I've finally decided to buy Shovel Knight for the Wii U, and I've heard a lot of great things about it! I'd actually prefer physical over digital, when it comes to video games. This here is what brought nostalgia back, because it is in 8-bit graphics and the music is really good! The cutscenes are in 2-D, and overall it is a great game. You play as the knight named Shovel Knight, and you use your shovel to pound the enemies, and by beating the bosses. This is one of the hardest games you'll ever play, and it's a lot of fun!

Shovel knight is a very nice game, plays and feels just like a game from back in the day, also is quite challenging at some points, and a good price for a game, very fun!

I bought this physically mostly because I read it came with the soundtrack. I was disappointed that it just a download link for it though. The game itself is fun. It's not super great, but it's very competently made, and they've added some extra content through free updates. The only thing that disappointed me is that the relics (powers you can find in each stage) are not equal in terms of usefulness and that there weren't even more non-boss challenges in the challenge mode. There's supposed to be another update coming out later that will add a third playable character. The Shovel Knight amiibo adds a lot more fun to the main game with even more abilities and local co-op, but paying ~$10 for a small statuette and an add on to a $15-20 game seems a bit expensive.

Great game that feels like a lost NES title (Mega Man and Ducktales come to mind). Awesome boss fights, catchy music, and sweet 8-bit graphics round out this tough (but fair) platformer. There's also a BUNCH of achievements/feats/challenges for the completionists out there. Also included in the package is an entirely separate campaign starring Plague Knight....The gameplay formula is tweaked ever so slightly to keep things interesting. *Download code for the game soundtrack is included in the physical copy. Look out for the Shovel Knight amiibo in early 2016!

I love this game it's so wonderful. I have replayed twice and played the plague free dlc once. The gameplay is really smooth for a retro style game, and there are lots of hidden stuff to find. The shovel knight amiibo is probably the most practical amiibo I have ever bought, and is why I chose to buy for Wii u and not my ps4. I totally recommend this.

Shovel Knight is a call back to the great days of retro gaming on the NES. It has all of the challenge found in a Mega Man game with bigger story element. The controls are easy to learn but can be difficult to master. Shovel Knight was originally developed for and plays well on the Wii U and has the bonus of a two player co-op mode if you purchase and tap the Shovel Knight Amiibo to the Wii U GamePad. The game also includes a code to download the digital soundtrack that in itself is very good. You can purchase this game on the Wii U eShop for $14.99, but if you are like me a physical disc looks great in your game collection for not much more.

Miss the old platformers? This is THE platformer plus more! Great soundtrack, gameplay, and it's got a good difficulty to it. Can't wait to try it with the amiibo!

This is one of my personal favorite games of all time, it has alot of repay-ability because of the many achievements and different campaigns. The game play is tight and really enjoyable. The physical copy also includes a free copy of the amazing soundtrack. The developers are also adding free dlc to the game continuously so that's an added bonus.

Spot-on controls, fantastic retro 8-bit graphics like in the days of the NES, and a touch of humor all come together to make this an outstanding game. Amiibo support as well!!!! :-D

This game is old-school FANTASTIC!! And when the amiibo releases and my wife and I can play it co-op...cannot wait!! If you grew up on the NES, BUY THIS!! :D

This game is very underrated overall. If you have not had a chance to play this, pick it up on sale, Best Buy tends to offer this at a great price often

This game is extremely fun, has replay value, and is even more fun to play co-op. Gameplay is great, soundtrack is amazing.

There is so much to be said about this game. The gameplay is smooth and flawless. Beautifully animated. So much good content for the very modest price. A true throwback to the 8bit days where precise timing and skillful platforming ruled the day. So much to do and such a blast. I highly, highly recommend this game to all! Enjoy it myself and bought a copy for my nephew for xmas

This is very similar to an older Mega Man or Castlevania game both in graphics and difficulty. If you're looking for an experience like that, you can't go wrong with Shovel Knight.

If you were born in the 80's... If you miss your 16 bits console... This game is for you! Sooo much fun! Its all made in a classic 16 bits style... Pixels.. Music... But its also has some modern touch... Sidequests, extra missions, etc...i loved it! Its makes me feel playing my old nintendo, in an after-school afternoon :)

This game just brings you back to when you were young but with better controls and much nicer sharpness and color. Very fun. The price makes this game a steal. I recommend this for everyone.

I love this game and was excited they put it on the Wii U. Its a fun indie game with its own classic style. The music and the story are engaging and the combat is challenging but not too hard.

Shovel Knight is like a love letter to classic NES platformers. The music, graphics, and tight control brings you back to one of the greatest eras of platformers.
