its end of life. The filter is optimized to cover 250 sq ft. I put mine in the kitchen. That was the one room that didn’t already have a filter. It has made a very noticeable difference. When I first turned it on, it was in auto mode. In this mode it senses the air quality and adjusts the fan speed accordingly. There is a colored ring on the front a=of the unit that changes color based on the quality of the air. There is also a 3-digit display that shows the current air quality. The ring was blue and the number was 100. It showed that I had very clean air. It was time to make supper and as soon as I started cooking, the number dropped to 60, the ring changed to red and the fan sped up. You could smell the freshness coming from the machine, even though I had it on its lowest setting. As time went on, the number slowly increased until it was back at 100. The filter has a button that allows you to change what is showed on the display. It defaults to percentage of clean air. Pressing a button changes it to PM 1.0,, the total particles that are the size of allergens. Pressing it again changes it to PM 2.5, which is the total particles the size of smoke. One more press and you will see PM10 which is the total particles that are the size of dust. I suggest always running it in auto mode. After it senses 100% clean for 5 minutes it will switch into Eco mode which optimizes the life of the HEPA filter. When the ring flashes red, it means that it’s time to check and clean the pre-filter. I really like this filter. It’s going to save me a lot just in replacement filter costs alone. You normally go through about 10 filters in the 5 years that Shark anticipates this one will last. That is a lot of filters that you don’t have to buy and put into a landfill after 6 months. I highly recommend this filter and I will probably buy more of them in the future.

Great Air Purifier with 5 year HEPA Filter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a whole house air purifier, but wanted a room purifier. So, I was curious if the Shark Neverchange Compact Pro Air Purifier would add any benefit for the air quality of my bedroom. The setup is as simple as removing the stickers and the plastic film on the HEPA filter. Once I turned it on, the air quality stayed at 100% for about a day. I looked for an app to download, but I do not believe there is one for this model. The HEPA filter needs to be replaced every 5 years and the unit will determine the need to clean the washable filters. The small size makes this air purifier perfect for the bedroom, and the fan noise is not noticeable when going to bed. After the first day, I noticed the unit determined a decline in the air quality (about 70%). This was confirmed by my other air purifier and documented high pollen count. I have the air purifier set on auto and noticed the change in demand during changing air quality. The Shark air purifier was quick to get the air quality back to 99%. I would recommend this air purifier for anyone who would like better air quality in a bedroom or as a secondary unit to a whole house air purifier. I like the compact size, the washable filter, and how quiet the fan is.

Good overall, misleading name though
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark NeverChange Compact Pro Air Purifier has more hits than misses, as is standard for most of their product line. But the name is slightly misleading and confusing. Firstly, the filter does have an expiration date of five years; it's not like you can clean and reuse it so you’d never have to buy a filter again. If I didn’t know better – and I have some 10–15-year-old Shark products that are still working great – I’d almost think that the reason it’s “never change” is because by the time the filter expires, the device will be dead. It’s just a bit of unfortunate naming in my opinion. Getting past that, I’m impressed with the performance in my home office where I deployed it. It’s certainly doing the job and keeping my office environment clean and smelling great. I really like the odor neutralizer cartridges as they are adjustable and produce a pleasant fragrance without being overwhelming and replacements are cheaply available. I’ve also noticed a reduction in dust on my flat surfaces. Of course, part of that could be that as a result of the weather during the testing period, the ambient temp was a little warmer, so my heating system hasn’t been running as much. But my office smells pleasant even if I have the odor neutralizer turned down and I am a smoker so that says a lot. I do think the air sensor may be a little too sensitive though as the air quality can go from 100% to 87% by merely being close to it for a bit. Mine is in an area near one of my windows (closed BTW) and I’ve had it react numerous times when I have gone to close the blinds. I thought that maybe it was sensing smoke on my clothing, so I tested it again when I’d just showered and changed my clothes and got similar results. The fan isn’t too loud and unless the air quality is really bad, it spends most of its time around 40-45 decibels according to my meter. The same room without the Shark turned on averages 30-37 decibels so it’s really quite pleasant and doesn’t detract from your attention focus. I think it’s a great unit for a bedroom as the fan would generate a nice white noise that would aid in sleeping while keeping the air clean and fresh. All in all, I think it’s a very good air purifier for the price and does what I expected it to. And I know from experience it will last a long time, at least as long as my other Shark products as they share the same build quality. So, I’m pretty sure it will be around long enough for me to change that filter – despite the name.

Nice Quiet Air Purifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting up the Shark-NeverChange Compact Pro Air Purifier-Dove was very easy. Removing the plastic and wrapped materials. Then plugging the purifier in. Pressing the on/off button was easy. The purifier monitors the air quality, you're able to control the brightness and the fan speed. The air quality in my den was at 100 percent in the beginning. At first, I was uncertain if it was measuring the air quality properly. So I tested it by introducing another scent through the house by using my flat iron after washing my hair. The air purifier could smell the flat iron and immediately began adjusting the air quality in the den. The purifier color changed when using the flat iron and eventually went back to the normal blue color once the air quality was adjusted. The features it comes with include an odor neutralizer from Dove. It helps with allergens. I love that the purifier is light weight. I like that the filter does not have to be replaced on a monthly basis and can last up to 5 years. That is a plus as I use multiple purifiers throughout my home. I have already recommended this purifier to a coworker of mine that struggles with allergies. As I too, struggle with allergies. Great addition to my home.

Beautiful Design, Too Noisy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Never Change Compact Pro Air Purifier has a beautiful modern design that would look good on any table or counter top. It is approximately 11.5" tall and 9" wide. The color is an off white which should go with any decor. In the box you get the air purifier, a power cord with adapter, an odor neutralizing cartridge, and a quick start guide. After removing some tape you are instructed to turn the purifier upside down and remove the plastic surrounding the Hepa filter. After you plug in the air purifier you will see touch sensitive buttons appear at the top. There is a button for power, fan speed and display brightness. There is also an information button which cycles through readings of various sizes of particulate matter (from allergens to smoke and dust), and how much usable life is left on the dust screen before you clean it. The dust screen is easily accessible at the rear. The display is large, well designed and easy to read. The display is circular with a bright light around the edge. This light will be blue when your air quality is good (85-100%), yellow when it is fair (70-84%), and red when it is poor (0-69%). The fan speed ranges from 1-5. After 5 it sets to Automatic. In this mode it will adjust the fan speed depending on the air quality. If your air is at 100% for 5 minutes it will enter Eco mode which will extend the life of your filter. The odor neutralizing cartridge is optional to use. I don't have smokers or pets in our house so I decided not to use it. There are also some warnings that come with it about not touching it or directly inhaling it, which you should be aware of. Also note that even though the product is called "Never Change", the product states that the Hepa filter can last up to 5 years. So, we have a beautifully designed, intuitive, effective air filter, so why only 3 stars? If I had written this review after the first day I would have given it 5 stars. However, as the days have gone by the noise level has increased. For a product that is designed to go on your night tables, bedrooms, nurseries and home offices it's simply too loud. Only speed 1 is very quiet, however that pushes out very little air. Speed 2 is okay but noticeable. Speeds 3-5 are unusable in my opinion, except maybe in short bursts, because it's too noisy. .

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use Shark Air Purifiers in some rooms but they are all the floor standing models and purchasing filters gets really costly. I was pleased to be offered this compact size model for my bedroom and it claims up to a 5 year filter life which I hope is true. It came packaged nicely and is only 11.61" high so fits nicely on my nightstand. It doesn't weigh much at about 4.5 pounds and I really like the Dove color. I got it unpacked to set up and it has CleanSense IQ so you can see your air quality on the LCD screen in real time. Be sure to remove the plastic bag off the filter before turning on by unscrewing the cap on bottom of unit. It has a Pure Shield HEPA filter which captures 99.98% of large, small and micro-sized particles. My bedroom is excellent for the Shark's size as it states purification up to 250 sq. ft. When I turned it on was pleasantly surprised how nice and quiet it is, especially on the 1 or 2 fan speed setting and you can dim or turn off the light for sleeping. I have no issue using it on the dim as it's very softly lit. I keep my unit set on the AUTO mode and it will speed up the fans when needed but goes back into ECO mode when the air is at 100%. One thing I don't use is the scented attachment as I'm allergic to perfume smells but that's not an issue for me as it's optional to install. I've noticed I'm not sneezing or having congestion like I was before placing this in my bedroom near me ~ a real plus. In my opinion it's perfect for what you'll need to purify your air. Keeps the room smelling nice and fresh and I really love everything about it! Buy one ~ you will not be disappointed! This is a real winner!

Love the “never change” filter!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to setup. Just remove the plastic of the internal “5 year” never change filter. Turn it on and go. The led air quality display is easy to read and lets you know exactly what your air quality currently is. We put it near the litter box and it does a great job cleaning the air. This model is designed for a bedroom or other 250 sq ft or smaller room, but we have it in a hallway and it works well. Occasionally when we cook the steam and smoke from cooking in the kitchen drifts up and lowers the air quality and you instantly see it on the front percent display. It also changes the color from Red (poor air quality), Yellow, and Green. When in auto mode and the air quality is low it can be a bit noisy when the fan kicks on high, but you can adjust the speed down from auto. You can also dim the brightness of the lights so that it doesn’t light up your bedroom at night. It has an odor fresh scent capability, but note that you have to buy those scent cartridges every month or 2. It doesn’t require the scent cartridge to clean the air though, so they are optional. Does a great job cleaning the air and reducing our pet smells!

Clean air with minimal maintenance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark is coming up big in the home air purifier segment. Gone are the days where you actually need to spend every few months on costly HEPA air filters. A filter with 5 years of use, Shark claims you can save up to $150 compared to leading competitors. That to me is such a good thing because of the hassle of even having to order filters and have them stored in the home. Especially if you have multiple air filters in your different bedrooms of your home. All you have to do occasionally is clean out the pre filters, which can be wiped clean. Having tried the Shark NeverChange MAX in my living room, I was left wanting something for my home office and bedroom. This covers 250 square feet and it does very well with clearing out the room and flowing purified air. The family also loves that the odor neutralizer has a pleasant smell, think "hotel" like scent. Having the wife cook daily, a labrador retriever running in and out, and a young toddler, the smells this thing picks up can make the display flash red right away. But for the office or bedrooms that we have this in, it does a great job at moving the air until it's clean. At the time of this writing, the only drawback I can see is that Shark does not have the HEPA air filter in stock and they are offered for $49.99 for the pet pro version and $39.99 for the standard filter. Also, their odor neutralizer cartridges are slightly up there in price, $26.99 for two. For the ease of use, not having to buy filters every few months, I'll take these drawbacks for that "clean" home feeling.

Shark designs another winner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ll start by saying that I am a big fan of Shark products. From small kitchen appliances, to floor care products, to air purifiers, we use them all in our family and they have never failed us. When I saw that Shark were releasing a new compact air purifier that doesn’t require a filter change, I was immediately intrigued. As an owner of several air purifiers, mostly due to the inevitable summer wildfires out West, I feel like you can never have too many unless of course, you already have one in every room of the house. We are using the new Shark NeverChange air purifier in our bedroom, which is on the smaller side, and it performs as expected. We currently don’t leave it on 24/7, but only turn it on when someone is home. Using this method, I have noticed that the Shark, when powered on for the first time after work, will show that the air quality isn’t clean and will start working right away. In our 15x17 bedroom, it will take the compact Shark about 10-20 minutes to clean the room and enter idle mode. This of course depends on just how dirty, or smoky the air is, and how many people are in the room. Thankfully at this time of year, the smoke isn’t as bad. I am assuming we will keep it running 24/7 in the spring and summer months. Some things I appreciate about this unit, and in no particular order, are the fact that it looks like a little droid unit sitting on the table and being a science fiction fan, I like that. The styling and build quality are top notch, as is the case with all of our Shark products. I also really appreciate the fact that you can dim, or turn off the front panel lighting for dark environments, such as a kids room, or nursery. It is light and very portable, making it easy to move from room to room if needed. It is relatively quiet when cleaning dirty air, but completely whisper quiet once it is idling. Since the unit includes Hepa filtration, both odors and smoke are sucked up and left inside the unit like the ghost trap from Ghostbusters, ejecting only clean, fresh, breathable, purified air. There is even a little air freshener puck on top of the unit with a dial to adjust how much scent you want released into the room if you choose. The scent is pleasant and should be a great feature to have if and when the wild fires begin. Initial setup was a breeze. You peel off a few tape pieces, remove the plastic from the filter and press the power button. It took me less than five minutes to get up and running from being inside the factory sealed box. While I have no idea what NeverChange actually means with respect to the filter itself, I am hoping that this little thing can go a really long time without the need for replacement filters. The main filter inside the unit looks very similar to other air purifier filters I have changed in the past, so I can only assume that this one will indeed need to be replaced at some point. Only time will tell! The slide out thin filter on the side captures larger particles like pet hair. This filter can easily be removed and cleaned periodically which is another bonus feature. If you have a smaller sized office, bedroom, or nursery, I would highly consider the Shark NeverChange Compact air purifier. If you need to cover more space, they also offer this same unit in larger sizes. Breathe well!

Great Shark Air Purifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark air purifier may be small in size, but it seems to be working like a big air purifier in the 700 sq. ft. area that it is in. Within a day of it running (very quietly), it has managed to clear away the dust particles in the air that were brought up during furniture moving. It has been worth the money so far.
